I decided to take my kids out tonight to enjoy Ruby’s 31st anniversary only to find out that this location is now closed for business. After 19 years, at this location, that’s all folks. A very sad day indeed.

Worst service I’ve ever had. Was in a hurry for work and I watched while my food sat in the window for 15 minutes. The servers were standing around talking. Another customer had to get up and ask for ketchup. The food was just ok as it was kind of cold from sitting. The manager came out and the servers went back to work. In fact it was him who eventually checked on me. Never will go back.

My favorite places to eat, have a good crowd here. If You love mushrooms the Portobello burger with a little extra kick get pepper jack cheese, diet coke with a splash of cherry. So so very good yeah I love this place.

I always home here with my bestie for their garlic parmesan fries. There is no other place that can make perfectly crispy fries with a punch in your face of yummy pungent garlic. Even better is that it’s refillable fries… Oh Yea, dragon breath here I come! I usually get the hickory smoked Bacon burger with smoky chipotle sauce. The shakes are huge, one is enough to split between the two of us.

I always come here with my family an it need disappoints. I always get the same thing every time with my mom: a Ruby Burger with either chili cheese fries or regular fries with ranch on the side and a salad because I get the combo :) It always is beer complete without a shake. I get the coffee shake and it’s amazing: D

I came here around 1-ish on a Friday afternoon and found this place quite busy. The inside was completely full, while the«outside» area still had many tables open. The«outside» was actually in the mall area with a lot of foot traffic near a main entrance, and is not a popular choice. I did not like the outside area and opted to wait for a table inside. The hostess quickly cleared a small table for me and I really appreciated it. I wanted to try their new menu item — New Gen Burger — so that’s what I ordered. It was supposed to be made on a special artisan bun and with a special sauce. The burger came beautifully assembled(see picture) and the presentation was good. However, I was not a fan of this artisan bun. It was too soft to be used as a hamburger bun and it was not toasted enough. The special sauce tasted like a tangy Thousand Island type of dressing, but it was a bit too watery. That watery dressing and the soft texture of the bun made it soggy rather quickly. The rest were all good. The patty was cooked well done as I ordered, was flavorful and juicy. Lettuce and tomatoes were fresh. Fries came hot and fresh from the fryer. Service has been good throughout. It was a good lunch. However, I don’t see the value here for an $ 8 burger. Many burger places have much better burgers at similar or even lower prices. It is still a restaurant that I will visit occasionally, but I’ll probably try something else other than the New Gen Burger.

I have been to Ruby’s several times for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This particular visit I had breakfast while I was waiting for the mall stores to open on a Sunday. I like corned beef hash and they offer a special that also includes eggs, potatoes and your choice of breads. I am not a huge breakfast potato fan so I asked for fresh fruit, which was delicious. One of the bread choices was hot beignets, just like you can get in New Orleans. They were light, flaky and oh so yummy. Now about the corned beef hash. They gave a very hearty serving of it and it was so good that I probably could have eaten more. Overall, one of the better breakfasts around! I have also had the eggs and bacon which is fairly average and their burgers which are sometimes really good and sometimes overcooked. And I should mention how amazing the shakes are, especially the Oreo! I will definitely be going back for breakfast when I am in the area, and perhaps an Oreo milkshake!

I’m a huge Ruby’s fan, but had a bad meal here today… tough chicken. Service was fine. This place falls short of my typical Ruby’s experience.

I been a loyal customer of rub’s dinner for 12 years. The people are so friendly and willing to go out of there way to help you with a smile. Why do corporate always find a way to cheapen things up? Ruby’s corporate had changed there signature BBQ sauce !!! I tried the new one and it was gross tasted like sweet watered down ketchup!!! I love the original hickory sauce and I won’t be returning!!!

Sad to say this place just isn’t as good as it used to be :/I’ve come here since I was little and the last couple times I’ve come it just hasn’t been the same. First of all I should say that the food is fine that’s not really my problem(except that a salad costs more then a burger with fries). My problem is with the service. My server today was really nice and everything but the women refilling our drinks was horrible. She was kind of sarcastic and you could tell she didn’t want to be there. She spilled water on my feet and I heard another table say she kept giving them the wrong refills. Then after the meal was over I ordered two of their newest shakes, a peppermint pattie shake and a kitkat shake to-go. When I got home and gave my mom her kitkat shake it was mixed WITH peppermint pattie! It tasted gross, it was like they made two peppermint pattie shakes and said«oh crap one was suppose to be kitkat! Oh well» and just added the kitkat also. Disappointed.

I have been coming to this Ruby’s since I was a kid. Lots of good memories here! My family and I have consistently received great service at this location and usually short wait times, which makes it a perfect pre-movie dinner destination when you want something nicer than the food court but don’t have time for the ridiculous waits at some of the other sit-downs in the Tyler Mall area. Of course, the burgers and fries are phenomenal. I prefer just a regular old cheeseburger with cheddar myself. However, another standout menu item is their chili. They make it with shredded beef, which I have never seen anywhere else. It is thick and rich, great in bowl form or smothering a pile of fries! The milkshakes are also to die for, gotta love the extra tin they give you on the side! Finally, their cherry coke is amazing as well. They make it there by adding grenadine to regular coke, which makes it better than bottled cherry Coke by leaps and bounds!

Three things make Ruby’s a great place for me. First, they serve Lemon Cokes(as mentioned in Streetcar Named Desire). If there’s any drink better than a Coke, it’s a Lemon Coke. Second, there are a sufficient variety of vegetarian options. I usually choose a basic burger, with a Gardenburger patty and whole wheat bun; but, in fact, many of their fancier burgers can be made with the vegetarian patty option. There are also Veggie Tacos, salads, and other meat-free sandwiches. Third, the portion sizes, preparation, and service quality are consistent. The only exception to this has been that lately the coleslaw seems to be more flavorful sometimes than others. I’m not sure what to think about that. The servers are friendly, the prices are reasonable, and there are nice dessert options. My favorite is the Itsy Bitsy Sunday with hot fudge; perfect combination of flavors, and just the right size!

Very consistent Ruby’s. This location is inside the Tyler Galleria. It can get pretty busy at times as the seating area isn’t overly large. But with many other restaurants in the mall to compete with it, it can hold it’s own. I particularly like the turkey patty. It is a very good alternative to ground beef. Compared to other turkey patties, this one has more flavor and is much jucier.

Fantastic place with excellent service. Their fun, soda-jerk atmosphere exists in every aspect of the small dining room. We often go to the Tyler mall, not for shopping, but for this particular restaurant! Their menu is not overwhelming, they have a variety of shakes, and their menu is always fresh. I’ve always been completely satisfied with every meal, and have never felt slighted by the staff. It’s simply delicious stuff and is a great mid-day pitstop.

I went here just for a shake, and unfortunately since they had just opened their shake machine wasn’t working yet. They apologized though and asked me to return later. When I did the ladies remembered me and hooked it up with the shake: extra cookie dough! The shake was delicious and from other experiences their food is also delicious, freshly made and delicious!

Great food, great service! What more can you ask for? A pleasant environment, kid friendly. I highly recommend this place! Our waitress LeAnne was so sweet and friendly, and so conscientious and hard-working! Now that we have discovered this hidden gem we will be going here more often. Almost forgot to mention the AMAZING garlic fries! If you like garlic, you’ll love these!

You should first note that I am not a hamburger lover. It rarely ever happens that I want a burger and I just still wasn’t feeling the burger when I came here. Their cajun fries were pretty good and so was their butterfinger malt shake. But that’s about it…

Stopped in for fries. While I was here I was reading the Unilocal reviews and I thought the one about the baby sonogram store being within eyesight of every table was funny(though not true). Service not as bad as other Unilocalers have stated, but their only downfall WAS making us wait 5 min to order at the counter. Usually people who sit at the counter don’t want to wait to order, they know what they want, so don’t let us look over the menu when we’re ready to go. Split a patty-melt and fries and it left us both satisfied! Best patty-melt I’ve had. Fries were perfect. Kept our drinks refilled(2−3x) Got check quick. Good experience. Does management read these? Pick up the pace. Tighten up the service, your food is first rate. Clean too.
