I’ve driven by multiple times and always wondered… this was a great find. I only had 25 minutes for dinner but the BeeBimBop came out fast, hot and excellent. I also had a seafood pancake that came out in a sizzling skillet that was quite tasty. I will definitely go back for the BBQ experience. The one relative knock is the atmosphere is very strip mall hole in the wall, but it was clean and friendly and the service was fast and attentive.

Came here with my sister. This was my first time here but not hers. I was very impressed with this Korean BBQ! We had combo A which was more than enough for two people. There were so many different meats with a lot! The meat were all very good and tender! My favorite was the sang yup sal and it was the best I’ve ever had! It melted in your mouth! We even had water naengmyun to finish our meal and that was a good decision. I’m very satisfied with the meat quality and the whole atmosphere of the place! I’m definitely coming back! So good!

This was a really surprising dining experience. For a low carb business dinner, I don’t have a single complaint. The service was excellent, the timing was spot-on, the price point was low, and the food was truly superb. I was having a serious craving for Asian-y food without a carb bomb, which can be tough with all the rice and noodles. Fortunately, Korean BBQ ribs w/out rice and a hot pot of tofu soup fit the bill perfectly. What I wasn’t expecting was how good the food was going to be. The ribs were super tender and packed with flavor. The soup was unlike anything I’ve had. The soft tofu with spice heavy broth and seafood was unique. I’ll be back on my next visit for sure!

Came by for lunch today. Wanted to try something else than Korean BBQ and I got the tofu soup. It was really tasty, not too spicy. It came with so much side dishes, I left full.

Excellent cuts of meat that were all tender and juicy. The best Korean bbq I’ve had in the Chicagoland so far. They also have AYCE bbq but I wanted good quality meat so I ordered Combo A. I switched out the prime ribeye for more LA galbi. It was nice of them to do that for us. I wish we got more pork belly instead of galbi though, because even though the galbi was amazing quality, it was too citrusy for our liking. The marinade wasn’t my favorite. But the pork belly was so thick and delicious. Amazing quality. Excellent service. Our server basically cooked everything for us and filled our water cups before they were empty. Definitely recommend.

I happened to be in the area on a trip last week and checked out Kogii Kogii from the recommendation of a friend since I was craving KBBQ. It blew my expectations away — was the best Korean food I’ve had in ages! The galbi was so tender and juicy(perfectly marinated) and service was attentive and well-timed. Check Kogii Kogii out if you want a great meal at a reasonable price that leaves you full and happy!

Decent Korean food for the area. We used to frequent San Soo Gab San in Morton Grove when we used to live in Des Plaines and I prefer that restaurant. Service was very speedy, we got our food within 6 – 7 minutes of ordering, although it was a slow Wednesday around 2pm. I ordered combo 2, with tofu soup and kalbi. Both were tasty, but the kalbi was very chewy and fatty. Tofu soup had lots of squid and one shrimp with head, no clams or mussels. Husband ordered the dolsot bulgoggi bibimbap and it came without an egg, sad. 6 banchans which is about 6 – 8 less than SSGB, but they were all tasty and fresh, with the exception of the hair in the potato banchan. And as expected, service was minimal and did not extend beyond taking our order and bringing out our food. No drink refill, no checking in, not even asking if we wanted our check. Husband waited by the front counter for a few minutes before someone came by and they didn’t even acknowledge him until he said hello.

The food was horrible. I went with co-workers during lunch and we ordered off their lunch menu. I ordered the deep fried chicken because the picture of it made it look so good. It was not. The batter was tasteless and the chicken was so dry. My co-workers ordered the brugolgi which was too sweet and duk mon-doo gook which was very bland. They also messed up our bill, putting items on there that we didn’t order. Other than that the service was decent but not worth it for the quality of the food you get. I wouldn’t go back and I would suggest not going there if you want good Korean food.

Last time I was here for everything was great except the service was a bit slow. My return trip here during dinner with moderate busyness and the service is no problem at all. Everything’s great for a mom and pops AYCE bbq.

This place is relatively new, but GREAT! Was in town with some coworkers for a couple weeks and we came here our first week and before we even finished our meal made a decision to come back the following week! They have AYCE(All You Can Eat) but it doesn’t include some of the better meat choices, so both times we opted to just order meats on our own and it didn’t seem like that much more expensive than paying for the AYCE. We took advantage of their combos which come with a bunch of sides and they’ll refill your sides, just ask! The service is great — they’re very attentive and regularly come by to check to see if everything is good. All around great food and great people!

Terrible service. I asked for some green pepper to go with all you can eat BBQ and they refused to give us any. I said I would pay extra and they still refused to serve it. Not a very customer focused restaurant. Also they added 20% tip without telling us. Bad bad bad. Serving green onion with meat is a basic requirement for a korean restaurant. Also got served ice water without ice. Huh! Why are they in business?

Food — 3 stars Service — 4 stars This is a family owned business and the service kind of felt that way, which I liked. However, this was my first time trying Korean BBQ and I realized that I’m just not a fan of the Korean BBQ concept. Most of the beef is for the most part unseasoned or barely marinated, and although I tried to wrap it in other things and dip it in sauces, I basically couldn’t get around the fact that I was eating bland meat wrapped in random things. I enjoyed some of the side dishes(onions, sprouts, cucumber), the steamed egg pudding, and the fried rice dish. The pork belly was probably my favorite meat. I probably won’t be back because I’m not a huge fan of the concept or bland meat, but everyone else seemed to enjoy their meal.

Decent Korean restaurant in place of the Pine Garden that stood here for many years. I went here with a colleague for lunch and got seated immediately. Despite the fact that they offer AYCE Kalbi for lunch, I ordered a Bibimbap since I had to go back to work. The restaurant is very clean, with a simple décor. It wasn’t very crowded during lunch hour but had about half the tables occupied, giving it a lively atmosphere without being too noisy or too dry. My food was just OK, and the fried egg they have me on the Bibimbap was over hard, which truly defeats the purpose of the dish since it’s the yolk that makes it. I did request that they change out the egg for an over easy one and they were happy to oblige. The sides that come with korean lunches were just OK, and not as good as others I’ve had in the Chicagoland area. Their Ko-Chu-Jang(red sauce) sauce was lacking flavor, and was disappointing and probably be reason(along with the sides) that I give this restaurant 3 stars. The service, however, was very good…

This is one of the best Korean BBQ I ever had, to a certain point, this is even better than San Soo Kab San. I ordered the Beef Combo, the Galbi was just unbelievable! I love its tender and juicy texture, but it’s beyond that: the marinating sauce was magic. Made my day! I would definitely come back although i love in the city!

Food and service was awesome. Old lady was dank on preparing the meat and everything turned out splendidly. You can’t go wrong with ACYE $ 24 son. Will be coming here often for that protein fix. Went on a Saturday and only one another table was filled. For those that are unfamiliar with the modern term«dank» Also an expression requently used by stoners and hippies for something of high quality.

After discovering this Korean restaurant, I’ve been coming here quite often. This time around, I chose the Samgyupsal aka Korean bacon. The quality of the meat was excellent and the quantity was abundant. I found out that on Friday’s they have a ‘half off wine special’ if you order the meat combo. I know where I’ll be next Friday! I also shared some of the lemon soju and I usually don’t drink cocktails, but it was really tasty and refreshing!

I decided to eat in this time. As soon as I walk in, I’m immediately greeted and seated. Servers are attentive and asked me for my order. Very impressed with caring service. Salad is small but the taste is perfect with just the right amount of dressing. The dressing is homemade with orange, vinegar, and forgot the other ingredients. The miso soup was really tasty and not so salty. The side dishes were just the right portions. I’m so impressed with the consistency of the taste and their service. I ordered the short ribs bibimbap. The overall experience of this dish is unforgettable. It comes in a hot pot bowl with rice, ribs, vegetables, and egg on top. They have a sauce that give it some kick and spice. I wanted to come in to make sure that I was right about my first review. Hence an updated review. The only thing missing is Korean Drama on their television with subtitles. :) Also, if you like squid, their squid dish taste great with the right amount of heat. The balance between the sauces and all ingredients is just right. My reccomendation still stands. You definitely have to try it for yourself to know what I am talking about. I really have found my comfort food.

My experience with Korean BBQ is not strong as most people would think for how much I explore and eat. My first and last experience was in LA in the heart of Koreatown where most of the best Korean food can be found in this wonderful country. Add a few of Korean locals to my group and I had to do very little to find the best Korean BBQ in LA. So I am saying the bar is high here and Kogii Kogii did very well to match that experience. Family owned as we were told that all of the marinated meats were done by the grandmother of the family. Many of the Banchan as well as the kimchi were fresh and plenty. We ordered one of every appetizer to try with a few notables. Haemul Pajun(seafood pancake) similar to a Chinese scallion pancake filled with vegetables and scrimp and crab. Jap Chae(stir fried vermicelli noodles with assorted veggies) also similar to another Chinese dish with a clean soy sauce flavor along with some roasted vegetables. For the main, the best value is the«All You Can Eat BBQ» which includes plenty of meat to make sure no one leave hungry. This includes Chadol Baegi(fatty brisket), Sam Kyup Sal(3-layored pork belly), Daepae Sam Kyup Sal(thin sliced pork belly), Miso Sam Kyup Sal(miso marinated pork belly), Gochu Jang Sam Kyup Sal(spicy marinated pork belly), Hang Jung Sal(pork shoulder), and Dak Galbi(spicy marinated chicken). The best were Miso Sam Kyup Sal, Gochu Jang Sam Kyup Sal, and Dalk Galbi. Spicy was not spicy at all. Since they were pre-marinated meats, you cannot adjust the spicy levels but I strongly suggest having them since they are marinated for hours with the family recipe. Yes, it was the family recipe that they would not go into details but it is THAT good. All the meats are clearly fresh including the fatty brisket and 3-layered pork belly. It is All You Can Eat so order another dish if you choose but make sure you are truly hungry for more. You are expected to grill your own meats but they will help if the restaurant is not that busy. It was a Thursday night and the place with filled. They actually opened up a side room since the main room was packed all night. The space was clean and clearly new. The service was great and they were attentive even when we were a large group of 8 checking our cooking skills and replacing our grill top. They did forget two of our drinks but I did not speak up since it was busy and over it. The language barrier was slightly there but I know they were trying to explain when questions were asked. I recommend coming here with a group as this is a great way to have some great conversations over a fire. Might not come here for a early relationship date as there will be some distractions having to manage grilling while talking. This place is a great hidden spot plus how can you go wrong in coming to a place that in Korean is called«Meat Meat»? Food — 5 Décor — 4 Service — 4

I have been going here with my hubby or my parents for few weeks now since it opened,(almost 4 – 5 times a week-we were in the process of moving to the area) and came to love it. The food quality is good, the dak doritang and budae jjigae are the best in Chicagoland, the servers are sweet, and the owner is attentive and polite. We were not a huge fan of nyeng myung(both cold & spicy) but over all, everything else seem yummy!!! It packed up swiftly as many good restaurants do, so they are still working on swift service… Some of the servers are less experienced than others so they will fumble, but most are super nice, so hang on and be patient. Pork set or the beef set are great for the value, and their jun-gol are super savory and tasty. We have tried almost everything on the menu, and have liked most. Being Koreans, we are hard-core foodies when it comes to Korean food, and I salute this little joint in a tiny strip mall for hooking us in. Try them out! If you know Korean food, you won’t be disappointed!!!

Before I get to the nitty gritty, I will confess this is my first experience with Korean food. I gave it five stars but I cannot comment on how it compares to other Korean places. Bottom line is I loved Kogii Kogii and will be going again soon. Last weekend some friends and I went to Kogii Kogii as we were in the area. Reviews on Unilocal were good so we felt comfortable with our choice. The location was easy to find and there was plenty of free parking. The restaurant décor was tasteful and clean throughout. We were promptly greeted and seated with our beverage order promptly taken shortly thereafter. Staff was friendly and helpful. Spoiler alert — they helped us cook the meat but we’ll get to that shortly. We ordered the beef combo for 4 which was plenty of food for our group and included a variety of short ribs, rib eye, and brisket. Meat came with a very complimentary sweet and spicy sauce. The sweet marinated short ribs were my favorite of the meats, although all of them were quite good. It also came with a pajun which is a sort of potato pancake but with seafood in it. So delicious! We also had steamed eggs which were perfectly cooked and not burnt. The baked honey potatos were surprisingly good, despite it being something I wouldn’t necessarily jump at. I was surprised the meat is cooked at the table which makes it more of an experimence than just a meal. Considering this was my first time at a Korean restaurant, it was nice the staff was willing to help cook the meat. Kogii Kogii was a fantastic way to introduce me to Korean food. While I haven’t had it before, I am excited about my next Korean experience at Kogii Kogii!
