Excuse my once feeble brain. It took a year and a day since my original review, but I have learned the delicious chicken that is Chick-fil-A, and I feel like a new man. So why four stars? Because I lied. Chick-fil-A is good, but inconsistent — honestly, it depends on who’s working the day you’re here that decides if you’re going to be given plump, moist(you know you love it), tender chicken, or dry, crusty, chalky chicken … also, you may get a large piece of chicken or a small one. Seriously, it’s a bit of a circus here: it’s hard to know what you’re going to get. No, no… it’s IMPOSSIBLE to know. I will say that they have a tendency to be better than worse. The one thing I more commonly take issue with is the waffle fries. Not because they aren’t delicious(dip them in fil-A sauce), but because sometimes there’s a heavy handed twit that ruins them with salt. While I’m boo-hoo’ing, I’d also like to boo-hoo on the spicy chicken sandwich: could ya be a little hotter, please? Also, how about some more pickles? Ain’t nobody got time for no spicy chicken sandwich with two snow-flake thin pickle slices! To conclude, get a spicy chicken sandwich. Get some waffle fries(pray to cluck the shaker’s arm is functioning properly). Repeat. … I say repeat because, more than likely, you’ll want more than one sandwich.

3 stars cause they’re always out of something and very skimpy on giving more than one sauce out.

Limited menu at this location, but what they do have is obviously really good. They also serve a limited breakfast menu which is delicious as well. This location is in a university so if you hate long lines, definitely don’t go here! But seeing that this location & the one in the airport are the only two Chick-Fil-A’s in Michigan, it’s worth the wait! Employees are very kind as well! Pro tip: The mornings aren’t busy, lunchtime try to go before 11:45 at the latest for short lines, and then everything after 4:30 should be pretty good as well! Make sure to pay attention to their hours too, directly correlated to OU’s schedule! What is disappointing is that I’ve been coming here since September and they’ve consistently been changing the sauce rules and limits. I understand as tons of university students come through & as an avid Chick-Fil-A-sauce-phile myself, but it’s frustrating how inconsistent it is. Back in September it was the usual rule of two sauces per item, which is what it was at DTW metro airport and in other Chick-Fil-A restaurants. Then it changed to only one sauce per item, then one sauce per waffle fries, then one sauce per sandwich, and now it’s charging 50 cents per sauce with the waffle fries and you have to make sure to ask two to three times for the sauce if you order a sandwich to make sure they include it.

The only thing I can have here is the waffle fries, but is it worth it when the lines are über long, and the service is horrible? HELLSYES! Their fries slays every fast food restaurant fries. BUT you must get the chic fil a sauce with it! Their chic fil a sauce literally tastes and looks like gold(what I imagine gold to taste like at least), it’s like honey mustard with a twist. But let’s rewind to the service here, they take your name, make you wait in the side like a side chick, and inevitably you’re in an awkward group of people who are waiting impatiently for their food.(the longest I’ve waited was about 15 minutes)! I doubt they’ll do anything about it though because everyone in that school is usually lined up here, and well I don’t blame them.

Food is alright. Staff is slow. If you’re in the Oakland Center your best bet is probably Panda Express which is much more fresh

This is not the real deal. I bought 2 sandwiches that sat under a heat lamp for an undisclosed time. I will wait for a real chic fil a location to open. Avoid this place

This review is not so much about the salad. It’s their Avocado Lime Ranch dressing that’s amazing on the 3 types of different salads they have. Amazing southern/chipotle flavor and the avocado taste makes all the flavors stand out.

Normally Chick-fil-A would score higher, but this one is in the Oakland University food court. That would not in itself be a problem, but their seem to let the sandwiches sit under heat lamps quite a bit.

I’ve eaten at this Chick-fil-A several times and sadly I’m underwhelmed. It’s your basic cafeteria food, nothing better than«eats». The staff, while pleasant and helpful, are very slow and I find the constant use of «dearie» and«honey» rather annoying. I go because it’s convenient and not much else.

I guess having some Chick-fil-A is better than none at all? The food would be so much better if it didn’t just sit out under heat lamps all day but unfortunately that is not the case. I hope people don’t base their opinion on the restaurant chain off of this place because it is so good!
