Very poor customer service. As packed as this place is, you’d think the host staff would be trained better. Just this morning hearing them make fun of people’s names, joking about how McDonald’s is open and they could go bad come back before their table is ready. People really like IHOP. Please train your staff in customer service. Your host tells people the wait time, followed by, «that’s a pretty long time if you want to wait, do you want to wait? »

It was late and we didn’t have a lot of options, Norms was packed so we looked across the street to IHOP and decided to give them a try. Service was really good, very friendly and upbeat waitress. The food was not the greatest, after a few bites I was regretting my decision on the restaurant choice. I need a dinner redo, this was no bueno.

Never again! Could’ve said our server looked like she had an attitude but she never treated us that type of way. Poor thing just looked defeated. Brandi I think her name was. Not enough staff, place was dirty, cups dirty, service was slow. These conditions I dont fault the staff but management. Its the weekend across from a mall that should tell management that means«Busy»

This was our fourth time going here. This Ihop is located tyler and magnolia. Dont go there! Their bathrooms were filthy too! Everytime we have had a bad experience. Management is terrible! We walked in no one waiting stood 10 minutes before we were even approached? wow, there were several empty tables we were there at 930am. The waitress was terrible, the table was dirty and wet, we asked the waitress for french vanilla creamer she stated they were out, yet four other tables had french vanilla creamer? A guy brought our meal and gave the wrong food to all of us. We asked for ketchip, A-1 and jam, while our meal was getting cold no one came. I had to get up and go get the items. Then the last two times, we literally waited 15 minutes in line to pay bill including today! I dam near left without paying I’m handicap and had to stand 10 minutes to be seated and 15 to pay for bill. When we made a comment he said we only have one register? Lol We spent 50 most of the time but we will not be going back. I’ll go the distance to avoid that location. Norms across the street gives great service and better prices. Your loss!

O.K. I have lived in Riverside for over 30 years and have visited this IHOP many, many times. Some time ago, the daily crowds and long wait times were warranted but those days have come and gone. Without going into detail, the last several times I have been here the food has been terrible, period. Poorly prepared, tasteless and really expensive if you think about it, which I will get to in a minute. The Plan: I decided to give this IHOP one more chance as I longed for the days when they did everything well. I got up early on a Saturday morning, arriving long before the crowds(before 7;30 A.M.) so the cook would have no excuses such as too much pressure from a slammed wheel of orders and a long line of customers out the door. I ordered my favorite(which is no longer on the menu!) the Biscuits and Gravy Combo consisting of two eggs scrambled, hash browns, 2– sausage links, 2-strips of bacon and two biscuits halved with gravy. Coffee and water to top it off. When the order arrived I could tell immediately I was in for a disappointment. First of all the eggs were not really scrambled, just stabbed a few times with a rubber spatula into large chunks, burned slightly and thrown on the plate. Hash browns, barely cooked and greasy as could be, horrible! Bacon, almost raw. I usually sent it back as it almost always comes out this way but this time I ate it hoping to get sick and sue! Sausage, well cooked, looked nice but wait… it was stringy and tasteless. Yes, stringy(not ever sure how that can be…) Finally, the biscuits and gravy… wait for it… were O.K. Biscuits were fresh, not hard as they often are, and the gravy was plentiful, hot and tasty. I was a cook when I was 16 years old… its not that hard to prepare a good meal in a modern professional kitchen. Once again, very disappointed. Worth mentioning, I did get sick! Had to go number two 5 or 6 times during the day and my stomach was horribly upset for over 24 hours, which was the last straw and why I took my valuable time to write this review. Now for the expensive part. My combo was $ 10.99 and coffee at $ 2.69 and tax at $ 1.10 and you are at a whopping $ 14.78. Add in a $ 2.00 tip and you(I) just paid $ 16.78 to get mild food poisoning! If you think about it its kind of outrageous! Bottom Line: I know IHOP is not a high end establishment but there was a day when everyone loved to go there and enjoy a tasty breakfast for a reasonable price. Those days at this IHOP are gone. Save your money, do NOT go to this restaurant for your own good. Try Brandon’s Diner or even Norms if you want a descent meal at a reasonable price. Lastly, note that the service here is generally pretty good until the waitressed get slammed. I have noticed that many of them have been here for many years and I want to give them props for the job they are doing. Its management and the cooks that are the culprits here.

First off, i thought this was the«International House of Pancakes»…how do you explain running out of pancake batter?. .another day not having ingredients for my german pancakes? Orrrrrrrr not having creamer for my coffee? This needs to be addressed to not only the restaurant management, but someone higher in rank. This is very disappointing, because i had taken my family for a nice breakfast, but only left disappointed.

Our experience here has had to be the worst service we have had here before. To start off, when we checked in they told us it would be a 30 minute wait. However, we ended up waiting an hour and a half. Also, when I went to check our place in line they told us they already called us and that we would have to wait more even though we let them know we would be waiting outside. Finally when we sat down our server Perla seemed like she was inpatient and in a bad mood. Did not take the time to fully grasp our order and when she came back with our drinks she was missing several of them. When we got our food she messed up two of our orders. We had to call other waiters over to get a hold of her. This was probably one of the worst experiences they had at IHOP. Will definitely not be coming back here

Horrible slow service. Went on a Monday Dec 28th. Waitress had 2 tables and checked on us twice, food took forever, eggs were cold and under cooked, hash browns were hardly cooked even though we all ordered them crispy. Manager or whatever he was at the front didn’t care about the crappy service. Will never go again. Go to Amy’s Café down the street, always well serviced and great sized portions.

Arrive today for a split decision and they’re out of french toast! Wth? I mean really? That’s okay I order a 2+2 with a pitcher of coffee. Coffee was weaker than my 90 yr old grandma… I told the waitress that I didn’t want it. she still charges me for it… Terrible just terrible

The employee working when I went was very polite and nice to talk to. Unfortunately the wait was slow and when we got our pancakes they were a little dry and they did not give us butter or syrup.

Worst customer service ever, the other lady waitress had 2 more tables than her & she seemed too service them better than the lady we had with other 2 tables including us. Then she messed order & she took forever to cash us out.

Saturday morning the wait was about 20 – 25 minutes to get seated. Server was friendly and gave us our drinks. The waitress must be a psychic that she already put a pitcher of coffee in our table, I think it’s too obvious that I need me some java! Decisions decisions… my brain doesn’t function as the coffee hasn’t kicked in yet so I decided to get the Split decision and split it with my little girl. The serving is huge and if you don’t have a big appetite I suggest splitting it with someone. Pancakes are always the best here, the French Toast lacks that cinnamon flavor that I’m used to and the simplicity of having bacon, sausage and eggs always makes a wonderful breakfast Price is a little higher compared to other places where they serve the same food but the quality is definitely good. I wish they would invest in one of those buzzer thingy instead of someone screaming your name when your party is being called. Overall the place is nice, it’s clean food is always amazing and the service is great.

My son wanted Ihop for dinner so I took him here. The wait staff were excellent and the food was great. And the time of day we went in was perfect because we were the only ones in there. What I didn’t appreciate was the host seating the crack head(not exaggerating) right next to us shortly after we got there. The man was barking, growling and extremely twitchy. Why would you seat him next to the 11 year old kid and his mother when the rest of the restaurant was empty??? I asked to move and our waitress was very accommodating. Other than teaching my kid to never do drugs, it was not a good experience. I hope next time they use better judgement.

I came in the other day and the manager ‘Angie’ was the RUDEST person I have ever come across at a restaurant. She gave me attitude and was sitting people with the same number of people as we did that clearly got there after us. They said the wait was 20 min. and we were waiting almost 1 hour and I had to go up to Angie TWICE telling her we’ve been skipped and blew me off both times, Luckily one worker named ‘Sergio’ noticed and immediately apologized to us and sat us down and he gave us great service and made sure we had everything we needed the rest of the time. My family and I will return here only because Sergio came and saved the day.

If Unilocal allowed me to give negative stars this ihop would definitely get it. Server CORINA was extremely RUDE. Hope her manager gives her a talk about customer service because of her we will not be going there ever AGAIN!

I am easily impressed and love eating out, so I never have given one star to a restaurant before. But I feel like iHop is worth breaking that for. Their food is way too overpriced, and I could make myself a way cheaper breakfast at home that tastes way better. Their pancakes are bland, dry and leave the worst after taste in your mouth. Even when drizzling the pancakes with syrup it still feels like card board in my throat. My brother ordered sunny side up eggs and they were way too runny! The eggs literally looked like they had cracked an egg on a plate and delivered it right to my brother. I went to iHop because I they emailed me with free pancakes because it was my birthday, but I will not even be returning even if the food is free. If you want diarrhea and like dry pancakes go to iHop. If not, I recommend Brandon’s Diner next to Ross and Big 5, which is right in the next block!

We alway order the simple and fit pancake breakfast it’s awesome! Two whole grain pancakes with blueberries and bananas! Two slices of turkey bacon and two egg whites! Ask for the small side of salsa and be sure it’s complimentary or they’ll charge you .99 cents xtra for the side dish! Also ask for the sugar free syrup to save on additional unwanted calories! If your savy go to the stater bros on la Sierra get or find a receipt and on the back its buy one get one free! Coupons are always a plus! Save money! We will be back!

I came the other night with family. It’s a smaller IHOP. And there were a total of about 8 or 9 patrons the entire hour I was there. Our waitress was sweet, smiley & giggly but never came to refresh our drinks. I had to ask for my sugar free syrup twice before she remembered… and I was not the only patron who was thirsty. I got up and refilled my own water behind the partition… and no staff noticed. I could’ve been back there sabotaging their kitchen… lol. I saw a 60+ gentleman also get up and go looking for staff for a coffee refill behind the partition. I’m just saying… I am not an IHOP fanatic but this experience did not help. My smokehouse breakfast was good tho.

Came here on a Saturday morning and it was packed! I didn’t expect to see so many people but there were a dozen or so people waiting to be seated. It was confusing at first, because I wasn’t sure who was taking the names down, but a worker popped up a few minutes after waiting. We were told the wait would be about 20 minutes, and I think we waited just about that. Once we got seated, service was incredibly fast! Our server was great. Really attentive and kept checking on us. We ordered our food and it came out in a matter of 5 minutes. Nice and hot too! Price is reasonable for the amount of food you get, but i think Ihop has become more expensive over the years. For 2 people, it cost around $ 26. It’s pretty loud inside but a nice spot to take kids since it’s already noisy inside.
