Been here a thousand times but went today for first time all year since they close all winter and the ice cream didn’t taste the same. MY wife and son mentioned it as I was driving and I said it couldn’t be this is old reliable, but when I got home I tasted it and they were right. Very loose consistency, melting everywhere and not that thick firm ice cream you normally get here. Hopefully this get fixed quickly as I am sure all the locals can tell also there is something wrong with the ice cream today. Please fix it I would hate to not come back all summer now. Was all soft serve.

I love going to Curly’s every time I’m home. The ice cream is always delicious. The owners are very nice and they just opened up another store near by.

My family loves to come and here and celebrate and relax! After a sports game win-check! After a long trip to the mall-check! After a tired hike– check! This is the local place to go and get cooled off with ice-cream! I wasn’t sure if it was open year round– but it was today!

This is my go-to ice cream place in the summer. The ice cream is amazing, especially the soft serve. They also have a giant selection of toppings and can make so many kinds of ice cream based treats. Don’t let the long line scare you, the employees are all very sweet and the line moves quickly!

Whipped cream not included! I just went last week and a small cup was $ 4.18??? They said their prices increased. Whipped cream is 42 cents alone(uh, isn’t this usually included?) so plus tax, you’re paying close to 50 cents for a squirt of canned, process Reddi-Whip. Besides the price increase, I have found that on 3 separate occasions their ice cream has been frosty and not smooth. Also, they often are training so many new people so they mess up your order a lot or overcharge you and you have to explain why it’s wrong. Prices are often inconsistent because they just tack on random things. I won’t be coming back here anymore. Price is ridiculous and quality downhill.

Great Ice cream. You can tell by the line that always awaits, but well worth it.

I’m rating this for my family since they absolutely love this place. I have no idea how good it is since they don’t serve vegan ice cream. I do know that the lines for this place are so long they had to install the zig zag stanchions. They serve soft serve with a twist that is my husbands favorite, shakes and sell cakes.

Always a line at Curly’s — because it is THEBEST. Super creamy, not overly sweet. The vanilla softserve is my favorite. Been coming hear for years — wish I knew about it longer.

Ice cream is top notch. I had the salted caramel and rocky road. I was able to try the maple bacon but they didn’t have enough for a full scoop. Serving sizes are generous. Only thing I wish I knew before going was that it’s more a stand. There are outdoor picnic benches and ample parking spaces.

I can’t get enough of Curly’s in the summer, and I’m definitely not the only one who thinks so! This place is busy every night in the late spring/summer! The ice cream and Italian ice are delicious! If I could eat Curly’s ice cream every night, I would! I recommend getting there before 7 because the line gets pretty long and the parking lot is not huge! However, the ice cream is definitely worth the wait!

Really like this place. Friendly staff and lots of flavour choices! Coffee flavour is good. Wish the banana didn’t have Oreos stuck in it but my kids like the place and we will be back. Chocolate shakes a hit!

What a treat! Curly’s offers delicious, fresh, homemade ice cream. Super large portions, too! I thought my small on a cone was a large,(about 2 scoops). They offer really interesting flavors, like Maple Bacon or Cookie Monster(which stains your mouth and lips blue). The staff is very friendly and patient, ask for a sample, they don’t bite!

Took our daughter here on a Sunday night for a special treat as we always do at least once a week. The line was long and we were lucky to even get a parking spot. It was a bunch of younger kids(maybe college age) which were surprisingly fast at taking care of everyone. When we got to the window they seemed very nice. I asked for a sample which was great that they gave it to me. I placed our order, which they recommended the kiddie cone for my daughter, that I did not even know they had. There are 2 things I was a little disappointed with. 1. I ordered the waffle bowl which in my opinion was not crunchy at all. I would have thought it would be like the cone but don’t know if it is supposed to be that way. It is just my opinion I would have liked it crunchy. And 2. They need to find a way to get a few more ways of sitting area. Being its like one big parking lot they are located on, you have cars coming right off of 23. With as many kids that are there you want to have enough space for them to eat the ice cream and not have to worry about the cars. They do have a bench next to the building and a few picnic tables(I saw 2 but may have been one or two more). Other then that I will definitely be bringing my daughter back on a regular basis.

It’s more hype than anything. The vanilla shake was plain and not the best I ever had. The ice cream was regular. I was lucky to get there when it was a short line but the service was still slow. Maybe I showed up on a bad day for them. But I went there today and don’t think I will make any special effort to go again.

Hands down, thee best ice cream spot in the area! Curly’s is an old school ice cream walk up that’s been around forever(since 1958), because they know what their doing. What sets Curly’s apart from other ice cream shops in the area, is the fact that they make their own ice cream. Their ice cream is always super fresh and creamy. Plus, thier flavors are pretty awesome. Vanilla Nutella, Coconut Cream, and Canoli are always a solid choice, but thier seasonal flavors are dope; the Pumpkin spice is very good and that Eggnog Chip is Ah-mazing! They also have frozen yogurt, which tastes just like ice cream. The place is always busy, which of course is a good sign. Even on a cold winter day, they still have a steady flow of customers, but during the summer the line can get crazy, like a theme park line crazy… But don’t let the line intimidate you, the staff do a great job of moving the line quickly. Unfortunately, they close during the slow season for a little over a month; from December 24 to the first weekend in February. I love me some Curly’s Ice Cream!

Definitely my favorite ice cream spot in NJ. My go to flavor is vanilla Nutella, which is exactly what it sounds like… it has huge chunks of frozen Nutella in it and it’s just completely amazing. Chocolate peanut butter, blueberry pie, and cannoli are also awesome. I’m not really into them, but my boyfriend loves the flurry/twister things that you can mix toppings into. The staff is always friendly, it’s pretty cheap, and they have good parking. It can get pretty crowded in the summer and they don’t have much seating(or lighting, if you go at night) so taking it to-go is your best bet. They’re open til 10 but the line is usually so long that if you get there a little after, you’ll probably be ok.

Serving ice cream for 3 generations, since 1958. This place is a local, family owned spot with a long storied history. Most locals remember coming here for ice cream as a kid, regardless of their age. Soft serve, homemade hard flavors, shakes, floats, flurries and ice cream floats(even birch beer is offered as an option … Doesn’t get more«NJ» than that!!) Portions are good and prices are reasonable for Northern NJ and the surrounding area. Be prepared for an «ice cream conga-line» on a warm summer night but the line moves quickly. Curly’s is worth a visit :)
