This place is very good and the service is fast and friendly! If you haven’t been here in a while give it another shot. Come here for breakfast on the weekends sometimes and we are never disappointed

Airport café on funky old airport. Housed in a repurposed GI surplus building, lots of history. Food and service both much improved after recent management change. If you don’t see what you want on the menu, ask, they just may be able to whip it up for you. Tip: the «Famous Chicken,» not on thremenu, grilled skinless chicken and well-​seasoned steamed veggies, good and good for you. Great views of runway and no TSA to stop your looking over the airplanes, a lot of classics including 2 or 3 DC-​3s. Prices cheap to moderate. Good eats and lots of atmosphere.

Ate breakfast at the café on Easter morning after a hike up Rubidoux. Service was just so-​so, my particular dish was ok, but my two table companions did not particularly enjoy their food. But, it is an airport café. I wasn’t expecting gourmet just a fair meal at a fair price and that is what I got. If they want a tip, get the wait staff on the ball a bit more.

We came for Breakfast on a Saturday. There was maybe 5 people in the place tops. The service was super slow. The food was cold and bland. It probably didn’t help that the place was freezing inside. It was expensive for what we ordered and our overall experience was just terrible. The only way it could of been worse is if a plane crashed into the restaurant when trying to land.
Don’t come here. This place probably goes down as on of the top 3 worst places I have ever eaten at for breakfast.
If you are thinking of coming to this place, please turn around… No seriously turn right around and go the opposite way.

Cleanliness is lacking here. The place must have some problem with its drain lines, because there was a faint odor of sewage that permeated the restaurant. The environs are nice, and the breakfast time service was decent. I had to unscrew the lid of my pepper shaker to use it and noticed that the holes were clogged with caked pepper. They probably haven’t cleaned it since they last filled it.
Food was average. The eggs were a bit tough and the bacon was not the greatest of quality. I probably won’t go out of my way again.

Flabob café is the worst restaurant I have ever been to. Honestly, I would never go in there again… The service is VERY SLOW. It was a good 98 degrees inside. I thought I was having a heat flash at first, but it never stopped. Another guy complained about the heat and asked them to use the AC. The girl went & wiggled the AC plug, the looked at it, and went back sitting behind the counter. The hamburger buns were dry, the vegetables were hot, chewy, discolored & soggy.
I went up to ask for my check because heat exhaustion was setting in, «Hello… Excuse me?» the girl ignored me for a few minutes, then looked at me, then ignored me some more, then finally acknowledged me. It was excruciating, I was on the edge of flopping dead on the floor, and she wouldn’t even acknowledge I was standing 2 feet in front of her. I wanted to run out of the building screaming I CAN’T TAKE IT ANY MORE, RELEASE ME THIS HELL!!! I asked for the checks, and was completely shocked. My mom had a $ 6.25 burger with water. I had a $ 6.00 burger with coffee. Both checks just said $ 7.29. No item prices, before or with tax prices listed. They just said $ 7.29. She just dreams up a number that has nothing to do with what we ordered and writes it on our checks. I have never seen anyone do that before. I just wanted to get the hell out of there and never look back, so I just paid the bill and dashed out the door.
Finally, the cool soothing 85 degree heat outside seemed so refreshing after compared to that inferno. I’ve never seen a restaurant so inconsiderate of their customers.

Flabob Café is a good place to soak up the atmosphere but don’t expect everything to be
McDonalds snappy. You don’t have to bribe anyone. Try learning their names and telling them yours. Try the menudo or the home fries. Check out the daily specials on the white board. Sit at the long table in the middle and introduce yourself to one of the old timers. They won’t bite!

Our family has always had a good time there. Love to sit outside so our kids can be kids and watch the planes take off and land. The food is pretty good too. If you want a relaxing time to take the little ones, give this place a try.

Went here after dog park and sat outside with dogs on patio area right on runway. We opted for breakfast and it was so good. Prices are really reasonable.
Waitress was great, even brought out some water for the dogs.
Great place to hang out and enjoy the beautiful weather.

Try the Airport Omlett with the OBrians. The huge bowl of Menudo looked like a hit with the locals. Old GI chow hall from WW2. Nice friendly service. Model aircraft hanging from the ceiling for the kids young & old.

I’ve been eating here for years, and have always been pleased with the food and the service. This place has serious history, and is a hangout for the pilots who fly into and out of the small airport behind the café. If you aren’t into hole in the wall, hideaway style places, then don’t visit. This place is classic, run by a local, for locals. That being said, this is one of the FIRST places my friends all want to go when they visit from out of state as well. Their prices are really good for the amount of food you receive. I have always loved the chicken fried steak breakfast, and recommend it to anyone I take there. The servers are always the same (a handful of older ladies, who may be a bit slow on their feet but are always sweet to talk to) and the owner is a nice guy who is eager to please. Stop by, you won’t regret it!

This place has some history and some so so food. It’s an old school joint right next to the runway of Flatbob Airport.
You can tell from the décor this place is old as dirt. Model planes on the ceiling and photos from a blast from the past.
Food here is budget, diner food from chopped salad, to tuna melts, and clogg your heart chicken fried steak. You can get away with under $ 6 with a sandwich and fries.
Waitresses here are nice and attentive.

I had heard about Flabob Café and decided to go there with my friend. Yes the atmosphere is very good, however. I saw the frenchtoast special on the menu, looked good, and for $ 4.75 seemed like a good deal to go with. That was till I got the bill, I was charged $ 5.95 for the «special» guess thats what made it special, PLUS a charge of $.50 because I said poached eggs. My friend faired even worse, he tried a bit of his biscuts and gravy, they were cold, so he mentioned it to the waitress, she took them back, and after waiting, and waiting, he told her he still had not got them back. They were returned, microwaved, and withthe same bite MISSING… total violation of resturant law. I would not ever go back, I wouldnt trust them about my food, what if someone else also had cold biscutes and I got theirs?

I have always had an OK time here at Flabob Airport Café, but it’s not all been good. I have gone many times over the years, and only gone for breakfast. Mostly the food has been ok, but I would NEVER, NEVER again order oatmeal. I wanted to go have a nice breakfast while trying to be good on my diet (which really sucks ass by the way). Let me just say that while I want to lose weight, I never leave food on my plate, and after a few bites of that slop they had the nerve to actually charge for, I couldn’t eat any more. Then my husband thought I was getting upset about something else and didn’t appreciate going out to breakfast, but it was really the horrible runny grey instant oatmeal that I couldn’t stomach. And now I read Erin B’s review (who happens to be my best friend… that just makes me upset that the waitresses were so rude and lazy!!!
All in all though, I’m a pilot and love airplanes and love the atmosphere with airplanes and old pictures everywhere, so I just won’t get the slop they call oatmeal ever again.
