Paper Source

An ephemera addict’s dream! Paper Source is an awesome store with every variety of unique stationery and gifts around, from whimsical to elegant, at every conceivable price point. This shop is chock full of creative stationery items, notebooks/​journals, ornaments, gifts, decorative accents, and seasonal merchandise. This is the perfect «go-​to» store for DIY types like myself.
They do custom stationery/​invitations for special occasions and the samples that I saw just made my heart melt, they were that stunning. Wow. If you’re in the market for special event invites, this is the place to go. They have some of the loveliest cards and thank-​you notes anywhere. While the prices are a little steep on the higher-​end goods, they have plenty of options at lower price points as well. It makes you want to throw a party or get married just so that you can pick up invitations/​save the date cards here!
I picked up some holiday ornaments here on Black Friday last year that were super cute and really inexpensive, surprisingly so. I found some really inexpensive, but totally adorable, gift tags and wrapping paper that were much better quality than what can be found somewhere else, like Target or Walgreens, for a song. There’s a nice little clearance section with sharply discounted merchandise, featuring discontinued items and seasonal wares as well. Don’t forget to check that out!
As for customer service, it really couldn’t be better. They have just about the nicest staff around, helpful and willing to go the extra mile. They hand-​wrapped my fragile items with the utmost care to ensure they wouldn’t break.

Being a stationary junky, I was really excited to check out the Paper Source. It’s the sort of place I can’t be allowed in without a specific list, though.
Today’s trip was for thank-​you cards for my daughter to send after her birthday, and a new notebook for me to start my Dana Wilde 10 Minutes Before Bed program again. The woman working at the counter near the door was very helpful when we first arrived so I didn’t just wander around and have my son melt down before I found what we actually needed.
The thank you cards are adorable, with my daughter just having to fill in the ‘to,’ the gift, and her name at the bottom. I haven’t checked how many are in each package, but I told her I’d only buy two packages at $ 12.95 each, and if we’re short, we’ll have to find more or make them at home.
My new notebook is also very cute, with lined pages and a date space at the top of the page. The paper looks like it may be a little thin and I’ll need to pick my pens carefully, but for just $ 9.95 I’m happy.
Can’t wait to go to Paper Source again! In addition to the regular paper things I’d expect, they also had some cute gift ideas and crafty games and toys. Someday without my short people in tow…

This store is absolutely amazing in so many ways! I’m a frequent shopper at this paper source and I’ve never been disappointed. Each member of the staff, from the associates to the store manager herself, are incredibly kind and will do whatever necessary to help me find what I need. They’re all very creative as well and often give me ideas for crafting projects that I never even knew were possible. The staff is honestly half the reason (besides the products themselves!) that I come to this store so frequently.
They also run near weekly crafting workshops. I personally have never been to one, so I won’t comment on them, but the offer to go to a workshop and learn something new is nice!
The store is probably on the pricier side, but this is the Village of Rochester Hills. The mall itself is for upscale brands and Paper Source is an upscale, high quality brand.
I always find myself losing track of time while I’m in the store because the selection of items is quite large. However, it’s not overwhelming due to the general setup and atmosphere of the store. The store always feels very inviting and down-​to-​earth, with much of the store’s walls/​fixtures displaying the incredible craftiness of the employees.
Lastly, my fiancée and I ordered our save-​the-​dates and wedding invitations from this store. The selection is vast, accommodating many different colors and styles. Our invitations just came in today right on time and they are beautiful! I can hardly wait to send them out to my wedding guests!
I highly recommend this store to crafters, wedding planners, and artists of all kinds. I wish I could give this store more than 5 stars!
