Decided to go here real quick after doing laundry next door and was not all that impressed. Waited 20 mins for only 2 burgers and it was not busy at all. I’ve had better burgers than this. Wouldn’t go here again

Ran out for lunch today with my friend and had the Bacon Blue Burger with fries. Service was friendly, speed was ok, place was clean, food was hot, and my stomach was full when I left. Price was $ 10.00 for burger, fries, and drink, seems fair. Nothing super great, but for the price, location to work, freshness, I’ll go back. They have a huge menu, and a lot of milkshake flavors(I did not try) but if you like milkshakes, this might be the place to go.

I’d give their other menu items a chance but the gyro was not good. It was served open face and the pita was grilled so much it took some sawing to cut through it.

Best plates in the area! Everything always tastes fresh, and service is great. I always make sure to stop when I am in Rochester.

If flies are on your sandwich, then you’ll have to Burger Swat. If this is where you’re planning to go for a Burger… Stop! Turn around, go back out the door, and head to Wimpy’s Burger Basket in either Gates or Greece instead. And if your name is Dr. Evil, you might call it Burger Scott. How bout no, Scott. Zip it. This is the diet coke of Wimpy’s. Just one shared positive. Not Wimpy enough. Now there is a wicked irony in my advice to go to Wimpy. The irony is that Wimpy’s owners also own this place! And yet I don’t like it nearly as much. And here are all the reasons why: (1) The burgers are too expensive, even though they are nice and juicy and thick and tasty. The best thing about Wimpy(other than the meat sauce and amazing garbage plate) are the dirt cheap prices. A lot of burger places in the 585 have amazing burgers for under 5… most of the burgers at BS are well over 5. And the one under 5 comes with no meat sauce, and if you add meat sauce… well you’ll see in point 2… the price skyrockets. (2) The only cheap burger(The Stopper) is what I ordered, it’s just under $ 5. It was pretty big so that would be a pretty good deal, except that I asked for meat sauce on mine… and the whole thing came out to almost $ 7. Are you kidding me? I’m going to get charged two extra dollars to put a bit of meat sauce on there? The rest of the damn 585 area code(including Wimpy) will give you extra meat sauce on anything for free. Grr. (3) Service was just okay. And since she rang me up for that meat sauce I’ll say less than okay. While I was waiting for my food, she was complaining to a friend(another customer) about some awful customers she had and all the things they said and did. Very loudly. Not really what you want to be doing in front of other customers. (4) Wait time was about 10 mins. No problem. No wifi to use in the meantime. When the order was ready, she got my name wrong… lol. Forgot what she thought it was — some typical American name. (5) It’s not nearly as homey as the Wimpy’s locations. It’s more… I don’t know. Normal. It looks like a Burger King or something on the inside. It was pretty empty, and pretty nondescript. There was no tower of mustards either, which is part of the Wimpy charm. (6) The server was cute(but not so great), however the server at Wimpy(the one with all the tattoos) is one of the top attractions in all of Rochester, so it’s hard to compare. (7) Burger Stop conjures up comparisons to Pizza Stop, which has Rochester’s best Pizza. This place has far from the best burger in town. I can think of 5 places with better fast food style burgers and every single one is cheaper… including Wimpy #1 and #2. If you are here with someone very submissive who will do anything for you, then they are a bottom and you’re the Burger Top. I’d have given it a 4 star based on how good the meat sauce is… but with the décor, service, and pricing being significantly worse here than at Wimpy(not to mention the add ons… if I knew I’d pay $ 7 I would have ordered a fancier burger instead of the $ 4.50 one)… I really have to give it a 3. If you’re meeting someone in here to discuss how to commit murder, then it’s a Burger Plot. Still, give Burger Stop a try and see what you think. Make sure you also try Wimpy — same amazing meat sauce, better service, better atmosphere, and no extra charge for the wonderful meat sauce. And if you arrest these people for making a burger less good than their other venture, Wimpy, then you’re a Burger Cop. And if you have to run to the bathroom after eating this burger, you’ll take a Burger Plop. And if you’re a girl and you lose your virginity in the bathroom here, then it’s a Burger Pop.

I’d been meaning to write a review of Burger Stop for a while. I had fully intended to give them 4 stars, but the last couple of times I’ve gone there the quality was not what it used to be. They used to have excellent burgers, but the last two times the patties were thin and overcooked, and tasted like they had been frozen — a real no-no for a place that advertises, «Our Burgers are fresh, never frozen.» Their fries have never been great — they’re standard, crinkle-cut, frozen french fries. Would it really be that much more expensive to make them fresh? If so, I’d probably be willing to pay more for fresh fries. All the chicken items(sandwiches, wraps, salads etc.) on the menu are really good. The Greek Chicken Wrap is a big favorite of mine. Their tacos are surprisingly good too. Of the sides, the Macaroni Salad is good. The French Fries and Sweet Potato Fries are nothing to write home about. The milkshakes though — amazing. 50 or 60 different flavors and every one I’ve tried was awesome. So order a Greek Chicken Wrap, Mac Salad and a shake and you’re going to be happy. Order a burger and fries and I can no longer make any guarantees. Staff is friendly and courteous.

I have to admit — I had higher hopes after reading other peoples reviews and taking the trip out to Burger Stop. One of my favorite things to eat is an excellent burger so I was excited to try it out. The menu on the wall is amazing — they have everything you could ever think of and you can substitute anything you want. The burger was good — but wasn’t an amazing juicy burger like I was expecting. The bacon was very crispy and enjoyable. The fries — meh. They were standard fare fries, weren’t that crispy. They weren’t bad but I was just expecting something better. I will definitely stop in again if I am in the area(which isn’t often) but I won’t be making a special trip out here to have a burger as I would consider it a pretty standard burger.

Still loving this palce! I try something new almost every visit, although my fallback is always the Cowboy Burger. I volunteer two weeks a year at Ronald McDonalds house houehold sale and that’s after working my regular job. Needless to say, I’m pretty fried by the time my shift ends, but I always know I can swing by or phone ahead for a great meal. Last night, the Italian cheesesteak was amazing! You can do it eaither chicken or steak, comes with Peppers, onion and mozzarella cheese. Exquisite after a long day. My guilty pleasure.

Went here recently and got a garbage plate. I eat garbage plates all the time and I have never tried one from Burger Stop and I was really craving one. I took it home with me and got it home within ten minutes of them handing it to me. While I was eating the plate, I got extremely hot and starting feeling nauseous. I sprinted to the bathroom and I threw the whole thing up. The plate gave me some sort of food borne illness. I don’t know if it was due to employees not washing their hands or unsanitary equipment but something in their food made me dramatically ill, instantly. The plate was so good but it’s a shame that some restaurants don’t follow sanitary restrictions. Can’t go back now on account of that disgusting experience.

I just decided to stop here on a whim on my lunch break from work. The staff was very friendly and nice. The wait time for my food was pretty standard to any burger joint. It took a little longer than normal but there was a team of softball kids there or something who ordered before me, so I think they were just a little behind from the rush. The place is like a regular burger joint. Some booths and some table and chairs. It’s relatively small. They have a ton of different milkshake options, I mean… a ton. I’m thinking maybe that’s their gimmick because their food wasn’t much to speak for and it seemed the whole softball team that was there got milkshakes with their food. I ordered a veggie burger, tater tots and a drink. It cost me $ 11. The menu just said«veggie burger» and came with mayo, lettuce and tomato. When I got my food, I ordered it for there and instead of giving it to me on a plate they gave it to me in a styrofoam to-go container. Which I found odd. Kind of a waste of to-go containers and not to mention, horrible for the environment for all those that just get tossed. When they handed me my to-go box on a try, my burger it was black. Like burned black looking. I bit into it and realized it was a black bean burger. Which should have been disclosed on the menu. The outside of the burger didn’t taste burned but was very crispy, as black bean burgers usually are but the inside was complete mush. I took 3 bites and the entire burger fell apart on me. It turned to mush and fell right out of the bun. At that point I was grossed out. It was like eating baby food between a hamburg bun. I ate maybe three or four tater tots and they seemed to be a little freezer burned. I ended up taking my food back to the counter and asking for my money back. I was not about to spend $ 11 and eat baby food on a hamburg bun and possibly freezer burned tater tots. I asked them to just refund me back and just charge me for the drink. They were very kind and apologetic. Charged me for the drink and gave me the money back for the food. They offered to make me something else but I needed to get back to work anyway and being that I don’t eat meat there wasn’t much else on the menu for me to eat. I gave this place 2 stars. The food was pretty bad and way too expensive for what it is. However, the staff was really nice and helpful, which was a redeeming quality. I also really did not like the fact that they use Styrofoam to-go boxes even if you’re eating there. For $ 11 for a combo meal there are WAY better restaurants around that are also cheaper with better food quality.

This is the perfect place to grab some food if you are in high school, or want to eat like you are. Burger, shakes, hots, plates, all the Rochesterian style standards, made when you order. Served up within a few minutes and hot from the grill and/or fryer. The shakes(all four zillion flavors) are the typical bended milk-shake dairy drink product that all«family style» diner-grill-restaurants in the WNY seem to serve. The list of flavors here is so long that choosing can become an actual problem. Decent enough overall and fair prices and portions, not over or underwhelming. A-OK. Eating in or to go gets you the same Styrofoam container. Condiments, napkins, and plastic cutlery are to the left the counter, serve yourself style. The seating is fast food style tables and chairs, and the TV blaring out the ABC Family channel movie«about a relationship breaking up because the baby, which may not be his baby may have some medical condition, and he doesn’t deserve to be the baby’s father, she’ll raise that baby on her own just fine,» — barely eclipses the shrieking of nearby toddlers. What are you gonna do? I did notice something while trying to finish my fries, and I am still debating in my mind what bothered me more:(1) the fact that for some reason the owners felt the need to install a new high tech surveillance camera in the dining /ordering area(the neighbor and clientele were not sketchy at all(IMO), or(2) the fact that the drywall dust was left just sitting there on the wall railing and in the corner of the floor giving evidence that clearly someone is not cleaning the way they should. Either way, problematic.

3.5 out of 5… for post-eating depression and not ALWAYS being consistent(but usually). Also I’ve never had the delivery myself, but I’ve been around to see that they mess the delivery orders up, and I’ve heard it happens often. Never had that problem eating in though. You know those places you know you shouldn’t eat at? The ones where you’ll order a garbage plate, and toss on bacon… and then a milkshake as well… those places where when you finish eating you kind of hate yourself? Yeah… this is one of those places. One of my guilty pleasures. So this place I found out through the grape vine that is my fire department, a couple of the other guys had gone here and told me that it was amazing one day when I was in the mood for a plate, they knew my deep, unnatural love for mac and cheese as well, and told me that for NO extra, you could have MACANDCHEESE as one of the plate sides instead of baked beans/homefries/etc…I was instantly sold and went there the second I was off duty. Walking in it’s pretty typical for a small american burger joint. Typical décor, color scheme, booth style, nothing too gaudy or anything. The place was very clean(Every time I’ve gone) and there’s usually a small handful of people eating there, usually 0 – 4 tables or so. The selection is pretty vast, 3 walls, in fact, of pure menu. Wraps. Burgers. Plates. Sides. Salads. The list goes on up to Shakes. Oh man, the shakes. Now… I’m not going to say they’re the best shakes ever, because they’re not, not by a long shot. HOWEVER, I do LOVE that you can mix the flavors around. Peanut butter shake mixed with chocolate shake? Hell yeah! I’ll take one! And they do still taste pretty good. I usually get the Cheeseburger garbage plate, with mac & cheese and whatever else I’m feeling a craving for. The mac n cheese is fairly decent, not my favorite in terms of mac and cheese, but I mean come on! It’s with a garbage plate, how cool is that?! The fries are usually pretty dry, I think they might be frozen bagged, not sure. The beans are alright, but nothing super special. I still enjoy them more than the fries though. Mac Salad is decent. The burgers are usually cooked good enough and are tasty as far as plates go. All in all these plates I must say top out my favorite plates in the area. Other foods I’ve had(Not so in-depth) Feeling cliché I grabbed the Fireman’s Wrap one time, it was good. Regular burgers(Several varieties) are usually pretty good. Not top tier, but good for the price. All in all, if you’re in the area and need a quick bite, OR you are craving a plate, this is a place worth checking out.

Burger Stop is a great edition to the West side. They are affiliated with Wimpy’s Burger Basket on Buffalo Rd. They are open til 10pm on weekdays, midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. I have gotten a couple plates here, and I like that they aren’t disgustingly greasy. All of the amenities, well made and super tasty. Don’t let their name fool you, Burger Stop has a very extensive menu, ranging from different plates, wraps, salads and subs. The portions are very generous, I could definitely split a plate with someone and still have trouble eating my half. I really enjoy their sides. Great mac salad and french fries. Normally I go for the fatty gold and get a milkshake too, and they are the bomb dot com. They have so many flavors, it’s insane: vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, banana, strawberry banana, blackberry, blueberry, blue raspberry, butter pecan, butterscotch, cherry, chips ahoy, chocolate almond, chocolate cherry, chocolate chip cookie dough, chocolate malt, coffee, creamsicle, cupcake, coconut, cinnamon toast crunch, gingerbread, hazelnut, irish cream, maple, mint, mint chocolate, nutella, oreo, peaches n cream, peanut butter, peppermint, pumpkin spice, raspberry and red velvet. I’ve tried a lot of them, but I don’t wanna be on TLC’s «My 600-lb. life» so I will spare you all the deets. Normally I get just chocolate. Anyway, this place is great, clean tables, order in or out. They offer coups’ in the Clipper magazine a lot too.

There is a huge menu to be found here… maybe a little too much? In my opinion best to stick with the burgers here, because that seems to be their best executed item. Although I do think their milkshakes are pretty darn good too! A wide variety of toppings and burger variations are available. The staff is very friendly, and quick too. Not a fancy place, to be sure, but clean and inexpensive.

I can be high maintenance when it comes to burgers. I like mine the following way: Burger should be made fresh, med-well(grilled or flat top doesn’t matter), well seasoned with cheese melted on top at last possible moment. Build: bun, meat and cheese, grilled onions(if applicable), tomato(not to get the bread soggy), lettuce, then additional toppings if applicable. A medium, but neat«slather» of mayo on the top bun only! No hot mayo! Fries, medium well, lightly crisped with a tender potatoey inside, lightly dusted with salt and pepper. I gave a version of these directions to the lady who took my order and my food came out exactly like I asked! With the exception of the salt and pepper on the fries. I added that myself. Definitely met my expectations. Usually people forget something, but I was impressed at how fresh my food tasted. I would agree with Stanley M. The top bun was cold, but because you can’t put cold mayo on a hot toasted bun, they should have brought it to room temp first.

Took a spin out to Burger Stop this week to check out the burgery goodness that they proffer. I picked their No. 1 special(Bacon Cheeseburger) with a side of Mac Salad. Combined with a 16oz Pepsi, it was quite a deal! Getting a solid lunch for under ten bucks is pretty good these days, and I had enough change to toss some coinage in the tip jar and keep a buck for myself. Pro Tip: this is NOT a fast food joint. You will NOT get a heat lamp burger in a couple of minutes and be out the door! The wait time is about on par with other quality burger joints, and within about 12 minutes I received my basket of wondrous beef. First impressions… firstly, the bun was a tad cold. I shrugged that off as I bit into the burger. Bacon was crisp, iceberg lettuce was crisp. Tomato wasn’t bad for a hothouse product. The best part was the burger… which was quite massive. Thick patty, well done but juicy. Could’ve used a little salt, but I’m glad they left choice to my taste buds, not theirs. I ordered my burger with a side of their hotsauce which was… okay. Not«greeky», not«hot»… just meaty. Fell into the category of bonus meat, but I didn’t find any positive attributes beyond that. No negatives… just no real memorable positives. If I wanted more heat, I could pack it on to my hearts content, as there was a vast array of hot sauces available in the condiment area. As I was working my way through this burger I pondered my side dish. Two MASSIVE scoops of mac salad. A great tasting cold mac salad that could either serve as a bed for a plate or by itself. It was then when this Burger Napoleon met his mealtime Waterloo… I literally could NOT finish my lunch. Wisely, I packed it in & swore to myself that I would return again!

I went here the other day with my boyfriend from a recommendation from his sister. The menu is huge. They have everything you can think of. Usually when you see that, i feel like places try to over compensate for taste and give so many choices. That’s not the case with Burger Stop. I got the Shaved Chicken Wrap with grilled peppers, onions, mushrooms and mozz cheese. It came with a side, i chose fries. It was freaking delicious! There is a place in Baltimore that i always get a chicken philly wrap and i never thought anyone would come close to it… well burger stop did! It was huge, filling, tasted delicious, and there was a ton of fries with the order! It was money well spent. My boyfriend got the cowboy burger and onion rings… it looked delicious and he scarfed it down in 2.5 seconds so I am assuming it was good. I definitively recommend this place to anyone that would like good take out food and can’t pinpoint what they are in the mood for. I will definitely be back!

This place had a groupon running and is fairly new. Its not really off Lyell though its more off Elmgrove. Ok so the groupon was for 2 burgers 2 regular side and 2 shakes. Let me start by saying their menu is HUGE! So many items to choose from. From burgers to tacos and tacos to gyros. So I got the all American classic burger which is like a double bacon cheeseburger, waffle fries and an chocolate almond milkshake. The burger was absolutely AMAZING! It was hearty and juicey and perfectly cooked. The fries I thought were good as well. Nothing fancy. The shake though? They missed that. It was just a chocolate shake with almond extract. I don’t know if any of you have ever used almond extract but it is suuuuper strong and you only need a drop literally to flavor stuff. This tasted like half the bottle got dumped in. I couldn’t drink it. I still gave 5 stars because the burger was so fantastic! Everyone was really friendly and inviting there. There was one girl there and one guy in the back cooking. They did a great job. I will go back for sure to try other stuff. Definitly worth checking out.
