My daughter and I both see Dr. Ireland. We think he and his staff are top notch. They will work with you on appointments and try to be flexible. All are very agreeable to work with. Dr Ireland is very kind and patient. Explains everything he is doing and why he is doing it. Good eye glass selection as well.

I’m probably one of his oldest patients(not in age, but in tenure). Sadly I’ve gone so long I have the eye charts memorized(yes, it’s a hidden talent) so my exams go like this«I know it’s a B, but if I pretend I didn’t I would say it looks like an O.» I started coming to him when I was 6 because I had a bit of wandering eye. Dr. Ireland believes in ocular therapy so I went twice a week for something like a year, needless to say my eye no longer wanders(yay!). Somewhere along the way he also started treating my vision too and I’ve never had any complaints; he’s always very thorough. I wear hard contacts and when I had trouble with the lenses fitting properly he sent at least 3 pairs back and didn’t charge me until everything was right. My parents even started going to him too somewhere along the way. The only negative is actually in many ways a positive. Dr. Ireland always runs behind schedule(at a Dr.‘s office? Shocking!). The reason he’s usually late is that he gets to know his patients and gets chatty. My appointments usually take forever because he’s seen me grow up so we have a lot to talk about. He also teaches at the Illinois College of Optometry. Bottom line, it’s important to treat you and your eyes right and believe me he will.
