From past visits we never left feeling anything really positive. The food is mediocre, it of not bad, but definitely are better options. The biggest thing is the overall vibe. I would think it is best if you are with/in a large group of at least six, preferably loud, people dining/drinking with you. It’s just not the ideal relaxing dining experience. Maybe if you want to go balls to the wall drunk while eating then ok. We actually had to carry a friend out of there in the past. Good for local drunks I guess.

The food here is AMAZING and the service was spectacular! My Dad had the meatloaf and I had the NY strip steak sandwich both were perfect! Highly recommend coming here.

Overall it was Ok. House wine was not good. Baked clams were delish and priced right. Garbage salad(½) was way over priced $ 9.95, for a small plate; good taste and nice ingredients but too much for the amount you get. Signature Neck Bones were only Ok. There was hardly any meat; I mean out of three large hunks of bone, maybe two ounces of meat came off, which I had to work hard for. Meatballs were good. Special of rigatoni, rapini, in olive and garlic was great. The oil and garlic sauce was strong!

The owners are rude. I wouldn’t give them a dime. The food was just okay, certainly nothing special. I would never recommend due to the owners alone. The people that own and/or work at a restaurant should at least be friendly. I’ve had one good server.

Came here last night and had a great time! It’s a little far from home but I’m sure we will go back. The food is amazing — pasta with the best vodka sauce I’ve had!!! Saturday is also karaōke night and it was a lot of fun!

Great old-school local Italian restaurant! Want to feel like you stepped back in time, In good way? Then you will love the great homemade food and prices here. The pork chops Vesuvio were absolutely delicious, tender garlic goodness, served just like you expect, peas and roasted potatoes in a delicious sauce. Price is right, too. Homemade gnocchi are to die for as well as the garbage salad, loaded with salami, hearts of Palm, pepporcini and wonderful tart Italian dressing. You won’t find any new age foods here but that is what makes it such an awesome neighborhood place!

Best Italian food in the burbs! You are gonna wait for a table but it will be worth it. The neck bone ragu is old school and so good, the cavatelli and vodka sause was a slma dunk, sausage and meatballs home made and slamming with flavor. Great service, great atmosphere and a killer price. You must go here now!

I went for the neck bones on Saturday nite. Boy, was disappointed. The plate consisted of two neckbones and half a pound of angel hair pasta. All the other times I had the same dish, I got a big bowl of neckbones. Also they charged me a dollar more for the same drink that I got earlier in the bar. My wife had chicken vesuvio with jalapeño peppers which she said was good;but I don’t think it was worth $ 15.99 for just one breast. The restaurant added a new room, but the quality of the food went down and so did the service.

This place is your typical local bar/watering hole where everyone knows each and new customers are always welcome and treated like the regulars, except the food is what separates VP from the typical local watering holes. It is exceptional bar food, but your best bet is ordering one of the specials because the food is somewhat pricey

Well either I have opened my eyes more or something has taken a significant turn over at Village Pub. Meeting the waitress, who’s name I cannot recall, but it was a Caucasian middle aged woman. She made zero eye contact and was not friendly at all. She was monotone and didn’t offer much help when I was trying to decide between dishes. Got the clear vibe that she was only there to get her base pay because she really wasn’t trying to win us over to get a good tip. Also– the food did take a little longer to come put but that might be my fault since I ordered the lemon chicken and everyone else either ordered a burger or pasta. My father actually walked out and left because it was taking so long and he had somewhere to be. When mine came out, I was expecting something really good– obviously, that’s what we all expect when we go out to eat but I had previous experience with this place where this was not a problem before. I was thoroughly disappointed with my dish. The chicken was dry and the potatoes that it came with tasted more like potato chips than anything else. Definitely not the kind that should be paired with lemon chicken. I picked at mine for a while before giving up.- very disappointed. The rest of my party wasn’t exactly jumping out of their seats either about theirs. Needless to say I am very reluctant to come back and probably only will if it’s a whole family ordeal like this was– but I’m not sure the rest of the family wants to either.

Wanted to support local business owners, stopped in for lunch in the middle of the week, and the place was packed. Ordered the lunch salad, the portion was huge, hubby ordered the pasta, will definitely be back when we are free

Sausage and Peppers are AWESOME! The homemade bleu cheese dressing is absolutely incredible. Staff and owners are PRICELESS at making you feel welcome! Daily specials are on a blackboard and offer a great selection. Prices are fair…

It’s pay day Friday and we need to get our drink on. After the coworkers had a bad experience at Sweet Spot, we settled on Village Pub. I would call it a neighborhood bar Italian restaurant hybrid. We arrived around 5:30 and started drinking right away. When the rest of our party arrived, we took a huge table right next to the patio. We stuck with appetizers instead of a meal and it was a good idea. For ~$ 30, we got fried ravioli, bruschetta, onion rings, French fries, and a large fried calamari. For the six of us, it was beyond enough. It was insanely good! Everything was just phenomenal. Walking to the bathroom, I saw entrees that looked and smelled amazing! Our server was more than happy to get us an entire pitcher of sangria at the cost of four glasses. It really gave us about six. The drinks kept flowing for a long time. We went through at least four or five rounds of cocktails(at least 25 vodka sodas) for about $ 110. To the point that our server comped our last two rounds! Sad point: we got kicked off the patio at about 10:30. When we got down to 4 of us, we migrated to the empty patio. It was a gorgeous night and we enjoyed it. Back in the bar, we were clearly the youngest patrons in our 30s. It was very much a neighborhood joint. We will definitely be back! It’s close to the office and an all around good deal.

Favorite hot spot for Loyola Hospital employees! We love coming here for dinner and drinks after work! The«family owned» diner feel is awesome! Love the servers, and the food is great! My favorite is the grilled chicken(anything with it on!), especially the sandwich with the grilled onions! The drinks are good, the beer is cold! What more do you need?!

Not a bad little neighborhood place. It’s not fancy by any means, but we’ve wandered down here a couple times after a long day of working on our house. The menu isn’t super veg-friendly [which I intend to try to work on if we become regulars here :) ]. I’ve had their eggplant parmesean, which comes in the form of a giant tasty brick. The pastas I’ve gotten here have always been enough for two meals. The beer list is just ok, a little small but we think they change out a few of them fairly often.
