I lunch with a group of friends every Monday. After several years of dining throughout Riverside, we elected Jammin Bread for the first time. This is the first time I have written a review, as well. I was expecting excellence. This place does not deserve the reputation awarded to it. I had to go to the counter and stand in line to order a Cesar salad with chicken and a glass of water. The total bill was $ 17. I requested a regular cup for the water that I had to get myself and got an eye roll and sigh from the cashier. When my salad was delivered, it arrived on a paper plate and sported half a dry chicken breast. One of the selling points, the bread, was served with no butter. All this for $ 17. When the California Legislature recently increased the minimum hourly wage to $ 15, the owner of Jammin Bread was interviewed by the Press Enterprise. She whined about the wage increase, claiming that paying $ 15 per hour to her employees would put her out of business. I summit that the exorbitent prices for a salad that I had to order from a counter and that came on a paper plate are more than sufficient to support a living wage for the staff. Hope someone else enjoys this overpriced meal served with attitude. It will not be me.

«The best French Onion soup I’ve ever had» says my 91 year old father. It is an important part of our Saturay routine– lunch at Jammin Bread!

Second visit after a terrible first experience. The young lady in the front counter was very polite and friendly. I ordered and individual chocolate pie to go. It was reasonably priced and tasted ok. I also ordered a London fog, which was a bit expensive but delicious. I noticed positive interactions and great customer service. The service charge for credit cards is now gone. If this improvement continues, I would probably become a regular here.

Overpriced and under seasoned. I ordered a half turkey sandwich on honey wheat seed bread, with a side of soup(Cuban black bean). There is absolutely nothing special about this meal that warrants the $ 13 price ticket. I had to re-season everything to eat it. It also took a long time. Cute scenery. However, the menu is all over the place so it makes it very difficult to understand/order.

I came here recently and seems like there has been a price hike. I know profit margins are tight in the quick service industry but $ 8.63 for granola w/fruit and $ 13.50 for a sandwich was too steep for me. I still really like the granola and warm focaccia sandwiches, but there are too many other places I’d rather eat in the $ 15 lunch range. Also, the lemon bars are the best.

Too expensive for what you get and good grief the front counter girl taking my order shouts at you! Tone in down girl! Won’t be back

Bonus for ambiance. Not a breakfast spot imo unless you want granola or bread and jam. Went over to east coast bagel for some substance.

We finally made it out and got some fresh baked bread and pastries. EVERYTHING is great! We asked about dairy free and they knew exactly what is in each item and that is very hard to find. It’s nice to find delicious dairy free treats! Everything is so clean and customer service is AMAZING! We will be back before the weekend.

The staff is always rude, every single one of them. Given this place several tries over the years and unfortunately always end up disappointed. The food is fresh and I am not picky but I always end up disappointed with what I get.

Service from the curly dark-haired gal was terrible. Think Kardashian accent meets across-the-room projection… Yeah, annoying asf. Did she really have to announce to the whole restaurant that I wanted a little more lemonade in my Arnold Palmer only to find out there was none to begin with? There was a half-hearted apology only after reprimanding the other gal in front of everyone for forgetting to put their special lemonade that’s oversweetened anyway. The positive: Food is always fresh and it’s been entertaining writing this review, but if you want to be spoken to in a condescending tone, get serviced by the curly dark-haired gal. ½ Grilled cheese, ½ veggie sandwich with fruit, and a condescending tone only costs you $ 30. Tip to the owner: keep your employees as fresh as your food.

The sandwiches are really good. The bread is so fresh and delicious. The quality of meat is great. I love all of the sides(fruit is super fresh and the potato salad is my favorite). However, it is a little pricier than I would like to spend on a sandwich. I would have given it four stars because of the price, but the customer service made up for it. My toddler was upset because he didn’t get his way. One of the girls went out of her way to make him happy. It was one of the sweetest gestures I have witnessed in awhile. I wish I had gotten her name because I really appreciated her kindness.

This place is an absolute hidden gem of Riverside! The inside décor is too cute. I ordered a tuna salad sandwich on Ciabatta with a side order of fruit. I ordered a whole sandwich and was SHOCKED to see that the total was $ 13.99…for a sandwich!!! I’m not going to lie, I was pretty appalled… quietly to myself… Disregarding the CRAZYPRICEFOR… a SANDWICH…, the place is pretty good. I really liked the tuna salad. Presentation was lovely and the bread was very unique//they bake their ciabatta with onions on top! Most likely won’t come back for a sandwich that expensive, but maybe I’ll return for some coffee and a pastry!

I love this place. Simple Simons had been my local of choice, but after numerous attitude issues with the owner there, I defected and haven’t looked back. J&B is kind of a funky quirky colorful full of life sort of place. The décor is creative and makes me happy. The chairs aren’t super comfy, but the warm inviting atmosphere and friendly accommodating staff makes up for it. I love their English Muffins and have never been disappointed with any of their beverages, hot or cold. I also like to visit their day old items. They sell these things for half-price. I enjoy picking up a mingled package of bread with several types of bread in one bag. Fresh enough for several days.

There aren’t too many sandwich shops in Riverside and since this one is close to my house I really want to like it. I’ve been many times, and sometimes the service is great, other times very slow. The bread is fresh and my vegetarian friend loves the veggie sandwich. However, for the price, I’d rather visit Simple Simons.

Walking into this place is awesome. I really love the décor. It’s like a bakery meets an old theater’s dressing room. I hope that makes sense, but really, the décor is unique. I even love the chalk boards displayed everywhere and their random curtains hanging everywhere. I wanted to fall in love with this place, but my experience was not that great. They have an open kitchen, which I think is great. I love being able to see who is making my food and watching the cooks on the line. I don’t think people should be wearing tank tops and wiping their sweat on their arms as they make sandwiches though. It was a bit unappealing, but alas I’m not picky. I can get down with the blood, sweat, and tears being put into good food. I ordered a Turkey Sandwich. It was a pretty basic sandwich, so I figured it would be fine. Their turkey is 100% flavorless. There is absolutely no sodium content in it. It was cooked great and could have been the best turkey I’ve ever had, but holy moly have you ever had unseasoned meat? It’s not a fun time. The pasta salad was okay. I liked the olives. The cappuccino made me sad inside. It tasted like a really milked-down coffee. I wasn’t expecting the best cup of coffee in the world or anything. It was a single shot cappucinno, but it just tasted like warm milk with a hint of coffee/espresso flavor. It wasn’t very good. I’m pretty bummed about my experience. I’m going to come in again and hopefully have a better experience. I really want to love this place, so here’s to trying it out again.

This is the second time I’ve walked into this place and walked right out because of how rude the service is. I usually don’t mind if people are having a bad day or are just plain rude but this place takes it to a whole new level. It’s like they go out of their way to make sure you see they don’t want you in their store. It really is horrible and if I owned this place I would be upset with my staff because of how much business they are turning away.

Friendly down to earth place to have a wonderful espresso and english muffin. Owners are wonderful and put out the best food. The girls are a delight. Extremely friendly. Great place to have a small meeting.

I didn’t know about Jammin’ Bread until going with a couple friends that were already fans. The interior of this little place is unique in décor and has a warm feel. I believe we were the only college-aged students besides the employees. Already a fan of the Canyon Crest shopping area, I enjoyed the environment: quiet, studious, and a nice getaway from the immediate UCR area. The food reminded me of Simple Simon’s, but a bit more soft and perhaps just a bit more savory. I ordered a roast beef sandwich on sourdough with cheddar(cheese will cost about a dollar extra), red onions, and dijon mustard. The sandwich was delightful. The meat was a bit rare, but this was to my liking. The sandwiches are a bit pricey, but come with a side such as salad or soup. I chose potato salad, which was small but delicious and tasted homemade. Everything tasted deli-fresh. My only recommendation would be to have more staff on board during lunch hour. Our food took a little while, but the service was great. I plan to try their coffee next time!

I ordered turkey on half and pastrami on the other. Best sandwich in this shopping center. Ambiance nice with the water feature. Friendly staff. Home made breads and desserts here. Paid $ 11 for lunch is was so worth it. Value about right.
