Purchased a pound of jelly cookies and butter cookies. Both were stale! What happened? Used to be good.

Great bakery & great service! We are very lucky have them in town. Their chocolate croissants are one of my favorites! I highly recommend them!

$ 3 spinach pie at the Union Square greenmarket was greasy and tasteless.

The best apple cider donut I have ever had. And I don’t really like apple cider donuts. They fry them so they still have a crisp on them, but yet sweet and airy. And for 75cents, it’s a steal. I am a donut snob and it’s not uncommon for me to drop $ 4 on a donut. Check them out at borough hall farmers market in BK on Tuesdays.

There is a farmer’s market where Francesca’s Bakery set up a booth selling their baked goods in Jackson Heights and I used to go there often to get breakfast every Sunday. Over the years, their goods have degraded considerably. I remember, a few years ago, they had danishes for $ 1.50 and they were extremely scrumptious. The dough was crispy and they were perfectly sweet and had a lot of filling in them. Today, I just got a danish — they went up in price $ 2 and they taste terrible. The dough is stale and very salty. What kind of danish is salty. I guess times change. :(

There are quite a few bakeries in this area, with each having something great. This bakery has great scones, and sad face cookies that are quite funny and which taste great. The chicken pot pie is great-it’s filled with mashed potatoes and is tasty. The quiche is also very good. They seem to sell out of certain items quickly so probably the earlier you go in a day, the better. The owner is very nice and helpful.

I love stopping by this bakery for donuts – the seasonal pumpkin or apple cider ones are amazing! The bread is fresh and the owner is friendly, which are simply additional perks to having this as a local institution. Oh, and when I’m too lazy to cook dinner, I can pick up a quiche or chicken pot pie here as well. One final must-try is their apple oat muffin: it is moist and not overly-sweetened like most muffins are.

I walked in this bakery about 3 weeks ago and have gone back every day for my morning croissant ever since, except Mondays because they are closed. No worries, my wife picks me up two croissants on Sundays. These croissants are flakey and so buttery with the perfect amount of chew. I walk in every morning with the intent of trying something new but when I see those fresh croissants in the display, I can’t resist. We are going to a friends house this weekend and we are bringing desert. I look forward to trying a sample of their other offerings. Whatever baked goods you want, rest assured that if they make it here it will be made the best it can be.

Just moved to the area and am always looking for a place that makes fresh bread. I was really surprised how great the Panella bread was. $ 3.00 a loaf for fresh bread is much better than the fake stuff you get at te supermarket. Also, they make fresh donuts that were awesome, not like the old stale one’s at dunkin donuts. If didn’t try their cake or cookies but I’m sure I will. Also still need to try their empanadas. I’ll keep you posted!

I recently discovered this bakery and I have tried several of the items, all of which were great. I LOVE the doughnuts! They are much better than Dunkin Doughnuts and even cost a little less. The service is always friendly. This is a great alternative to a supermarket bakery to get something nicer.
