Stopped in for lunch yesterday for our first time. In short, we’ll be back often… Had two sushi rolls, the Evelyn roll and a smoked Philadelphia roll. Both were fresh, full of flavor and presented nicely. All of the flavors in the rolls themselves came out individually instead of running together like many other places. We both had soup as well, wonton for my wife and hot and sour for me, again… very flavorful. We split the main entrée of the Kung Pow combination, I believe it was called. Steak, chicken and shrimp. Steak tasted like steak, not that rubbery crap you get when ordering in many other restaurants, same goes for the chicken and shrimp. All very fresh tasting. Everything stood out on its own. Our server was excellent, kept us taken care of and very knowledgeable about the menu. Restaurant atmosphere was new and the place spotless. Will definitely be back on a regular basis.

I travel for work most of weeks, different cities, states, from CA to MA. I must admit that this is one of the best Thai food I have had. I am so regular here, quality consistency is the key. Food quality, quantity is unmatchable. People are so awesome. LeeAnn is tone of the best servers here. Once again this is THE place in Roanoke to eat out. Thank you TASTEOFASIA!!! MUSTVISITTHISPLACE

We came for an early dinner when their posted hours stated they were open. They were not. We waited in the parking lot for 15 min before one of the 12 people smoking outside unlocked the doors– the rest of the group stared at us. We finally left and had a fantastic dinner next door at Montaño’s. If you post a time to open, then have you staff be there and ready to serve.

The food tastes good, the service is ok, but it was fast. Ambience was ok, you can see that they tried to make it look good but it’s not so great.

Excellent sushi, general Tso’s chicken, and a great Thai menu. Quality is far above normal Asian cuisine. Service was great. Price compares well with what you get!

I had high hopes for this place, I mean think about it «What do you want to eat?» «I want Chinese» «well I want sushi» «how about Thai?» But they failed to hit the mark mostly due to the staff. To start off the décor was interesting but I don’t go to a restaurant for the decorations so on to the service and food. We were seated at a very wet table the hostess did apologize for it but made no attempt to dry the table(the owner might want to have the hostess put her cellphone away during work hours) also, there were old used straws left in the chopsticks holder. The waiter seemed to have a lack of knowledge of the menu when he was asked if a dish had a certain ingredient in it he said he didn’t know but did not think so PLEASECHECKDON’T GUESS. We ordered a shrimp tempura roll to start off with it was average the most noticeable thing was the rice was very warm, this is not normal for sushi. The rice was somewhat mushy and not very well flavored. For dinner we had the drunken noodles and the linguini with pork BEWARNED the spice levels are hotter then most places they have mild, medium, hot, very hot and Thai hot, You might want to start off one degree lower then you might normally get. I got the drunken noodles hot like I have at other places and it was overwhelmingly hot even the mild for the linguini was too hot. The waiter forgot to put«no bell peppers» on the order for the linguini so they had to be plucked out. The waiter also forgot part of the order for the next table. he made some excuse and no attempt to correct the situation. The staff here needs training! I had hoped that this place would be a hit the spiciness of the food well that’s a live and learn experience on my part, the sushi, I’ve had better but would give it another try here it looked like they had some interesting rolls here, but the staff failed in so many ways it’s hard to imagine coming back,

Went here for the first time yesterday. Fantastic food and excellent service. Loved the atmosphere. Wasn’t too crowded. Definitely a great addition to the Roanoke Dining Scene. The best Sushi I ever had. Definitely will be back!

Amazing food and service in a lovely setting, it is wonderful for dinner and not overly crowded on a Friday night.

Updated review. I’ve been here 3 times now and the terrible service out weighs the good food. I watched/heard all the members of their wait staff stand behind a wall and just talk rather than help their tables. Any review that doesn’t say this restaurant has terrible service has to be a bought review. She remodeled the place and has pretty good food but she will go under if she doesn’t manage her staff and make them do their jobs.

Great food. Love the spice. The only bad thing I have to say is the service!!! Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow Got our appetizers very quickly. Got our entrees — mine Mongolian beef– so tender so spicy it was great! My husband got the Drunken noodles with chicken-hot! We finished our meal. Got boxes to take leftovers home, and have been waiting now for 15 minutes for our check. Two waiters for the whole restaurant. Get some help for these guys!!! I would give you 5 stars if your service had been better. Next time– takeout!!!

Went here for the first time yesterday for lunch and it was fantastic. The combination of the fresh ingredients with the unique LED inspired atmosphere give this restaurant an edge over many of its competitors in Roanoke. This is the first place I have been to where you can order Chinese, Japanese(Sushi), and Thai all on one menu. Thumbs up

I ordered the drunken noodles, and it was hands down the most flavorless noodles I have had. The noodles were the wrong kind as well. I am Asian and I know my noodles. I used to go there when it was another establishment, but I am permanently deleting their number from my phone.

The thing you must be prepared for when dining at Taste of Asia is waiting. The service is horrendous to be honest. My brother and I waited 30 minutes for our soup and only received it after asking twice! They only have a minimal staff working all the tables, and it’s absolutely ridiculous. The miso soup isn’t great, but my brother says the egg drop soup is good. We ordered the unagi and the California rolls, and they were extremely tasty, but again did not arrive in a timely fashion! After ~20 minutes more, my brother and I received our General Tso’s chicken. It was delicious! Not the fake breaded stuff, but spicy chicken in the chef’s «special brown sauce.» My parents’ orders came about 10 minutes later, after my father asked where they were. The entrees took forever, but they were almost worth the aggravation. The food is fantastic, but the service is absolutely terrible… Our waiter avoided us because we asked repeatedly for our food, and the manager refused to come out of the kitchen and talk to us! This really shows a lack of interest in customer service. Our family will probably not be visiting again because of our meal. Also, no offer was made to adjust our bill for the terrible service.

Another delicious meal. This was my third time dining in. Everything was great. We ordered off the lunch menu and the portions were huge. The Mongolian beef was perfection… just the right amount of sweet and heat. We also tried the chicken and broccoli, we were not disappointed. Everything was so fresh. Although the it took us about 25 minutes to get our food, the server did a great job of keeping our drinks full and pacing our salads and soup. Luckily we had nowhere to be so waiting wasn’t really an issue. We are looking forward to going back and are already planning our next meal!

Best sushi I’ve had in Roanoke. It’s new so I will be revisiting as soon as I can to see if it keeps up the quality. I have not yet tried the tempura. The price was acceptable considering the quality but still just pricey enough to prevent me from going often. Its location is not very central either making it harder to visit. The restaurant atmosphere is incredible. The service is great. It is a good dinner spot to eat with a nostalgic Japanese beer: o

The food is extremely fresh. Great vibrant taste on a rather large menu. Very hip and modern atmosphere with the exception of the cheesy saxophone music in the background. Wait staff is very friendly but busy. It’s hard for them to keep up with refills and such. However, the overall experience is a definite positive. We will definitely be back!

A nice addition to the South Roanoke dining scene. The menu is a whopping 17 pages and includes Thai, Japanese and Chinese selections, with Malaysian and Korean menu items coming soon. If you decide what to order after seeing over 100 choices, you’re in for a treat. There’s not a bad dish in the house: from sushi to noodles to typical Chinese fare. The chefs are also more than willing to adjust the spiciness to your specific tastes. Service is attentive and responsive and the food comes out quickly and at the right temperature. This is my first visit, but I will definitely be back. Check Taste of Asia out. You will not be disappointed.

Atmosphere was very nice, service was slow and sporadic, miso was very salty, crispy spring rolls a large portion but greasy and sour. Sushi looked perfect but too big to fit in mouth which might be my pet peeve. Staff needs to learn cultural tips it’s bad luck to pour your own saki and I’m pretty superstitious but again that’s just me. Please PLEASE don’t give small children chop sticks they only use them to drum on tables and I had about 5 young children sat near me. Also NO to linguini noodles when rice noodles should be used. Owner was nice, attractive staff.
