Cook Out

TERRIBLE customer service. We were very polite and the man at the window didn’t say one word to us and looked so angry. I understand having a bad day, but if I am going to eat somewhere (even a drive-​through) I expect at least a little hospitality.

Food is always quick, done and cooked to perfection. They have alot of young people that work there but most of them are professional and if they mess up your order they definitely make it up to. I suggest it for a quick cheap meal to fill you up for the night… Taste the best on a night of late nite drinking and partying. lol

Food was okay but nothing to rave about. I’m not a fan of the ¼″ thick burger patties. I was hoping for better but should’ve gone next door for a Wendy’s burger instead.

Seem to always have new staff so I usually have to make sure my order is right but other than that the food is always great. 40 different kinds of milkshakes makes it worth coming to for dessert if nothing else.

Based on what i got which was the BBQ plate it was terrible, looks like cat food fries were very soggy and the hush puppies and cole slaw were just ok. I gave an extra star because the shake was very good even though it was not the flavor I ordered. For the price what did I expect, not much and that’s just what I got.

I’m a local here for this restaurant and I eat here all the time and I usually get what i order most of the time but about every other time I go there and order the quesadilla tray I have to explain to them what I want on it because it comes with the same thing every single time but if you don’t specifically say what you want they will screw the order up in some way. As for the BBQ plate they do the same thing if you just say BBQ plate they will sometimes put just BBQ on your plate of french fries no nothing and then they will sometimes also give you a medium drink when you wanted a large drink that comes with the meal great restaurant great food terrible terrible help so if you want your meal correct by all means explain it to him at the window because the speaker is useless. I hope someone from this restaurant read this because I have been there many many many times since it’s been there. I have complained about these problems with them but they don’t seem to care they still let these people play around in there and nothing gets done correctly. I have eaten at other cookout restaurants in other parts of the state they do a great job. The quesadilla the chicken quesadilla that they serve at this restaurant you have to wonder if there is any chicken in it at all because it only has two ingredients cheese and chicken with some spice on it I have gotten them with nothing but a smear of something that look like cheese sauce and not a piece of chicken to be found. So if you get one check and see if you got chicken as well. It should be illegal to sell something and advertise it as a thing and not actually put it on a thing that you sell. Get your stuff straight or you will lose business.

It was good, not great, but good. They just have a drive –thru & a walk up window. No indoor or outdoor seating, which is very strange and not very welcoming. It was a beautiful summer day. I walked over from the hotel I was staying at & had plans to sit there & eat after I got my food, but no where to sit!!! So I walked back to hotel with my order & ate my food sitting on my hotel bed. My sister raved about the place more than once, so I decide to give it a try. No charcoal taste to me. I ordered a double chocolate shake it was a black & white shake very mild taste of chocolate. I like my shakes thick but this shake was more like an ice cream. It wouldn’t come thru the straw. I have had better burgers. I would order here again but just average taste.

The service was friendly, but what else would I expect in the south. The food was nothing to RAVE about. For those who enjoy THICK milkshakes this is the place for you, as for me I want to use a straw when I drink a milkshake.

This was our first visit. Staff was very nice and helpful. Between my wife and i we got a couple hot dogs a burger, fries and a shake. The food was good and the shake was great. With all the flavor options, if you cant find one. You really didnt want one.

Let me say this they have 40 different types of milkshakes that alone says you have to love me lol. Perfect backyard BBQ flavor. I had the double burger done «cook out style» with chili and coleslaw on top. Sounds crazy but goes so perfect together. The onion rings were exactly what onion rings should be. I’m mad I was only visiting and they don’t have these in my town. The price was reasonable just hate the line was crazy. This will for sure be a stop every time I’m in town!

Right next to that M place… got off hwy n was looking for a quick bite to eat. This place had a line amd no other place did. It was supper cheep and great. Real Milkshakes great Brbq and great burgers. Did not see if they had greens but would not be surprised. Best of all super cheep 4 people ate w 2 having milkshakes for 21 bucks.

Great alternative to the chain fast food. The burgers are tasty and homemade-​like. Plenty of choices for shakes which must be eaten with a spoon.

Nice change of pace not having to hit a national chain on our drive from FL back to MD. Milkshakes were nice and thick. Cheddar style burger was good – had more bacon than burger (that’s not a complaint!). BBQ was okay – I think I would have preferred it without the slaw on top. It masked the flavor of the meat. I’d stop there again if we were driving passed at meal time.

We were driving from Virginia to Florida when hunger set in. We exited 95 with the intention of grabbing some BK. Cook Out was right across the street. So I Unilocaled it right from the BK parking lot. The reviews were 50/​50, but we decided to give it a shot. Try something new.
My husband and I both ordered a meal with a milkshake each. The meal comes with TWO sides. We liked that everything came packaged in boxes. The burgers were actually pretty good and better than what we would have had at BK. The milkshakes were pretty large & delicious. We had an Oreo & a Strawberry Cheesecake. YUM! We enjoyed all our food. PLUS, our total came out to just under $ 13! For the amount of food including milkshakes, it was a bargain! We have paid the same at McD’s for one meal with a soda and an extra sandwich!
The girl at the window was friendly and our order was correct. The drive thru line moved quickly too.
Wish we had a Cook Out here in Miami!

Reinventing fast food requires a lot of commitment and creativity. The burgers here taste super-​fresh and like real made not machine made and pressed. The onion rings and fries were very tasty. Thumbs up on the oreo shake.
The most impressive part was the menu… I had to park my car and it took me 15 minutes to figure out what I wanted!

How can you pass up a place that offers 40 different kinds of milkshakes? This place is amazing! Burgers are fantastic! We need one of these in New Jersey!

What a pleasant change from the usual road trip fast food!
We were looking for a change from the norm, and Ralph’s was closed. Fortunately, Cook Out was open and more than willing to sell us food. The prices can’t be beat, and I was full but not uncomfortable after my grilled chicken sandwich, fries and coke. My brother had a hot dog covered in slaw, which he ate in under a minute with no complaints. The bf had a chicken tender club sandwich, which was also apparently awesome. The fries weren’t the absolute best, but the hush puppies rocked.
I will definitely drive through here again when I can.

We stopped here on our drive to Raleigh, NC and was pleased with our food. I ordered the burger, fries and caramel chocolate shake that was crazy good. My burger was surprisingly tasteless. My mom ordered two franks that she loved. Next time I will stick with the chicken sandwiches that I usually order.

Today was the first time I have ever had the Cook Out and I have to say that it was the best drive-​thru burger I have ever had! Yummy! Will make sure I include this as a stop when I am in NC.

Fast food BBQ? Fast food is never good and BBQ is never fast, yet this place is surprisingly good! Apparently this is a chain of restaurants in North Carolina. The location I visited had 2 drive thru lanes on either side of the building and no seating available at all (inside or out). I had the pork BBQ sandwich with hush puppies, fries, and cole slaw. The lunch alone was $ 3.99 plus the drink. Ridiculously cheap, but the BBQ was ridiculously good. In the genre of fast food, I can definitely recommend this place. I even like the creaminess of the hush puppies. Also I didn’t realize at the time of my order, but they offer more than 40 different flavors of milkshakes. I think this worth checking out as well.
