At the Fringe Festival I got the porchetta sandwich for $ 10. The sandwich was delicious, with the pickled onions, pork, and a generous serving of cheese. I think that it was definitely worth the money, savory but not too salty, and a good portion. As all food trucks should be, the service was very quick as well. Hats off to you Brick N Motor!

I was pumped to visit Brick and Motor, they have generously supplied fantastic food at Unilocal events. I was disappointed, perhaps it was the menu option I chose. I tried their lobster roll, I found the fennel, radicchio and lemon was bitter and completely overwhelmed the(although visible but few) chunks of lobster. They had run out of the traditional rolls and served it up on ciabatta instead. Sadness on this visit but I won’t turn my back on then just yet.

I checked out Brick-N-Motor for the first time at an event at an apartment complex over the summer. I hadn’t really had a chance to eat during the day, so I splurged a bit and got two items and a dessert so I could save some of later if I needed to. Overall I thought the food was ok, but pricey for what I got. It all just fell short a bit of my expectations based on other reviews and the ingredients. I got the Orzo Salad as well as the Chicken Mole tacos. The Orzo Salad($ 7) was my favorite of the two dishes based off of the vinaigrette they used. There were a good amount of the cherry tomatoes in it, but the rest of the items(mozz cheese, peppers, olives) were very much limited in quantity. It was mainly a lot of orzo, with a couple pieces of peppers, and then about 6 cherry tomatoes. I think I had one bite of the«fresh torn mozzarella») in the whole thing and just a couple small slices of olive. The flavor overall was good, but it needed to be more than tomatoes and orzo. The Chicken Mole tacos($ 9 for two) just missed the mark. While the toppings were more plentiful, nothing in the taco had a real strong flavor. Firstly, the cost was pretty high, especially when you are parked next to Lloyd’s. The mole flavor really didn’t come out in the chicken, which I found pretty flavorless. Again, most of the rest of the toppings were missing much of a kick or spice and just added mass. From the cabbage/corn slaw and the salsa, they just really didn’t give any depth of flavor to the taco along with a mild cheese like queso fresco. I don’t even mean spicy when I talk about the flavor, as I am not a spicy food eater. I did like the fire grilled flour tortillas though, but bland is the best word I could use to describe these. I also had one of the Hash cookies and it was tasty, though pricey at $ 2 considering it was a pretty thin cookie. I expected a little bit more considering the ingredient list. I was more so inspired to make my own cookies like this. Overall, it wasn’t a bad meal, but for $ 18, it wouldn’t have me rushing back for more.

I was so excited that it was Food Truck Tuesday here at the U of R. Tough decision on which truck to go to… and I think I made the wrong choice today. I ordered the Korean BBQ ribs from Brick-n-Motor. While the flavor was good, they were not fully cooked and cool to the touch. With ribs, you expect«falling off the bone» meat… on these, I couldn’t pull the meat off the bone. The little bit of slaw in the bottom of the dish was good, but there was not enough of it to offset the lack of meat I could eat for my $ 10. Sorry guys. I almost always post a positive review, but today was really disappointing.

Wow! I am so glad I decided to go to the food truck Rodeo. Although it was spoiled halfway through by the thunderstorm, we were lucky to secure some Korean BBQ ribs before all the food trucks closed and people started running around for a shelter. The only sad thing is I didn’t get to try other items on the menu. The rib was perfectly cooked, falling off the bone and seasoned with sesame! To take an American style food and make it all Korean and own it like that means something! There was a side of cole slaw as well and it was just amazing! I will be stalking them from now on.

I don’t know what the hype is about. They had a Cuban as a special and it was very good. But that didn’t make up for standards like the crab roll and ramen. The crab roll was just wet and bad. And don’t get me started on the ramen, worst I’ve ever had in my life. The pork belly was rock hard and tasted like cardboard, it was also visibly overlooked and charred resulting in smoky and burned tasting soup– disgusting! Also super expensive for this low quality of food.

Brick-N-Motor, how you have eluded me this long I have no idea. This lovely little truck likes to always show up for Roc Brewing during trivia only when I’ve already had a large dinner. This week I finally took a chance and didn’t eat, and POOF, the truck was majestically awaiting my arrival at Roc. I had a pork belly bahn mi, and a «small» side of corn risotto. I say«small» because it was a gigantic serving and basically cost me nothing. The risotto was creamy, delicious, and chalk full of amazing veggies that had me diving in for something new every bite. The bahn mi was a bit spicy, packed with flavor, and left me wanting more. I am very happy that I finally got to try this truck, but a bit sad that the menu rotates. What if I never get to have that amazing bahn mi again? WHATIF?!

Clearly Rochester is on the pulse of food truck culinary culture. I feel like Buffalo may still be getting there… But I was so glad to see Brick N Motor at the Larkin Square Happy Hour last night. Especially when I looked up their menu online and saw that they often serve pork belly bun sandwiches. Umm, yes. I had targeted Brick N Motor for my dinner option because they had really unique offerings. When I got up to the truck I saw that the pork belly was being offered in a noodle bowl instead of on a bun. Hmmm… Let’s see here, it’s 80-something degrees out, most seating available was in the sun, and I already have tendency to sweat profusely… But I didn’t want a tofu bun… So I ordered the noodle bowl anyway. For $ 9, the portion was a really good size. One of the large size Chinese takeout soup containers, BTW. Eventually I found a table to sit at, which was so necessary with this particular food item. I burst the egg yolk into the broth, which BTW makes ALL the difference in noodles soups like this, and dug in! The pork belly was delish. Kinda smoky tasting and a hefty portion to boot. Noodles were a bit mushy and I didn’t finish all of them. But they added shiitakes, carrots, daikon radish, green onion, and sesame seed to the slightly sweet broth which all complimented the meal. This was totally enjoyable and I would order it again, but there are so many menu items that I’d love to try first! I felt totally guilty throwing that plastic container in the garbage too. Isn’t there some way to get biodegradable containers? This is always tough for me at these kinds of events. Everything goes into the garbage even though it could be recycled or swapped out for more environmentally friendly packaging.

Came here when they were in Buffalo for the Larkin Happy Hour. Brad has raved about the place and it was the first place we stopped at. Brad got the Pork Belly Tacos and I just got 2 of their cookies. We were munching on the cookies while waiting for the tacos. They were delicious. We had the Hash cookie and a Snickerdoodle cookie. Snickerdoodle was my favorite of the two. It was chewy and moist. Perfect. Brad only let me have one bite of the taco, and from what I tasted, it was great! I loved the sticky bun they used. It was very different! I will definitely come back here!

After reading so many great reviews of this place, I finally got a chance to try them. I had he Korean pork Belly Tacos, and the Braised Beef Brisket. They were well made, and the prices were reasonable. But, I was not blown away by the flavors. Don’t get me wrong, it was good, just not amazing. Maybe I was expecting too much, after all the great reviews? The greens on the Brisket were too bitter, almost overwhelming the other flavors, especially considering how mild they were. The brisket and cornbread combo was good, the juices from the meat made the cornbread almost like a polenta, good flavors, it just needed something more, something to brighten the dish, and balance out the greens. I had a similar experience with the Tacos, they were good, but somehow muted in flavor. I am rating it three stars for now, I will try them again in a few weeks and see if I revise my rating.

Rochester’s best food truck. These dudes are culinary wizards. The BNM burger is for reals and so is the watermelon salad and their tacos. I don’t love the gnocchi with spring veggies, I do, however, love the pork cheek Bolognese! The aptly named crack cookie is phenomenal. I still haven’t had their banh mi or fried chicken but next time I see them, they will be consumed!

Who would have thought that one of the best burgers I’ve ever had would come from a food truck?! Love their food, never had a bad meal and the prices are reasonable. Besides, gotta love the fact that even though they had shut down for the day and were getting ready to leave the public market, when we stopped by for a friend to get some lunch they fired everything back up and made her some food. Such amazing customer service!

I recently tried one of the best burger I’ve had in a long time from Brick-N-Motor. Burger was cooked perfectly, a little pink in the middle. You could tell it was hand-pressed, high quality meat. The burger was juicy, bun was toasted perfectly, cheese was good, aoili was tasty, arugula added the perfect amount of bitterness/crunch. I could take or leave the pickled veggies, but I ate them nonetheless. Looking forward to trying them again very soon! Come back to Broad/South soon guys, I want to try the tacos.

I was like a needy girlfriend chasing after Brick-N-Motor. Week after week I stalked this truck, only ending in many failed attempts to sample their goods. My timing was bad. I often saw the truck parked on South Ave, usually after I just ate a meal elsewhere. But, my perseverance prevailed, mostly out of patience as i waited for my scrumptious Korean BBQ Duck Tacos in line at the Food Truck Rodeo. Luckily, I had Chris L there to keep me company and hear about all the wonderful things he learned from Paul V, the owner of BNM, after Chris chatted with him the night before, mining for all his food truck wisdom. This is the antithesis of street meat. The gourmet food truck trend is here to stay in Rochester and BNM is leading the way. You can order gnocchi from a food truck, and it tastes good? Yes. Also, who knew duck could mimic BBQ pulled pork? The duck tacos were juicy and the sauce it’s cooked in is just perfecto. I could have gone for a little squirt of it on top. I’m all for extra BBQ sauce when possible. There’s a wonderful crunch factor with the pickled watermelon chunks and crisp cabbage all cradled in a corn tortilla. The salsa verde enhances each bite. Buenisimo! The true test will be sampling their burger. Can’t wait for that day. Now that some of the City regulations have been worked out for the time being and permits have been purchased, I can keep tabs on their regular locations for lunch and late-night grub. I often keep track of them on Twitter, but their Facebook page is regularly updated with their locations too. They have a standing spot at the Public Market on Saturdays and hang outside Roc Brewing on Thursdays(6−9pm).

Alright, they got me. I’m in. I’ve been to the truck four times or so now and every time the food is great. Last time, I got the fried chicken and almost couldn’t handle the juiciness of that sweet bird. It was fried perfectly and even came with a little sauce on top. Mmmm saucy. The customer service is top notch and these gents love and take pride in what they do. I’m so jnto the variety of their ever changing menu– yes, there is always a burger, but also banh mi, ramen, gnocchi, salad, fried chicken, plus amazing cookies. Werk it.

Brick N Motor puts out a rock solid burger out of a food truck and I’m a fan. I was sick a couple weeks ago and had the good favor to stop by in the Eagle’s Landing office park for some lunch while I was halfway lucid. Maybe I shouldn’t have been driving but the draw of a fresh cooked burger out of a truck made me make some questionable decisions and I don’t regret it for a second. The burger is a custom sirloin and chuck blend(if I remember correctly) from Palmer’s that makes a highly pleasant burger. Plenty beefy and even though the burger was closer to well done than medium, it was drippingly juicy and very tasty. The cook developed a strong crust and the burger was well seasoned which in of itself made this a success. Arugula, NY aged cheddar cheese and a small amount of pick peppercorn mayo combined with a crusty roll and worked well with the beef. Bitter and rich and very satisfying especially when you’re sick. The pickled veg were interesting and generally enjoyable but I’m not a fan of cloves and the sticks had a pervasive clove taste to them. Other than that, they were pickled well and the texture and other flavors were pleasant and a nice change of pace for the typical fries. They invited us in the truck to hang out while the food was being made and they were cool guys to have a conversation with while they whipped up some other dishes as well as my burger. I’m looking forward to give them another shot around the market of the South Wedge late night. Viva food trucks!

This food truck is ridiculously good. The duck tacos are the best I’ve ever had. I was amazed by the authenticity of the soft corn tortilla, something that most places in Rochester have not yet mastered. The Szechuan sauce with the tacos was scrumptious and the whole sloppy mess with the braised meat and crispy skin slid hopelessly down the sides of my hands as I tried to stuff the concoction into my mouth as quickly as possible. The braised beef ribs are nothing short of fantastic too. At these prices, you could eat at the truck everyday. The portions are small, but the food is remarkable for a little red truck!

After sampling Brick-N-Motor at the Food Truck Rodeo-Roundup-Jamboree(it was one of the three), I was pleased to discover that the Brick was setting up shop over at Eagles Landing Office Park for lunch service this week(check their website for their schedule). Having already had the pleasure of their signature BNM burger, I went with their pork belly buns which were nothing short of excellent. Piled high with tender, braised pork belly, these buns were not the appetizer variety you’ll find at Han’s but more suited for a full meal. The asian style slaw provided a nice dose of vinegar to cut through the deliciously fatty pork and savory black bean sauce. For the less adventurous, the previously mentioned burger is a refreshingly simple and delicious take on everyone’s’ favorite sandwich. Well-seasoned meat, grilled perfectly, topped with fine aged cheddar and caramelized onions, served on a fresh bun. When your meat has an actual taste(unless that taste is highly ammoniated beef byproduct), you don’t need much else. I intend to visit again this week in search of their elusive duck taco. I certainly hope that the Brick has found a home at Eagles Landing.

This is a great find. The Duck Tacos are GREAT! If you get the chance, get some. Was lucky enough to find these folks at the Food Truck Round-up Nov.17th. Very good food at real good prices. Will have to track them down to try more of the menu.
