Express Nails

Despite all the negative reviews I read… This place was great! My daughter and I get pedicures. The Women/​staff were really quite pleasant and friendly. Our toes came out great!

The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because Denise & the rest of the girls aren’t at fault for Mindy’s extremely rude attitude.
My sister is home from spring break from UCSC & we love Dennis. She’s awesome, she does a great job all the time & she’s always so friendly & sweet.
Anyway, my sister called & said she wanted 3 pedicures with Denise, Mindy was the one who picked up the phone and said okay. We get there & Mindy tells us Dennis can only take one that somebody else can take the other 2. Her attitude was just unnecessary I told my sister to go ahead and go since she’s only here a week I can always come back.
My sister got done & Denise kindly took my brother & I as well. She felt bad about the way things were handled, and it wasn’t her fault.
Overall, the place is pretty clean. The staff for the most part are great. You do have to pay an extra $ 1.00 if you’re using a card. I also highly recommend buying your own little set of tools and taking them with you when you do come get services done.

I come here whenever I need my nails done and they always do it quickly yet really well! This business has been around for almost 20 years and I can see why. My nail lady is Mindy and she’s the best

I come here when I need my nails and toes done. I go to Mindy she’s the best. This place has been around forever like 20yrs I think. My mani and pedi last about two to three weeks depending on what I’m doing during that time, this is just the regular polish not the gel. I don’t know why there are people saying they have had stuff stolen right off their bodies lol. Because if anyone wanted to take something from me they would have to knock me out first, I just don’t think any of these older ladies are capable of such things. Reasonably priced and fast I’m a girl on the go. Give this place a try and ask for Mindy can’t be too bad if it’s been here since the 90’s.

Horrible, horrible service, horrible manicurists!!! THEY STOLE MY RING! She slipped my ring off my finger while rubbing lotion on my hands, she won’t give it back or confess even when I saw her. Reported this place to the police. I hope this place gets shut down. So ghetto and unprofessional.

I was very disappointed the last time I went here. I scheduled an appointment with someone else who isn’t my usual nail technician because she is out for two months, and not only was she a half hour late to my appointment, but she rushed through the job, my nails looked like my 10 year old painted them, and I was charged more than usual for the same thing I always get done! Pretty sure I’ll be going elsewhere until Mindy comes back.

I got my nails done twice in this nail shop my French tips nail polish come off the next day i was charged 8 dlrs extra ! For this jack up job !! I’ve been there once and same thing my nail polish came off the next day… i was very angry i complained to the owner and among each other argue in their language. Finally the owner said she will pait my nails again for 5 dlrs more! Wtf! I said no!! nail express will never get my business again! The use old nail polish and diluted with acetone! No thank you!!!

The nail polish was chipping in a week and the bottoms of my feet felt rough also… I would only use this place in a pinch. It really doesnt stand up to the more expensive places where your toes can last up to a month.

This nail shop is one of my favorite in Riverside. I had my nails done her recently and it took atleast 30 minutes or less. I got a design done too (inserted a picture above) it is the teal flower nails. The ladies there are super nice and inviting. The lady that did my nails, her name is Nancy, was very sweet. This is not my usual nail place, and for a good reason. I will not be back. I got a simple gel manicure. It took way too long. 30 minute job took well over an hour! They gave me the wrong color, but by the time we got to that point, I was so over this place that i didn’t care what color they were giving me, I just wAnted out of there! Then, ten mins after I left, my nail polish cracked everywhere! So ridiculous. A waste of my time and money!

I would not recommend getting a gel manicure here. I came here after reading great reviews… and it was down the street from my son’s basketball practice. I decided to get my nails done here since I had time to kill until my son’s practice was over. I was highly disappointed. My manicure was sloppy! I always get gel manicures and never have my nails looked so awful until today!

I will start with what I felt went right and then why I gave it one star.
POSITIVES:
1. I called for an appointment and when I arrived, I was seen quickly.
2. The shop was clean.
3. There was incessant Vietnamese talk while I was there.
4. The customers were friendly.
5. Prices are in line with other shops that offer spa chairs.
NEGATIVES:
1. The process took too little time. My regular shop usually takes an hour from the time I sit down to the time I put my shoes on to finish drying.
2, My big toe nails were cut at a slight angle and she didnt see anything wrong with it. When I ask her to redo it, she did but she was very hesitant to do so.
3. The lack of communication annoyed me.
4. After painting my toes, I noticed bubbles. She did fix it but used so little nail polish, it only looked like one coat was applied.
5. After the redo, I had to ask her to clean up my skin. There was purple in places there shouldnt have been.
6. As she was finishing the clean up, two customers walked in for pedicures. She went into hyper drive at this point, ignoring me to move on to the next dollar.
7. After the redo and the removal of paint from flesh, she put a small fan in a chair to dry them. As she was so busy to move on to the next customer, she didnt make sure it was stable on the chair and it fell on my foot, smearing three of the toes. I had to tell her FIVE times that toe #3 was smeared and needing repairing also.
Up to #5, I had decided that it might not be a bad place to go back to, in case of emergency but after she checked out to attend to others before making sure I was taken care of and having to tell her so many times to fix my third toe, I taking a pass.

I ended up here because Urban Escape, across the street, was packed. So I found this place on Unilocal.
Anyways, there was only one person there around 1pm on a friday and so I was quickly helped. They were very quick and courteous, which is exactly what I wanted.
I opted for the Spa Chair Pedicure… it cost 16, a bit more because you sit in the massage chair. The massage chair kind of hurt though, so I didn’t really like that. But whatever.
Overall, good place. It doesn’t look super nice inside or anything like the other place did, but it was clean and I got in and out of there.

Here is what I love about this place… the best massage chairs I have ever experienced. besides that typical nail salon with usual prices for pedicures and fills. The staff is usually pretty friendly… they will let you stay on the chair as long as you want unless they are busy… and a plus they don’t bother you to add on things that you don’t want or ask for. So if you want a great massage while you get your toes «did» then give them a try… only other bad thing is they are not open on Sundays and they do charge you extra for using a credit card.
