Super delicious! I have been to the restaurant three or four times, but haven’t actually had anything from the truck. The bahn mi is probably one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. For the price, I wish the sides were included or the sandwiches were never ending. One time that we ordered, my other half ordered the pork belly plate and we were not as impressed as usual. The pork seemed extra salty and less flavorful as to what we’re used to on the sandwiches. The only change that I think Marty’s could make would be improving the quality of their buns. On the majority of the sandwiches, I feel like the buns aren’t much better than Wegman’s hamburger rolls. Not bad, but definitely could be better to stand up with the delicious meat.

Amazing!!! Fresh and fabulous food. Absolutely delicious smoked turkey melt. Chicken tenders were super juicy and yummy. Service was very helpful for us first-timers. Extremely clean and hip atmosphere. Highly recommend this great little gem.

Picked up Marty’s for my Superbowl party. Guests loved having something different in addition to pizza and wings. Carolina and Banh Mi were snarfed down immediately. General Tso’s cauliflower was a delicious and imaginative addition. Marty takes great care in packaging their food well! Everything made it home without sloshing, was ready to serve out of the heavy foil pans, and was easy to re-seal. A very professional job!

Will pick up directly at their location next time instead of delivery. After reading all the reviews, it looks like our experience was rare so I’ll have to give them another try. We ordered for four last Friday and asked for delivery. Early in the day I called to find out what their specials were and we decided what we were craving. The Turkey Melt and Brisket plates were ordered for dinner. All of us decided it was just ok. I was told the market vegetable of the day was a spicy cauliflower. When the order was called in around 5:30pm, they were already out of it. I was given a potato salad instead and unfortunately it didn’t have much flavor to it. The Turkey Melt bread was soggy on one side and the other side that had been crisp was now lukewarm(which is why I’ll order and pick up directly from this place next time. No delivery!). Not sure if the bread ruined it for me, but there wasn’t much flavor to the whole sandwich. The others who ordered the brisket said it was just ok. Same complaint… lukewarm. We were so hungry that we dug right in and didn’t want to spend more time reheating in the oven. The one compliment goes to the fries… everyone liked those! Not sure when I’ll be back but I’ll give them another shot!

Popped in strictly to grab a brisket sandwich. Have had brisket on my mind for a little over a day and decided to try Mary’s on recommendation of a few friends. Did not disappoint. Sandwich is smaller that the usual American portion we are used to, but it’s great. Plenty enough for a snack or a resonable lunch for me. Came with chips/crisps. Brisket was done perfectly and cut thick. Great to feel some substance when you bite into it. Sauce was well-balanced. Was not expecing the pickles in the sandwich, but just added another layer to the sandwich. Will definitely be back o try the pork belly, banh mih and the beets.

I have been here a few times. By a few, I mean many times. More times than I should go to a place that serves juicy, fatty meat encased in bread that is the perfect ratio of crust to dough. On your first visit, try the pastrami/brisket offerings. It is the best brisket I have had in Rochester. Smoky, tender and amazing when slathered with their in house BBQ sauce and pickles! Other things I love to order there: Spicy Italian Beef sandwich(OMGSOGOOD!!!), Country(fried chicken) sandwich and their salad. Yes, I said salad. The slightly bitter greens with tart pickled onions are just what you need to balance out the meaty/fried sandwiches. Have a vegetarian friend? The salad and the Rosato sandwich make this a vegetarian friendly place. They often offer other vegetarian sides as well. Enjoy spicy food? You must try their hot relish/pickled jalapenos/red pepper aioli. I often request they add one or all of those on everything I order(«can I get that relish on my salad? thanks.») and they always oblige. If you never got the sandwich craze, trust me when I say Marty’s will change your mind. Seriously. Get there now.

Love the new Marty’s on Park! Been there several times via three different mechanisms: eat-in, take-away and delivery. Yes, they deliver! So temptingly easy on GrubHub to make that happen. Their food containers are also very sturdy, keep the food warm and prevent the crafted sandwich from being jostled too much. Delivery guy was super friendly! Now onto the food itself. Beef brisket is wonderful. Never been disappointed by this masterpiece. Also surprisingly delicious(although almost on the too-sweet side): the bulgogi sandwich. Large portion, tender meat, bursting with flavor. The Banh mi is also a wonderful creation, just beware that the bread can be a little on the hard side. Not as much juice/sauce in the banh mi as some of the other sandwiches to soften the bread slightly. The pork belly is stellar though — not too fatty either. Have also tried the pulled pork: excellent, full of smoked flavor, just on the sweeter side like the bulgogi. The only disappointment once was the fried chicken sandwich — overcooked and dry the one time my coworker tried it. I laughed at her for ordering that instead of a smoked meat though, so it mattered little to me. The fries are average and have a nice smattering of Old Bay, which makes a Maryland girl at heart very happy! Wonderful new addition to the local«fast food» fare scene. Excellent for delivery too.

Let me just say that you cannot go wrong with Marty’s. There’s a bunch of barbecue joints and sandwich shops around town and Marty’s has really found that perfect niche that marries them both together so well. Whether you’re in the mood for a Vietnamese barbecue sandwich like a banh mi or whether you want to take it down to Texas with their smoky Frisket masterpiece, these guys totally 100% get meat and how it’s supposed to be served. They cook it well, they partner the proteins together with the appropriate sides and toppings, and when you take a big mouthful out of their large portions, you WILL be brought to flavor paradise. If I were to knock them for anything, it’s that perhaps they season everything a bit too well. Usually my complaint in town is that a bunch of restaurants have too much of a modest hand when it comes to salt, but I cant help but feel that Marty’s been just a little bit too heavy-handed or overzealous in this area. Usually you can wash it down with a glug of cold water they have on the side or one of the delicious bottled sodas they keep in the shop, but I think my arteries would prefer just a little less seasoning! On at least two occasions I haven’t been able to finish their housemade chips, because although the crunch is beyond satisfying, the salt crystals are just too prominent. That all said, I cannot stop asking for their pulled pork-and-slaw Carolina sandwich. I cannot get enough of their beef tongue-and-lime tacos when they’re on the menu. And I cannot stop eating their perfectly braised hunk of barbecue brisket with pickles. The meat is too juicy, too succulent, and too glowing for me not to come knocking every couple of weeks or more. Here’s hoping they’re in for the long haul!

«If you don’t eat your meat, you can’t have any pudding, how can you have any pudding, if you don’t eat your meat?!» Ol’ grandpa Floyd put way too much emphasis on pudding. Marty does it right. Marty’s focuses totally on the MEAT. These people know how to deliver up consistently delicious meat sandwiches, from the restaurant on Park Ave. about three or so blocks West of Culver(and from their food truck), Marty’s gives you selections of deliciousness paired up nicely with the best breads, buns, pickles, sauces, condiments, etcetera, all to accentuate the pleasurable tastes of the meats. The menu changes with what is best/available with lots of overlap as to what will be on the menu board each day, and they also sell their BBQ meats by the ½ pound which is great option for those going gluten free or paleo. Having enjoyed the«Frisket,» the«Country,» the«Uncle Joon,» and their ‘Bahn Mi” I would say that you can’t wrong in what ever you choose, if you can find a flesh for your taste’s fancy on the menu. The house made chips and sides are all good as well. Sneak in for an early dinner takeout if you need to avoid the Park Ave crowds that can occur or stay and people watch if thats your thing is all good. The food that is — it is ALL good. «The band is just fantastic, that is really what I think. Oh by the way, which one’s Pink?» ;)

Marty’s started as a food truck, and then they opened up a storefront on Park Ave in the Spring of 2015. I’ve been to the storefront a couple times now and I love it. Marty’s knows how to make some great BBQ meat. They make their own BBQ and potato chips. When you walk in, to your left on the wall are chalk boards that tell you what sandwiches they have that day that you can order. The grill is right behind the counter, so you can watch your food being made right in front of you. There are a couple large tables with bar stools in the storefront and a few tables and chairs outside if you want to eat their, but you’re probably better off taking your order to go. They’re not meant to be a sit down restaurant. If you love BBQ, and you love BBQ in sandwich form, then you should definitely check out Marty’s.

The hardest thing to do at Marty’s is selecting what to eat. The only sandwich I had here I didn’t absolutely love was the burger, because it was too much of a good thing. Yes, it was too much juicy delicious burger meat for me. Their vegetable choices are great too, and it helps you feel less guilty about eating all that delicious meat. Since you had your vegetables, why not eat one of their ice cream sandwiches? I mean beer and potato chip ice cream cookie sandwich is the best best combination of flavors for dessert. The service is always friendly and efficient, but they sometimes run out of food, so double check with the chef when you order. My only other small complaint, is that the place is small, so it’s best to order to go in the winter. No one needs to see the mess you are going to make eating their sandwiches anyway.

Friend and i decided to take our lunch break and visit Marty’s Meats restaurant on Park Ave. I ordered the Rosato sandwich which is roasted eggplant with pickled onions, lettuce, tomato, provolone cheese and red pepper aioli. It came with homemade round fries aka chips. This sandwich was so good l, a perfect combination of all the ingredients with the special aioli sauce. The chips were a mix of crisp and soft which I didn’t mind the soft ones as much Bc they were drenched in the aioli sauce. I also ordered a side of the Brussel Sprouts which were to die for. They had a maple glaze and were tossed with cubes of butternut squash and pieces of bacon a perfect blend of sweet and smokey. Great place for a different kind of lunch option. The reason I didn’t give it a 5 star rating was because of the wait. Yes it was in the height of lunch hour but they should have at least 3 people working not 2. Other than that I’d go back and will definitely recommend.

All summer we had been meaning to eat at Marty’s given all the positive press on this place. We walked by, looked in the window but never did it… Finally we did eat here and we were sorry we waited so long to do so. The food is very good. The Bahn Mi(sp?) sandwich with pork belly and red pepper aoili was tender and very flavorful, though I could have used less cilantro. The roll was super fresh. The brisket was also excellent and a good portion(and still very good the next day as leftovers!). We ordered two sides which took a long time to come out of the kitchen, we were half-way through our meals, but it was worth the wait. The brussel sprouts with bacon and a maple glaze convinced me that they can be delicious. Even better were the Old Bay fries — crispy, yet tender, not limp and nicely spiced with OB seasoning. If only they had beer to go with this meal! The only down side this time of year is that it is too cold to eat outside and their indoor seating along the walls is limited, thus why most do take out…

*TAKESDEEPBREATH* Where do I even begin?! I could easily write a short novel on the modern marvel that is Marty’s on Park. I’ve been a long standing fan since the beginning of their food truck days, and have been frequenting their brick and mortar location ever since it’s opening. Majority of my visits are take-out, but as previous reviewers mentioned, there are a few bar stool/table options for dine-in, as well as some outdoor seating during the warmer months. Overall aesthetic is airy, casual, and very welcoming. Also felt it was worth mentioning their Genesee Beer themed bathroom(Are those cans for the taking?!). In terms of the food– I’ve indulged in every sandwich on their menu, twice over. Tried every special I’ve been able to get my hands on, as well as had them cater my jobs company picnic. Simply put, the food is amazing! At the Park Ave location(versus the truck), you have the option to either buy the daily meat options by the ½ lb, which includes 2 slices of potato bread($ 10); Or as one of their signature sandwiches, which includes their infamous house chips($ 9). They also have a menu of sides, which generally include market vegetables($ 2-$ 5) and seasonal flavored Eat Me Ice Cream options for desert($ 5). As far as recommendations go, you ALWAYS check if they have anything on special first. I will almost never pass up their specials for the sake of not missing out on something amazing. My coworkers strongly favor the order of ½ lb brisket to anything else. I personally like to hop around the menu, but strongly recommend the Rosato, which coincidentally doesn’t contain meat at all.

I have a heart on for Marty’s Meats. A lucky recipient of their Unilocal love I’ve sampled their amazing fried chicken, always juicy and tender on the outside, crispy on the out. Their bahn mi is filled with tender pork. My favorite has been the brisket, melt in your mouth amazing! I was recently shamed while talking to fellow Unilocalers who vowed that Marty’s pastrami was better than everything else I’d tried. So I put on my meat loving pants and got my can over to try the pastrami. YUM! Salty, crisped up on the flat top, tender, amazing flavor. Although I’m glad I tried it now I’m in the awful position of not knowing what I like best! It blew my meaty mind.

Let the gush fest begin. I have always been a huge fan of the food truck — they are the gentlemen who had me try(and enjoy) beef tongue for the first time ever. So, now that they have a storefront(mind you, five minutes from where I live), I am thrilled. Marty and Paul are top notch guys who care about everything they do and it shows in the food they prepare. Nothing but the best — quality is never sacrificed for convenience. Their meats are slow roasted, and/or cured, so on and so forth. My all time favorite sandwich these days is the frisket($ 9) — brisket sandwich with the simplest bun, topped with homemade pickles and their sauce. That’s all she wrote. Just kidding, I’m gonna keep going… the meat is crispy on the outside, but falls apart with each bite in its tender glory. I couldn’t ask for a better sandwich. Their Carolina is a classic — their take on a pulled pork sandwich. You must get their homemade chips(comes as a side if you order a sando). That’s pretty much all I go for. I would branch out, but I crave those sandwiches more than anything else so I have yet to go beyond my faves. No doubt the other bites are amazing though — banh mi is bangin’. Their sides are $ 5 — seasonal options and rotate regularly with an option for field greens, carrots, market veggies, and beets. Again, these will change depending on what’s available as will the meat menu. Speaking of meat, if you’re looking for meats on their own, not as a sandwich, you can pick up an order for $ 10. They have outdoor patio seating and communal tables. The space is small, but I usually take my food for takeout. P. S. great for late night grub.

Came here for dinner and was not disappointed. I got the Carolina with Market Veggies, which happened to be asparagus. My friend got the Uncle Joon with Beets. We decided to go splitskies with our sammiches and sides, which I always like doing. Only real friends will go splitskies with you. If you get the chance, you must try their dessert! It’s beer battered ice cream sandwiched between two potato chip cookies. Basically, it’s a sweet and salt party in your mouth. Because it’s Park Ave, there’s outdoor seating and street parking.

This restaurant is an extension of the food truck«Marty’s Meats.» If it were Maroon 5’s Meats then it would be something that many, many, many girls(and probably some boys, judging by Adam Levine’s falsetto) have tasted, and shared STDs with. Luckily, it’s not. I regret to announce that I was quite disappointed with my sandwich at Marty’s on Park. Here is a list of all the reasons why: (1) The sandwich at the truck was absolutely delicious, so I had unreasonably high standards. (2) The first time I came here, it was 5 mins past closing and they wouldn’t serve me — fair enough. They weren’t crazy-friendly about it. (3) The sandwich here at the store costs a few dollars more than the truck version did. It’s called the«Carolina.» (4) Main complaint: I’m pretty sure they’ve changed the sauce. It is now some sort of «apple coleslaw» and it tastes very, very sweet. I’m not into mixing sweet with my savoury, and it’s a lot sweeter than I remember the sandwich being before. I was dismayed, especially at the price(roughly $ 10 after tax). (5) Other main complaint: Not a huge amount of meat on the sandwich, I think the truck version had more. But way, way, way more bread. Too much bread. Bread overload. Twice as much bread as the truck version had. (6) My food was sitting out, unwrapped, getting cold, when I came back to pick it up. The server forgot to close up the box. What I did like were the home-made potato chips, although I will say that they were a little hard and brittle and could break your teeth if your teeth are weak or sensitive. However later on, when I was starving(after I gave most of my sandwich to my cats — sorry Marty), I snacked on the potato chips and enjoyed them a lot. I gave the truck a 5 and a glowing review, so it’s not like I don’t like Marty’s products. But when the price goes up, the bread quantity doubles, the meat quantity shrinks and the sauce gets — to my taste anyway — noticeably sweeter, to the point of syrupy fruity sweet… then a 4 is a very very generous rating but I have to be honest in the review. I fully support local businesses and food trucks becoming storefronts, so I’ll give a generous 4 but sadly I won’t be back. I might try the truck again one day though. But this experience put me off that a little bit, too. In other news, Lorraine Baines wanted to get some of her own son’s(Marty McFly) meats in Back To The Future. Marty, you’re beginning to sound just like my mother. I don’t know what it is, but when I kiss you, it’s like I’m kissing my brother.

If you love the food truck(and who doesn’t) you are going to love the actual restaurant. A few friends and I went for opening night and we were not disappointed at all(I was actually surprised at how fresh tasting and good the meat was). Ordering in simple, its an open space so you can see your food being prepared, the menu is on the wall and easy to see. They have the options that the food truck normally has plus some others. There are a couple tables to sit at and enjoy the food in addition to seating in the window. They also are going to have some outside seating which will be great. Orders come with home made chips which are excellent. There is Marty’s BBQ sauce right on the table so you can slather a little extra on your sandwich to make it even more tasty. The staff is great(Marty was there on opening night), the food came out really quick(faster than the food truck), and there wasn’t a single bad thing I could say about the experience. Since it is right around the corner from my apt I will be frequenting this place a lot. They will be open until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays and will also be having brunch on Sunday morning/afternoons. Such great news.
