I walked in at 3:55 pm and the worker said the store was closed! When they obviously close at 4pm. What is the rush? Love their bagels but this was upsetting.

Best BLT!!. Bagels are nicely toasted and crisp on the outside, bacon was salted just right, and the perfect proportion of L and T. Skip the ice coffee seems a bit sketchy

I just ordered a plain bagel with veggie cream cheese and cucumber. I get home… instead of telling me they were out of cucumber, they put pickles on it instead. Now my whole bagel tastes like it was dipped in vinegar and I had to throw out the $ 4 I had just spent. Total waste.

These guys make the best BLT’s. It’s my favorite spot to go for a quick breakfast and coffee. Yes there might be some communication issues but only when they’re busy. Bagels are always soft and constantly being made in the back.

The flavor of the bagels are great. However, as a place called Mr. BAGEL I don’t understand how you run out of bagels mid-day. Ive gone here a bunch of times and this happened to me twice. Warning– the store closes at 3 and I once made the mistake of passing by here around 2 and they were sold out of everything and the staff didn’t seem to care. They were already putting up the chairs and mopping. Another time it was around 11 am! How do you run out of bagels at 11am?! I almost forgot to mention I went in at 10 expecting some bagels and they were just putting them in the oven and toId me to wait half hour. Sigh. I love bagels and frequent bagel shops everywhere I go in NYC and NJ and never seen this happen. Most bagel places encourage customers to buy bagels and are making more bagels in the back in case they run out of bagels. I really want to like this place Bc the bagels are actually delicious. I just wish they would get their act together.

Funny how a previous review of this place somehow got erased. These are not bagels, the staff does not know how to get an order right, and the asians there are racist.

These are NOT bagels. Bagel shaped rolls with various traditional bagel toppings on them is what they are. I was peeking in the back while on line and did not notice a boiler. Just ovens. NYBAGELSAREBOILED then baked. These are Bleeechhh

Great spot for a quick breakfast and coffee. They serve sandwiches as well but I’ve never had one so I can’t comment on it. But the bagels are good. There are muffins and cookies as well. Definitely worth a try if you need something quick and tasty.

Best bagels in town! If you go in the morning, they’re bagels are always fresh and soft. The people there are friendly and work really hard to give us our bagel as quick as possible. I’ve been to a few bagel places, such as the trendy ones in Williamsburg, and they were horrible. The ones in Williamsburg were dry, hard, and the service was the worst. At one place I had to wait 20 minutes for a plain bagel with butter. Mind you, there was only one person ahead of me. Mr. Bagels is the best.

Great, fresh bagels. All the sandwiches I’ve had taste great. Tuna and chicken salad are fresh. I come here a lot. Great option for lazy weekend mornings. Not many options in this nieghborhood, but this is a great place for a breakfast sandwich!

My local bagel spot. Anytime I want a fresh bagel I usually go here. It’s close and cheap. I usually get a whole wheat bagel with lox spread. Everything is fresh and the bagels are made every morning. It may not be the best in NYC but it’s good enough for me in Ridgewood, ny

My favorite bagel place. It might not be the nicest place to sit and eat breakfast but their bagels are the best I’ve tasted. Always fresh

A very decent bagel place in Ridgewood. The bagels may lack the slightly darker crispier exterior of a true NYC boiled and baked, but otherwise they are nicely fresh and have an appealing sweetness. Coffee, toppings, and décor all pleasantly not trying too hard, although the tables are often uncleaned. I’ve read some complaints about the service. Occasionally weird things will happen like you’ll place and order and then the guy will stop midway and take someone else’s order and start working on that, and you have to remind the guy to keep working on yours. Only the tall guy does that. Order from the short guy, he’s good and has gotten faster, and order *properly*: what bagel, toasted or not, what topping, the end. For the love of god stop confusing these people.

The one and seemingly only bagel shop in my new hood… and it’s decent. Mr. Bagel is bare essentials. I don’t know if I would trust the lox here(didn’t see anyone order them and they were just sitting out in the deli case). We arrived at around noon on Saturday and they only had two kinds of bagels ready(plain and sesame). LAME. So Rus and I both got plain bagels with scallion cream cheese. They were pretty tasty. The bagels are thick and cakey. Pros: Not overpriced, decent bagels, lots of beverage options. Cons: Not enough stock of bagels, spreads are not displayed, takes forever to get your order. The iced coffee, lox and refrigeration are all questionable. Will I go again? Yes. Do I secretly hope that some bougy, overpriced bagel shop opens up soon? Yes.

A step up from a Dunkin Donuts bagel but nowhere near as good as a true NYC bagel like Ess-a-Bagel. Came around 9:15 on a Sunday and there was a small line but nothing crazy, it took almost 20 min to get out of there though, which seemed a little excessive. There wasn’t much rhyme or reason to the line after you ordered so I was worried about getting the right stuff when we checked out. Our 2 breakfast sandwiches and 2 bagels with cream cheese were all correct in the end though, so it all worked out fine. It is definitely the most convenient non-chain to go to when in the area for us so I’d probably go back!

Thought of something– Mr. Bagel doesn’t need communicating skills. Why? ‘Cause he’s MR Bagel to you! Seriously though… customer service skills, work on them.

Funny how the other 3 reviews mentioned having communication issues with the staff. This isn’t something I’d normally bring up, but I couldn’t seem to order a cup of water from the guy so finally gave up. You want a bagel, or, better yet, a bagel sandwich? This is the place in Ridgewood to go. Maybe 15 varieties… my breakfast sandwich hit the spot. It is difficult to rate how the bagels compare to others when I’ve buried its subleties in cheesy goo, but I’m going to go ahead and assume they are delicious.

The food is okay, but what really struck me was the service. I ordered a Ham, egg, and cheese sandwich(which was delicious) for the record, and a medium(16 oz) coffee. I figured you had to pay for everything first, so I wanted to pay for the coffee before I got it. But the guy didn’t understand me and ended up arguing with me over something that wasn’t even an issue! I’ll think twice about stopping here when I’m back in town…
