This place is a true little-​known gem. It is, without a doubt, and take it from someone who knows from experience, THE BEST AND MOST AUTHENTIC CHEESESTEAK outside of the city of Philadelphia. Period.
The folks here are very friendly and service is excellent. Not much space to dine in, but we’ve done carry-​out even more often and even had their cheesesteaks for birthday parties.
Do yourself a huge favor and try out Taste of Philly. If you are not hooked by the first bite, then you may want to be medically evaluated for a taste bud deficiency. For real.

Best Philly until you get to Philly! Friendly environment and friendly staff! Timely and affordable ! I have yet to find something on the menu I don’t like!

Everyone has said so much great thing and my experience was just Not what I had hoped for. Starting with the good. The owner was super polite and offered nice conversation. The prices were fair so no problems with that. Here is were is goes south for me. The Philly meat is frozen proceeded anybody can get meat from the store. I’m being serious any body can get that meat and in a skillet duplicate that Philly sandwich at home. Second, because of the great conversation I had with the owner he had talked me into trying a Turkey sandwich. So I ordered it to go a long with my Philly. But he was out of Turkey and didn’t realize it, which is a shame because he made it sound good. If I go back to Taste of Philly and honestly I probably will return to try something other than the Philly.

A dear friend of ours brought us a philly to try. WOW was it delicious. HUGE too.If we ever get to Roanoke you bet we will stop and get another one and some cold cuts…
It is a must ry if you live around there or want to make a little trip to Roanoke.

Wow! My grandmother lived a block from a sandwich shop in Philly so I know what a good steak sandwich is and let me tell you, this is the real deal! Absolutely authentic and amazing steak sandwiches. We stopped in last Saturday and all four us had steak sandwiches. Today, the owner came in on Sunday (they normally aren’t open on Sunday) and made an order for us for our son’s birthday party. Thank you so much!

I had a philly cheese steak, it was the best i’ve ever had. My wife had a hot italian sub, it beat anything that subway has to offer. Our son had a cheeseburger and fries, which were huge, so he couldnt finish it, so i had to, and it was also excellent!!! This place makes some of the best sandwiches around!!! There is also a deli inside, and you can buy some of the meat he uses in his creations. Reasonable prices too. He goes out of his way to treat you right. We will be back!

This place is fantastic. I have never been a Philly sandwich fan, ends up that was because I had simply never had a good one. These guys put together the best Philly steak sandwich I have ever had in my life, nice quality meat, finely chopped peppers and onions, and some form of magical cheese that is just the best ever.
They make all sorts of deli meat subs, loads of meat per sandwich compared to what you see a most sub shops. If you go for a 12in sub, you better be hungry, it is a TON of food!
…try this place out and you’ll have a hard time enjoying something from the chain sub places ever again.

You have to try this! My family used to eat at Penn Station on a regular basis, but now we have seen the light! This is the best place for a philly steak sandwich anywhere in town. I’d love to say that everything on the menu is good, but cannot order anything but the steak, it is just that good.
A bit of a drive down to Roanoke, but so worth it!!!

This place was great! We stopped here for lunch, since everything looked great on the menu we shared a Philly Cheesesteak and a cold Italian Sub (they will serve it how you like it — hot or cold). The sandwiches were huge, the bread is great, the meats were plentiful and the taste was wonderful!
The folks are very friendly and helpful. They will make the sandwich however you want it.
They have a bar to sit at along the wall with some stools, or they will pack it up for you to take with you.

This place is awesome!!! it’s as good as it gets! the food is EXCELLENT! the prices are unbelievable. They have a full service deli with prices that are cheaper than ANY grocery store around. and here’s the kicker, THE MEATS ARE BETTER. I’m not kidding, if you haven’t tried this place yet, your really missing out. the portions are plentiful, the food is unbelievably good, and it’s not exspensive!!! you can get a burger and fries for $ 5.00. And I mean a real burger. A real big burger (half pound burger). the fries are cut from fresh potato“s right there. But the real deal WHEW! is that Philly cheese steak, You can’t get any thing like that anywhere in this state, or any neighboring states… It’s that good !! Check it out, They have a FIVE star rating, I give them a TEN !!! :-)
