We did 2 tours while in Roanoke — Beer Tour on a Friday night and a Food Tour on Saturday — both were awesome! Larry was our tour guide(with Nadean) on Friday night — took us to 3 Breweries — Soaring Ridge, Flying Mouse & Big Lick. They knew how the breweries got started, what all the beers were, history of the buildings — beer was great and had fun with all the other attendees. Food Tour on Saturday with Becky was wonderful — went to 7 restaurants/food locations and all were great. Gave us a taste of all types of food, while getting the best history tour we’ve had of a town. We highly recommend Tour Roanoke to locals and visitors — great way to learn about the city, taste great food and beer and enjoy the beautiful mountain city. We will be back.

We joined 11 other folks and our tour guide Amelia for a 3 hour walking tasting tour of some of Roanoke’s historic and eclectic dining venues. It was wonderful. Amelia is so personable and got us all cohesive as a group right off. She is chock full of interesting historical facts, which she shared with us. The food and drink offerings at the 7 establishments were varied and delicious in their own right. It’s a great way to be introduced to dining choices in the Star City of the South, to learn about the area, hear old stories and legends, and meet new people. I highly recommend Roanoke Food Tours and we’re already planning our next adventure with them.

The food tour would be a perfect activity for locals and visitors alike! My group was all Roanoke natives and we learned so many interesting, new things about our cities history and food scene! Amelia was our guide and we were amazed at her knowledge and humor! Great food along the way including Billys, the famous Texas Tavern, and On the Rise bakery! A must do in the area

I recently moved to Roanoke and took my mom and aunt on the Blue Ridge Winery Tour. I have to say that this is an amazing tour and I highly recommend this to locals and out of town people alike. Larry is simply amazing and made sure we had a great experience. This is a must do tour if you are in the Roanoke area!!!

I had some out of town guests in for the week and wanted to do something with them entertaining and educational. The Roanoke Food tour was great! And I don’t use the word great often. The food was scrumptious and opened up a whole new level of eating possibilities in Roanoke. Because of the exposure to these new eating establishments I will most likely go back to each one to try more of what they have to offer. Our guide Amelia was so entertaining and really knew historical highlites of the area. We learned a lot about our city and the history behind it. I highly recommend the food tour to anyone… You won’t be disappointed!

This tour was great. The guide Becky was very friendly & knowledgable. I am amazed at the information she gave us. The food samples were good. I ate new things. You should go on this tour but be prepared to walk and learn about Roanoke. I would take this tour again.

I went on this tour with friends who were visiting from NYC, and it was really fantastic. It’s a great little tour that has just the right amount of history, a great mix of good southern fare and exotic/eclectic food experiences, and it a great way to spend an afternoon. Everything we ate was delicious, and our tour guide, Becky, was warm, smart, accessible and fun. I will definitely be taking other guests to have this perfect little afternoon experience. I left feeling satisfied but not stuffed, and still had plenty of time to enjoy a full afternoon and evening with my friends afterwards. This tour is great in that you get to eat a lot of different things… but just a little of each one. I would recommend this tour to anyone who likes to walk, eat and explore!

We came to Roanoke to explore the region and enjoy the fall colors. We left with a new appreciation for the history of the Star City and the wide variety of culinary delights available. From the Southern classic peanut soup and spoon bread(at the Hotel Roanoke) to the tabbouleh and meat pie(at Cedars of Lebanon) and everywhere else along the way we savored the variety, quality, and wonderful flavors we encountered. The three hour walk on a brisk fall day was properly paced, delightful, informative and very well managed by our guide. Highly recommended!

I lived in Roanoke for a good part of my life but never learned so much in one day about the star city. This tour was awesome. Not only did this tour give me a WHOLE different outlook on the food that is available in Roanoke it opened up my eyes and showed me a different side in a historic sense. This was like a history class during and awesome cultural lunchen. I highly recommend this tour to anyone that think they know the city or to anyone who wants to see what different knowledge and food is out there. I promise you will learn something new and I promise you will try something you never have tried before food wise.

I was in Roanoke for business and was really struggling with homesickness. Our wonderful tour guides went above and beyond to introduce us to the city. They even were so gracious as to tell me lots of other sights to see and things to do outside of the tour. The food was delicious and we were welcomed with open arms by each stop. I really fell in love with Roanoke after this tour. I HIGHLY recommend it if you are visiting Roanoke!

They’ve just added a Sunday Brunch Tour and it was great. We got to taste several different dishes from several different places. I thought the roasted vegetable quesadilla at Fork in the Market was just delicious, as was the fresh squeezed juice from FireFly Fare. She Crab Soup from Metro was really something special too. What a great way to spend the day.

My wife and I just spent Saturday on a Roanoke Food Tour — walking the downtown, learning its history and sampling some of the great locally produced food that the region is known for. Our group was a fun mix of visitors and residents; and the guide combined learning, food and fun to create a very special 3 hours.
