Such a bad experience we waited 10 min for a table. Then sat for about another 15 min before our server greeted us. Once she took our drink order it took forever to get our drinks! Overall it’s slow service and they need to dust. The food was decent but not good enough to put up with the bad service.

My husband and I came here for breakfast after a hike on a Saturday. They weren’t too busy because the rush had already died down.
We decided to sit outside because it was a beautiful day. They have a nice seating area outside that is quiet and you can hear the surrounding water fountains, which was nice. However, there were a couple tables outside that were still messy with plates and food left on the tables that hadn’t been cleaned up yet. I feel that it’s important to immediately bus and wipe down the tables once people leave because it is a reflection of how clean your restaurant is. Especially if it wasn’t too busy, then this should really be taken care of.
Our server was SO nice and on top of it. I could tell that he was a genuinely sweet person.
I ordered the breakfast burrito with eggs, cheese, potatoes, sausage, and bacon. It also came with salsa. This was a pretty good breakfast burrito! I would definitely have it again – great balance of ingredients and not super salty.
My husband and I also split a strawberry waffle with whipped cream which was also tasty. The waffle was nice and crispy.
The prices were also reasonable.
Overall, I had a good experience. The food was good, our server was pleasant, and it was a nice location. I will likely be back.

This review is strictly for the chicken fried steak which is the best I’ve ever had. Warning: you’re going to be deeply disappointed if you order any of their sweet breakfast dishes.
However, anything they serve with gravy arrives as a huge portion and the gravy is some kind of magical. I’ve tried their sandwiches and their nachos and they were pretty good, but I can’t say anything equates to the chicken fried steak.

Love this place!!! The best food in riverside hands down, the atmosphere is so nice, and you can sit outside if you choose. I love the breakfast, 2 2 2 combo.

My husband and I come here often for a quick bite. Depending on your server, we have been pleased 99% of the time. There are a few exceptional people who we actually prefer because their customer service is above and beyond every single time regardless of how busy they are. Brad, I thought to be one of the owners because he is so invested in his patrons and cares for us like we were invited to his home for a meal. I hope he is recognized for his exceptional service. Mark, Peter, Stephanie and Brenda are the others we prefer because the too always are very attentive and give excellent customer service and make us feel at home every time we come. Breakfast lunch, dinner or happy hour, the food is always hot and the chicken tortilla soup is the best we’ve had in the area. Watch the chicken tacos on taco Tuesday though, did not agree with my husband one time but that’s the only thing we’ve had an issue with out of all our vists. If had one thing to say needed improving, it would be a deap cleaning and update. Still love the food and services. We will continue to visit frequently!

Well — it’s been 4 years since I had a meal here – and it wasn’t breakfast and it was delicious.
A friend and I had a late lunch-​both of us got a burger of some kind… she had a bacon avo-​cheese burger and requested a wrap (lettuce) instead of a bun and it was BEAUTIFUL.
I had a avo-​cheese burger, w/​grilled onions on grilled sour dough – it was superb
We both had fries – crisp on the outside-​fluffy on the inside!

Sitting here at the crest café having breakfast. Been here several times now for lunch too. Food is absolutely delicious. Place is clean and quaint. It has covered patio seating as well. I rarely order anything that requires syrup as I don’t like cold or room temp syrup. Today though I ordered something that included French Toast if which was nice and fluffy and to my surprise the two syrups brought to the table were hot. Oh my happy day. I totally suggest giving this place a try. Never seams too busy. Great service and you can usually find the owner a table away ensuring all is good.

I would have loved to give this place five stars, I really would have. They allow dogs on the patio (which is why we chose this place), and they are located in a very cute shopping center in Riverside with a little stream running through it (Canyon Crest). Unfortunately, I can’t do that.
First off, we (my mother, grandmother and I) sat on the patio with my mom’s dog, Jack. The table right next to us had old food that had never been cleared off the table… and I’m talking hours old, crusty and smelly. We asked the waitress to have it cleared, which she did, but at her leisure. The stench of the rotting hot wings was disgusting! Then I get my drink and there was dried white stuff on the side. My guess would be old salad dressing that wasn’t cleaned off. We should have left right then.
We get our salads with dressing on the side, which were okay at best. Dinner comes (chicken Milan), the sauce was so incredibly sweet it tasted like they added sugar packets to my plate before it came out. Very weird flavor. My mom’s chicken cacciatore was oily and lacking flavor and consistency. My grandma’s burger was good, according to her.
I think the worse part of our meal was by the time we went to leave, the dressing on the side (ranch) had turned yellow. I have no idea why, nor do I want to know. We kept joking (although not funny) that we were going to end up with food poisoning by the end of the night. Thankfully we didn’t get sick, but I will never go back and take a chance at getting sick. Not to mention, the food is way overpriced for what you get.
If I were you, I would steer clear.

My daughter & I just had lunch here today. I ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich & she ordered the veggie sandwich. Both were very good.
Definitely would like to return for breakfast.

We used to grab lunch here when we both worked in the area. We always liked the Grilled Caesar Salad which we both got today. A man sits us down and places menus on table and promptly turns and walks away without uttering no greeting whatsoever, my wife tells me he is one of owners. Our Salads come and we notice they are much smaller than before… hmmmm. The Star of the show… The Chicken Breast was thin and like it had been sitting out all day as it was tasteless and dry. Waitress sees my wife needs refill and brings her one and mine is sitting empty when she returns. I thought she would bring me one back but not the case as I spent eating ½ my salad trying to get her attention. Adding this all up…$ 35 for 2 Salads and drinks wasn’t worth it especially with poor service.

The food is always decent, and they are always accommodating to whatever you need. I would give them a higher rating, but they are clearly understaffed (especially on Sunday brunch days). This makes service shoddy and the very kind staff, that is working hard, look bad. Also, no changing table in either restroom! For an obviously family friendly establishment, they really need to meet the bathroom needs for ALL ages. Other than those two things, it’s a local go-​to of ours for the consistently good food.

Usually come for dinner which is good thought I’d give breakfast a try not bad good Lil spot to come to and Close to home

The blacken chicken sandwich was good, the service was fair, the salsa was really good! The crispy taco was as expected, the enchiladas were ok… The ambiance is average

I really enjoyed my time in Crest Café.
So, I’m not a breakfast person. I don’t crave pancakes, eggs or bacon. So I won’t be going in the morning to crest café.
I want my carne asada plate with rice and beans. So i will only be coming in the afternoon for my dinner.
Also, my partner and I were given proper costumer service.

It’s a ok restaurant.
Came here after the lunch rush, so it was basically empty when my friend and I came.
Service was pretty slow even though there wasn’t that many tables… We got seated in a area where our waiter couldn’t see us. :(
As for the food. The portions are HUGE. Well, for the burgers. I haven’t tried their other food, so I wouldn’t know how those are. I got the Avocado Cheeseburger with onions and no cheese (I know I know, why order a burger without cheese?, cuz I’m not a big fan of cheese on my burgers that’s why.) It was good, but I kind of wish it had some flavor into it. My friends BBQ Bacon Burger was good, it had flavor because of the BBQ sauce lol. I also got the regular margarita since it was Margarita Monday’s. It was ok, it was a deal, so I didn’t expect much. It’s a lot though.

This place is amazing! I have eaten here for dinner and breakfast and every time is like the first time. The staff always greets you upon arrival and additionally the staff is very well informed of the menu items. For dinner I have had the jambalaya and the wings, both of which were awesome. The portions are really large, which makes you feel very full with some left for later. The prices are very decent, and nothing costs more than $ 20. For breakfast I tried the Hot Louisiana Omelette and Belgium Waffle. Again, never disappointed. With customer service being great and the food being even better plus reasonably priced items, I can give this spot nothing but 5 stars all across the board!

Love the lace. Been coming here for over 10 years. Food is good and service too. It’s not a five star restaurant but if you’re looking for great food, you’ll like it here. Plus their deep fried ice cream is awesome. Better than any other restaurant that serves it.

Wow, this place had the best breakfast I have ever had. I have been to many brunch places around. But this one was really good.
I got the southern breakfast which was delicious. But my friend got the Louisiana omelette. Definitely try it. It will change the meaning of omelette for you
The only star that I didnt give is for their couches which were old and torn.
But the food is amazing.

We’ve been going to this place for years. I couldn’t believe I had not yet reviewed this place! For great American food and even a small bar area, Crest Café is your place. They also have a Mexican food menu as well.
Some may think the prices area high but take into consideration the servings are not skimpy. You get a lot of bang for your buck. The servings are huge!
My most recent trip was with my son. He ordered the turkey burger and I ordered the half sandwich with salad and side of apples.
The squaw bread is delicious. The food is fresh. The service is fantastic. What more can you ask for?
Great place. Highly recommend. Breakfast, lunch, dinner or even drinks at the bar. They’ve covered all their bases.

Delicious! Came here once for breakfast and a second time to try their lunch menu. The «Banana Nana» pancakes I ordered were perfect — crisp along the edges and soft & gooey on the inside! I am not a dainty eater, but these pancakes were so sweet and filling that I was only able to finish half.
The second time I came I ordered the vegetarian burrito and was offered complimentary chips and salsa — Yum!
Service was wonderful both times. Great local spot.
