Looking for a local sushi spot, I came across Soho. I like the ambiance of the restaurant and the staff is pretty polite. The sushi was good, and I’ve had the spicy ramen soup once. The prices can seem a little high, but the food isn’t bad. This is my second favorite spot after Kyoto over in Clawson.

Ok, typing this as I’m still in the restaurant because I just want everyone to know how nasty this restaurant is. The ramen was good until we found hair in one of the bowls. The flavored sake tasted like nail polish remover, and to make it worse, our server never checked up on us. We ran out of water until I waved another server down. First time and last time here!

Has a nice ambience and pretty good food. I frequent this place regularly. Everything about Soho is awesome. The service is great and the price is fair. I love that I can come late at night.

This was the third time I’ve been here. I don’t know why, I never really like the food. I keep trying different things in hopes it will get better… I guess I don’t like the whole Japanese and Korean food together thing. My thought is pick one and do it we’ll. They have not done that… I guess I was hoping for a really great Korean place and I’m very disapointed… That being said some of the reviews seemed very positive., but not from this diner

Maybe they should close at the time they advertise rather than closing an hour and a half before.

I was so disappointed. I asked the waitress is a thing I was ordering contained mayonnaise and was told no. The rolls had mayonnaise in them and she didn’t seem upset when I pointed that out to her so I just asked for a box and wrapped them up to give to a friend. On a positive note, the chef seemed very friendly and the green tea was good.

Food is amazing ! So far this is the best place for awesome Japanese food. Love the way they serve, love the way they cook the food. I had miso soup which comes with the main dish, just love it and the plate I order is just fantastic. They serve very fresh fruits and love the way they cut the fruits. Finally the desert, superb !

This place isn’t the cheapest so don’t come with your nickels and dimes, but the food is great. I only ever get the spicy California rolls with white rice but it always taste delicious!

This place is a Korean and a Sushi Bar. It seems like the Korean guy is making the sushi and the Japanese guy is making bibimbap! Neither tasted good! The food is not as good as the place looks. The green tea tastes very good! Bibimbap usually comes with a fried egg or if it’s the stone pot then they often provide a basket of Eggs. At least that’s how I know Korean food, please see the picture I post for the egg that came with my bibimbap. Sushi tasted like eating plastic pipe! Salmon sashimi wasn’t cleaned well and it was very stiff. Not going here again even if this is the only place that opens late!

I thought the service was excellent! Very prompt! I used the free appetizer on Unilocal to get edamame. Yum! I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 because their California roll grossed me out. I can tell the sushi is delicious because I ordered the firecracker roll and the spicy tuna was yummy. But their California roll used too much creamy mayo for my taste. I would absolutely come again but order something different.

Sushi here is really good, I’ve had the caterpillar roll and Vegas roll, both have been delicious. The restaurant has both Japanese and Korean options. The menu has several sushi options which range in price. The cost is reasonable. During the summer they open up their patio area, which is a great lounging area. The lights are really dim inside, which makes me a little sleepy. The atmosphere overall is very chill and quiet.

The Korean was just ok, and the service was horrific. I don’t want to rant but what a nightmare. Must have been 35 minutes to get our food ordered, there was one waitress for the entire restaurant + patio. Finally a gentleman took our order; his English was a barrier which caused my dining companions to get two of the same dish, vs. the one they order that they said ‘we are going to share’. We had them take the other back, at the end of the night both were on the bill. Getting that adjusted was a chore, as was using the Groupon. The sushi was downright amazing. I’m sure if I had a dinner of just Sushi, my review would be glowing(aside from the start to the meal) given how fast and fresh it came out. I might not be returning.

Reading the reviews last night while I was waiting for my food only doubles down my hate for whiney Unilocal reviewers that think they are on Food Network. — You go to a Korean/Sushi bar and are disappointed you couldn’t get bacon and eggs? Drive your butt to Ram’s Horn for crying out loud. Do you see me ordering a Filet at Starbucks? So I came here with my daughter last night for the first time. The place is super nice inside, it is obvious they put some serious money into building the place out. We ordered the usual, miso soup, edamame, some sushi rolls(4 or 5) and some tea. The tea came out in a French press, which was a nice touch. The sushi rolls and sashimi were great and were very generous in their cuts. Although I didn’t drink, I wanted to. They had a ton of infused Sake, and I noticed a phenomenal selection of Scotch at the bar. Next time. The bill was around $ 45 for everything, which is pretty normal for a sushi place. I would consider this both very date and family friendly and cannot wait to go back.

I feel like this restaurant has a place in the area, if only they can work on a few things. I went my mom and her two friends for Sunday morning brunch, which probably isn’t the most ideal time to capture how this place truly operates. We were the only ones there the entire time. The service for that was close to non-existent because they were busy … doing other things? I guess? Before our meal I had checked out the menu online, which I should point out said«Brunch,» and only tagged along because of Americanized Korean dishes that I thought were offered(ie: Korean BBQ omelette.) I was not in the mood for soley Korean food so early in the morning. However, the menus at the restaurant didn’t have any of those options. I asked about it, and the only response I got was that they could make whatever they wanted for me. Thoughtful in theory, but I didn’t want to tell them what I wanted; I didn’t know what I wanted. That’s why I look at a menu to decide what I want. It was around Halloween, and the restaurant was completely decorated in Halloween decorations, which seemed a bit tacky, when it feels like they’re going for the upscale vibe. All in all, it was all too much to look past, despite being pretty satisfied with the food. I ended up getting the chicken katsu salad, those breaded/fried chicken cutlet pieces on a bed of iceberg and some tomatoes and fruit thrown in. It wasn’t what I wanted so early in the morning, but I was pleased with the breading because it wasn’t on too thick or heavy. The chicken was cooked on the drier side, but it exceeded my low expectations.

Mmmmm Hmmmmm… loved me some Soho Sushi this past week! Had the Groupon, went on a Wednesday night… had some sake, and three rolls… enough for two of us. I’m trying to look up which rolls we ordered but their website is down. All three that we ordered were just delicious! We loved Soho, and I’d go back for sure!

So nice to have something new to this area! Found Soho on Groupon. I love Sushi and always like to try new places. The staff was very friendly, the place is clean and comfortable, the sushi was good, not the best but not a bad place to grab a meal at a decent price. We did not order full meals, just a few sushi rolls to try. Was good.

I think this place is a nice new addition to the area. I liked the décor with the brick and wood and comfortable red leather chairs. I ordered Salmon Teriyaki. There were several small pieces of salmon that were thinly sliced, a little over-cooked in spots but the taste was pretty good. I really liked the fresh fruit that came with the dish. The meal also came with miso soup, a gyoza and white rice. The meal cost $ 16.00 Mom ordered the Korean dish, Bibimbab that came in the heated food pot. Normally this dish comes with a fried egg on top but they decided to scramble the egg like an omelette and then cut it up and serve it on top that way. Mom missed the fried egg and requested one be served to her on the side. Overall, not the greatest of food but still very good and worth coming back to.

SOHO? More like So-So. Let me explain. This place is located nextdoor to a Famous Daves, so it allows customers a chance to either go for ‘Merican cuisine or a little something more«cultured». I guess this is what this place tries to be — cultured. From the carved wooden poles to the high ceiling and lighted bar in the back, it’s nothing but. What I noticed after the beams was the smell. Yes, there are some, who might have disregared the smell, but it was enough to be noticeable to me — the smell of food cooking. Maybe I have a sensitive nose, but when I go to eat in a place, I don’t want to smell the kitchen. It’s nothing powerful or rank, mind you, nor was it delicious, it was just… the smell of the kitchen. I don’t like. Let’s move on to the décor. A good place, and a nice layout. A good place to take your lady friend. They have a variety of sake(I think) next to the entrance, on top of a cooler of drinks. Looks cool, but the drinks were not very organized(maybe I’m just nitpicking). Ok ok, this the décor and smells do not factor much into my score, but I just noticed it. You might not, nor might you care. But let’s move on to the food. The food is… just ok. We ordered a bunch of Korean food and 2 sushi rolls(None of that fried stuff). The sushi was just ok. Now if you’re an experienced sushi guru like i am, you’ll disregard the fish portion as not that important as the quality of the rice. And the rice here? Not that good. Too dry, too hastily made. The wasabi was also too watery for me. But hey, if you don’t eat sushi a lot, you’ll never notice. The Korean food was nice, but where the heck were my side dishes? Ok, so a star docked for that. The portions were nice, and they gave us some fruits on the side(see pic), but I’d still perfer dishes from H-mart or Tofu house, or lord help me, Korean Palace, over this. This is presented nicely, but it just seemed too… fusion for me. Too clean, too neat. But hey, that’s just personal taste. They also have outdoor seating, which is nice, but since I didn’t eat outside(I dont think it was open), I wont be able to add a star or comment on that. Long story short: Below-average sushi. No side dishes. Just ok. Step up your game Soho.(This is also my 100th review, break out the party favors)
