Place is neat and empty but considering for a Tuesday night the night life is peaceful. The food looked good and smelled good and usually when I walk in a Spanish restaurant I usually order plantains but I was very disappointed. They were a little hard and not sweet at all. The pork was dry and ultimately it made me lose my appetite. The waitress didn’t even acknowledge us.

Been in the neighborhood for a few years. Tried a bunch of places around here that offer similar cuisine. Never went north toward Ridgewood. One day the Gabinator(a life long resident) told me this is where I should go. So I came and tried it out. BLOWSALLOTHERPLACESINTHISAREAOUTOFTHEWATER. this here is authentic, fresh and quality. I knew it soon as I tried just a spoon of rice. Also when you come here, you see the patrons and you know you’ve found the authentic go to neighborhood spot. Also I don’t speak much Spanish and they are always super nice to me. Some places give you a bit of an attitude(sighs and eye rolling) but these guys just give me another server. GRACIAS!

Pretty good Dominican restaurant. It is very similar to all the other restaurants in the neighborhood but their fruit flavored shakes are so good and fresh.

There are so many spanish restaurants that its rare when one can stand out from the other. However this place… it stands out. My goodness, what shouldnt you try? I usually order the Pernil with Arroz con Gandules or the carne guisada con arroz blanco(pork shoulder with rice and green beans or stewed beef with white rice). Their food is awesome. Even their breakfast is great. Whats great is that the food is very fresh and you see them bringing out fresh food constantly. They could however use some help on the pastelillos and the alcapurias because thats where they fall short. But everything is great. And the prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. Try it out.

LEGIT. You can smell the deliciousness from down the block and in the train station right above. Massive portions, great and clean* food. Delivery times are always long but knowing this I always order early on. Phone orders can sometimes feel rushed but I always get what I order. * Very important to note when it comes to these kind of restaurants.

Where do I start? Oh, I know… DONOTUSETHISRESTAURANT’S CATERINGSERVICE. JUSTDON’T. So, we ordered like 20 chickens and 2 roast porks for a party. Went in person for payment to make sure everything went smoothly. Payment was made WAY before the day of the party. So here we are, the day of the party, running around trying to get everything done and NOT thinking about catering since there were several in-person and telephone conversations to make sure everything was squared away. Delivery was scheduled for 2:00PM; at 4:00PM the food was still not there. We were told they didn’t have anything scheduled for catering but that they would check. We had to go in in-person to resolve this. Once there the manager then proceeded to tell us that«there’s nothing I can do about this; want a beer?» A beer??? yes, a *&%$ beer! He defiantly then said, «well, what do want? Want your money back?» Trust me, we wanted to say yes but the party was underway and people were hungry. Needless to say, I’ll never order from here again. The service sucks BEYOND imagination. You can try it if you like but when they forget your order or mess it up for an important event, remember… I TOLDYOUSO!

I love there food. The service is decent and the breaded steak is the best meal. The price is average and on the weekends it gets busy after 8. The waitresses are sometimes good looking. That’s a bonus since I’m a great looking guy. Overall very good Spanish restaurant.

We love this place! The food is awesome and the family that works there is great too. We like that the train station is right there so it’s easy to cart our full asses back home easily when we’re done. We love the pernil and their pastelles but they have other great stuff there too!

5 stars all the way! No complaints. Had a little wait for the food, but may be that’s why it was amazing. We even took food to go!

BEST hispanic food ever! This is probably one of my all time favorite restaurants. The food is always fresh and so authentic. I’ve lived in Ridgewood for almost a decade, and this place has been a gem ever since I moved here. It’s kinda small and noisy inside, so I would recommend taking the food to go or ordering delivery. If you’re looking for REAL hispanic dishes, this is your place.

My little brother loves coming here after school everyday, he refuses to eat in any other Spanish restaurant and I’m the same way! The food is good but the waiters don’t know any English. It’s a small space but it has about 15 tables and it’s good for family friends or even a date.

Getoff the M train at Seneca Avenue and that perfume of rotisserie chicken will tickle your nostrils. Run downstairs to Jorge’s and indulge yourself in some comforting Dominican eats. Take out or dine in the food is quality and service is bueno!

Very good food here. The restaurant is clean and the food is fresh. When I worked at a local community center, they frequently donated food for fundraisers and events, so they give back to the community. As with every place, they have their employees that have off days and can be a little less than friendly but I would say 9 times out of 10 they are friendly, fast and fair priced. The dinner specials feed your whole family at a great price. The chicken and pernil are tasty, the mondongo is killer(my favorite in the area) and the mangu in the mornings is flavorful.

Usually get my Latin food from Estrella Del Mar but since I pass Jorges all the time coming off the M train I decided to give it a shot. Got the number 1 family dinner which is a whole chicken, large order of white rice, large pinto beans, large salad and a 1 liter Pepsi for $ 19.00. Not a bad deal as we had alot of leftovers. The chicken itself wasnt bad but wasnt as good as Estrella. It was a bit spicier but also less moist. The beans were decent and the salad was really just shredded iceberg with a few thin tomato slices. Maybe it’s because I am Italian and we take salads serious but 2 ingredients is not really a salad. They gave me a cup of their house dressing and it was an odd tasting, very spicy dressing. My girl actually thought I put hot sauce on her salad. The service was friendly and I had no language issues as is sometimes the case at Estrella but overall I will probably go back to Estrella for my chicken fix. May stop in Jorges again for the Oxtail stew which looked pretty good.

I stopped by for dinner the other night, and I ordered the rices and beans with beef stew. It was tasty, and more than enough for lunch the following day. I definitely plan to stop by again!

My husband and I frequent this place on a weekly basis. Living in the vicinity of it, makes it near impossible to not have you craving their rotisserie chicken. The smell is a part of the neighborhood and if you get off the M train at the Seneca stop, it seduces you. You know in the old Looney Tunes cartoons when the toon would smell something and his/her feet would lift off the ground and their nose would follow the scent? Thats what will happen to you! The food is delicious!!! The tostones are the right kind of crunchy, the maduros are the right kind of sweet, the mofongo comes in about 6 different varieties(chicken, beef, codfish, shrimp etc) and theyre all good! It is pure dominican/puerto rican food that makes you feel like your eating the best from Abuelas cooking. The restaurant is located on the corner of Seneca and Palmetto, underneath the train. The setting is a family style little restaurant. They have two flat screen TVs, a jukebox which plays latin music at a comfortable setting so you can hear yourself speak. I want to say there are about 10 small tables max. Its not a place where you can come with a party of 15 and expect to sit together. You would probably take up the majority of the tables. LOL! If you try this place, it will not disappoint. Oh and they DELIVER!!!

I cannot believe that we lived in the area for 6 months before giving Jorge’s a try. When you walk in, it appears to be a take-out type place, but I like to wait to be seated for better service and larger portions. The Beef Stew is a serious serving of beef and side dishes for only $ 7. It is easily enough for two meals. The Chicken Soup is also excellent for those cold days or times when you need some comfort food. I love their milkshakes– the papaya and orange milk are my favorites. The maduro is sliced thin so they are nice and crispy on the edges. Just under the Seneca stop on the M train, you cannot miss this place. It looks like a glowing Latin TGI Fridays. The door says that they take credit cards, but seriously this place is cash only folks.
