Abode is a great stop for getting to that next level with your home décor and to get a really unique gift for someone you care about. A lot. Because getting them that gift means you don’t get to keep it. They have an eclectic selection of houseware, furniture, décor items, general tchotchkes that are vintage, new, some other time period I can’t think of, etc. It is a great place to just randomly stop by and browse at. The staff are very friendly(even when you ask inane questions like«wtf is art glass?»). Their prices are very reasonable. I especially appreciate that the selection in the store seems carefully curated(and not a haphazard collection of old things someone didn’t want!) I have gotten crystal decanters, unique bottles, octopus wall fixtures, funky glassware and other cool things from here. You never know what you will find here so keep an open mind! I follow them on Instagram just so I have one more shop to spend to much money at!

I FINALLY went and took a look at this very cool store. They have an excellent Instagram presence and was glad I looked at that first. My only issue is not knowing the area well enough I parked on the side of the building that is for the apartment dwellers only; don’t park there… It’s not for the store. Well… they carry lots of «Mid-Century» pieces and the prices are very, very reasonable. You can find a little something for everyone they carry Lit & Co. Candles & reed diffusers, glassware, flat wear, napkins and all sorts of very cool stuff. I will go back, staff is nice an unobtrusive for me a plus.

I’ve never failed in finding a great gift(or treat for myself) at Abode. The shop is comfortable and quiet, the owners are friendly, and Lucy the French Bulldog is always happy to greet new guests. Although Abode focuses on Mid-Century Modern décor and furniture, even those who prefer a more modern look well find a treasure or two! I’ve addition to furniture, Abode also offers accessories and accents from local shops and artists, which I appreciate as a lover of all things ROC. You won’t leave empty handed, so stop in!

I looked around my apartment recently and suddenly noticed that I was in dire need of some new home décor: a lot of my stuff has been around since my college days. Yeesh. I kept seeing the awesome reviews of Abode, so I popped in one rainy afternoon on my day off. Abode is situated right in the center of the Wedge, and I easily parked on the street. Abode is filled with mid century goodies, and the owners have made great use of their rectangular-shaped space. I love when I go somewhere and EVERYTHING is for sale, and that true here! There is so much to look at, and I immediately fell in love with a copper sun wall hanging. Alas, I did not get it, but if it’s there next time I go, it’s mine. They have a nice array of lower priced goods like tumblers, candles, small bowls, etc., and larger pieces like mirrors, chairs, bookcases, tables, etc. After I wandered around for a bit, I settled on a great white decorative bowl with gray flecks, and adorable tumblers that have stars embossed on them — hello, new stemless wine glasses! As I was checking out, the cashier and I were chatting and she asked if they were gifts and did I need gift wrapping? So thoughtful. I told her it was my first time and that I was definitely looking for a new end table/telephone table. She told me to check out their Instagram as the owners often post new items there and you can see new pieces without having to stop in which is nice. They have mid-century vibe, but I’m sure there is something for everyone!

Stopped by Abode today on our antique adventure and I loved it. I have a slight obsession with Mad Men-esc Mid Century furniture and this place hit the spot. They have a nice blend of retro furniture and modern accessories for your home. Today was a more inspirational day of window shopping but I can definitely see buying some signature pieces for our home. Great store!

I can’t say enough about Abode. It is filled with mostly mid-century furniture and eclectic artisan pieces that you hope to find at a garage sales. The prices are very affordable and they always have new stuff. I moved into my first apartment in the South Wedge and am so grateful that they are right around the corner. I have them to thank for an amazing little bar cart, a unique tray with sea animals, and my most prized item is a beautiful gold mirror that my boyfriend surprised me with. The shop has an amazing presence on social media, I highly recommend following them on Instagram. I really enjoy their enthusiasm for the Rochester life. It is very refreshing to find a store with so much style and accessibility.

Really great mid-modern century furniture at affordable prices. I was pleasently surprised by their diverse selection of furniture. I don’t think I found another place that has so many mid-century style furniture in one place! Prices are very reasonable, though a tad bit more than if you were to spend hours searching on craigslist, or hitting up your antique/vintage store. But definately saves you times from sorting through other stores. I wish they are open on Mondays and Tuesdays though :(They also close pretty early(5 or 6pm) on other days. Absolutely adore this place. Got a coffee table here, and am so happy with how it looks in my apartment!

Abode is the latest stop on what I like to call Wedgucation. I stroll the South Wedge on my own and stop at a variety of shops and restaurants. Abode brings it when it comes to home décor or a unique gift for a friend. Their prices are very reasonable and the staff is super friendly. They carry vintage furniture items as well, but I hit up the shop more for the interesting selection of gifts and chotchkeys. I love chotchkeys.

Abode is like a real life Pinterest board. Amazing vintage finds & a selection of curated local things. Prices are amazing & it’s hard to leave empty handed. Owners are super sweet to boot. Check them out if you are in the market for the mid-century modern vibe to adorn your home.

I finally had a chance to stop into Abode last week. I follow them on social media and their images always look great! I was so pleasantly surprised that it looks just as good as the images they post. It is a really cute store. I love the little touches of local items spread throughout the store. If you are in the South Wedge, it is a must hit!

Love this place and it’s people(and dogs!) great style, takes the leg work out of vintage finds and still great prices. Great rochester based artisan works as well. Thanks for a great store!

This is my kind of place. Actually, I’d love to live inside this store. Totally not a real life possibility so progressively I will start to transform my whole home into a mid-century /modern inspired home with pieces from Abode. I have some designs to get me there. Following my recent visit, I’ve added to my collection a lovely set of gold etched of vintage Georges Briard glasses and a tiered serving tray(see photos). The shop’s style is definitely mid-century modern featuring vintage pieces found at estate sales and what not. They also toss in a few modern items inspired by that decade or so of design. Plus, awesome candles, gin making sets, and cute printed tea towels and artsy straws. Everything is affordable too! I’ve seen similar pieces for upwards of $ 1000 at other vintage shops(perhaps because of who designed it), but it’s nice to see affordable vintage gems that anyone can nab without breaking the bank. I’m still on the prowl for a coffee table, bar cart, and kitchen table and chairs. Daily, I stalk their Instagram to see what new stock they get in and will swing by if anything suits my fancy. Highly worth a visit if you need to update your abode.

Abode is adorbs! I am legitimately in love with this place! I was excited to see that they have vintage furniture and housewares at reasonable prices. I usually find vintage stuff I love and then find out it is way out of my price range, this was not the case at Abode! I definitely ended up standing in the store for like 20 minutes(looking like a crazy person), arguing with myself about whether I should buy a super awesome arm chair or not. I finally was able to talk myself out of the decision, since it was a bad choice to make just before my lease ends. I ended up buying a set of really cute, hand decorated glasses instead, and my desire to spend money was satisfied. Another adorable thing was Lucy the shop dog. A cute little French Bulldog who followed me around the store while I shopped and grunted at me. I intend to return to abode and get tempted into buying more things. I’m just crazy like that.
