I have only tried the empanadas from here. Price was reasonable($ 2.00 for each empanada) and the empanadas were pretty good. I had steak and cheese. Not bad, but not amazing. Also, waitress situation was strange, I didn’t know if they would come to our table or if we had to go to the counter. I was kind of being ignored. We even walked out when they waitress finally noticed we were there and she begged us to come back in.

Popped in for some empanadas to go. The owner persuaded me to try their 3 varieties of sangria: classic red, classic white and a white sangria with mango. Mango version was Amazing!!! I ordered beef and shrimp empanadas– the beef were encased in a cassava dough which was crispy and chewy. Different than the empanadas I was used to– but very tasty nonetheless. Service was welcoming and friendly, I’ll definitely go back and try the sancocho and other main dishes. The sangria was the icing on the cake.

My husband LOVES the empanadas here but I personally wasn’t impressed when I had one. For one thing, they are VERY greasy. The chicken one I had also had some large chunks of onion in it, which I could taste. I probably should have also gotten a corn vs. wheat covering since the wheat one was not tasty for me. I swear, it tasted like they deep fry them. If these are the things you like in your empanada, you’ll be very happy going here. They also aren’t pricey, which is one plus. My husband also tells me these are traditional empanadas so if you don’t want cheese in yours, you’ll want to get some here. However, I think I’ll stick to Reuben’s, On the Border or whatever I can make at home.

Yummy! Went in the very first time and ordered peril, rice and beans! Seasoned and cooked perfectly! Went in a second time and ordered the pepper steak! Amazing! Portions are pretty large and the food is inexpensive… a plus, try the different juices they have! Coconut and sesame were delish

Was excited to find a new empanada place, and within a few blocks from where I work. I haven’t tried anything other than empanadas yet, but they were disappointing. Not bad, just not what I was expecting. But, that could be because I have gotten used to Empanadas Café(formerly Empanadas del Parque) in Corona, which I absolutely love. Will have to give the other food a chance, since others seem to like the other food.

Seen this place and tried it out. I had chicken and carne empanadas. The chicken one was very good, the carne one was OK. My bf had the steak empanada he said it wasn’t great. And we both tried the sancocho… this was good. Oh and try the coconut juice its delicious! Oh yea… the apple empanada is good!!!

I ordered a cheese empanada. It took them ten minutes to make it. When I got it, it smelled like wet dog. It was clear that they hadn’t changed their oil in weeks. The inside was a white liquid. I’m not even sure it was cheese. I’m never going back here.

Im a sucker for these little empanadas. My favorites from this place are the beef and steak empanadas. They have a chocolate and banana empanada that really is delicious. The owner is very friendly and welcoming and went through his menu with me when I didn’t know what to order.

saw this place for the first time ever and i was excited to see a non chain store or 99 cent store or cell phone store replacing the old pizzeria that used to be here. i don’t really have anything negative to say except that my mom ordered water and it took sooo long for them to bring it to her. it’s just water how long can that possibly take? also they don’t deliver. i mean i don’t really care but just a heads up. please try their coconut drink! so good! and also the items are the menu are super inexpensive. i went with my mother & sister and our full total came out to $ 7. very cool.

I was excited when I saw this new storefront. They have attractive signage and the walls are painted a cheery yellow. Unfortunately, the experience inside was a bit disappointing. The service was disorganized and odd(after ordering we were told they actually only had the«large» size of sweet plantains– what are they, pre-portioned?). The queso emapanadas were indeed an unnatural neon orange color and didn’t taste homemade either– more like they came out of a package and were heated. For a place with«empanadas» in the name, I expected better. The plantains, beans & rice were all fine but not spectacular. I realize this place is brand new, and the owner was a nice fellow, but I think I am going to stick to the emapanada cart on Myrtle Avenue for now.

Newly opened restaurant whose core nationality I impute to be Dominican based upon the bacalaitos. Confusingly, their first eponymous dish, fried-to-order empanadas, are of the Colombian heat lamp variety, namely a corn-based but somewhat dough-like crust, but in this case Cheetos-orange. Fillings are fresh: I tried the carne(which is molida – excellent), and pernil which is saltily spiced. Their sancocho is enormous, and full of meats and roots, savory without being salty. A good choice to have in the neighborhood. They also have jibaro en canoa, just to add to the confusion.
