Best bartenders in town! Wide variety of wing sauces all of them equally delicious. Seriously haven’t tried something on the menu I didn’t like. The have a local game night on Mondays… videogames and beer is always awesome. Wednesday they have an improv mashup of some pretty funny fellas called black shepherd cabaret and a game night which includes beerpong/​clear pong. Pretty awesome all around. Thursday is a DJ night with clear pong tournaments. Friday Saturday and Sunday are all a planned event surely not to disappoint. Love this place!

They have great beer, good food, and great music. Tuesday nights is open mic with a great cast of regulars. Friday nights is Honky Tonk night with a regular band playing bluegrass and country music. Great music, great fun, great food… what more could you want?

Didn’t know what to expect when we walked in. It’s a bar w/​bar food, I can’t say I can remember place you can smoke in! Prices are extremely reasonable and the food was delicious! Awesome find!

Best burgers in town! Very flavorful, great quality toppings, and huge! Always delicious! Their honey mustard sauce is amazing– like none I’ve ever tried. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Prices are fantastic.

Believe it or not, the lunch menu is great!
It’s just a honky tonk pool hall bar, but clean and all good. Reminds me of a «beef o’brady» during the day.

While the staff was friendly and drinks OK — it is a smokers bar, not my thing, and now everything reeks of smoke… I had 1 beer and left and now I need a shower before I go to bed.

Just be aware the clientele varies from night to night. Sometimes its bikers, sometimes its a hiphop night, but its always friendly.

Why do beer joints usually have the best cheeseburgers? Because they don’t overthink it. Meat, bun, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo. Done. That’s what Schooner’s does, and it’s great. A bar burger the way it should be.
The beer is cold, and they have Sam Adam’s seasonals on tap. What more could you want?

This was my first stop after two flights and a layover in Detroit, all totaling 8 hours, from SF to Roanoke. Having been without a beer since Detroit’s lovely airport, some 2 – 3 hours earlier, it was quite welcome.
Friendly staff and reasonably priced drinks. The ambiance made me feel like I was at a football game. This was aided by the 5 or so TV screens, all playing the Orange Bowl (brought to you by FedEx), which could be viewed in multiple directions from anywhere in the bar. No need to crick your neck after being in this bar – they’ve got you covered.
