Marina & I

I have gone her for almost 10 years and it is a fabulous place. I used to drive from the city before gels were popular and now I drive from the Western Suburbs. Natasha and Marine are amazing. Tanya gives the best pedicures I know and Marina is wonderful at waxing. I wouldn’t ever go anywhere else!

For the last year I have driven 20 minutes to have the LUXE Gel process done here. Polish lasts 3 weeks every time. Staff is friendly. They only take cash or check. FYI.

It was recommended I try this place by a family friend because she gets her gels done here and I wanted to give it a try.
I had to call a couple times before a person answered the phone. I felt strange leaving a message and asking to be called back. Seemed too complicated for setting up a nail appointment and just wanted someone to answer the darn phone! Ended up that I did a walk in and was quickly accommodated. It was first thing in the morning on a week day.
Being new to the whole gel thing, the woman was very nice. However, the process is long, and I didn’t want to sit in silence, so I tried to make some small talk. I asked if a picture on her desk was of her daughter and she began talking about her daughter… and then about her son who passed away like 6 mos ago and started showing me pictures of him and his grave. I was a first time client and a little taken aback by the whole thing! I wasn’t sure how to respond or what to say, and this made the rest of my appointment very uncomfortable and quiet. She wasn’t trying to make me uncomfortable, but it did.
On the other hand, my gel manicure did look great. I probably could have kept it for another week, but took it off after 3. No chips or anything. And I loved walking out not having to worry about messing up my nails!
One thing I didn’t realize being a newbie to gel manicures is that there are two kinds — ones that must be sanded off and the others which can be soaked off. I’d have much preferred to get the ones that soak off than the ones that must be sanded off.
Ultimately, my manicure was good, just uncomfortable. I will continue to get gels, just at places that do the version that can soak off.
OH one thing they didn’t tell me when I made an appointment was it was cash only. I thought it was a little odd not to tell someone paying for a $ 60 manicure that it was cash only. It was really just on the off chance I did have enough cash on me — who carries cash any more?!

GO HERE!!! I had friends for years tell me to go here for eyebrows and I never got the chance. I have been seeing Marina since December and she has SAVED my eyebrows. It takes a lot of patience but she has helped me so much. This woman knows what she is talking about and it is worth every cent to go here for eyebrow waxing… I want to try other services but haven’t yet. I’m sure I won’t be disappointed!
