We ate here while visiting Rochester over the holidays and it was DELICIOUS. I love BBQ and I’m particularly fond of brisket. The brisket at Dickey’s was perhaps the best I’ve had — wonderfully tender and succulent(not dry), with the perfect amount of smoky flavor. All three BBQ sauces were delicious — from the mild/sweet to the spicy. My husband and mother-in-law had the ribs and they were fall-apart tender and full of flavor. Now the sides… there wasn’t a side that we didn’t love! This was a pleasant surprise, because sometimes it seems sides are an afterthought at BBQ places. The potato casserole, mac ‘n’ cheese, and cole slaw were all delicious with great flavor and texture(i.e. mac creamy and not mushy). The free ice cream cone is a nice touch, too. Very impressed!

Went last night. Will not order the ribs again– they were tough and almost no meat, so after the 3 rib meal we were still hungry. I went in and sat down and a girl was sweeping. I was waiting for people do you have a menu? She points at a flyer by the door. didn’t even get me one. So ordering is confusing. Fried okra and waffle fries were good but extremely salty. BBQ sauce is delicious I will go back and buy some. THe meal says it comes with a pickle I expected a big spear one but they just throw one tiny hamburger pickle on the plate. Did not give any butter with bread. You have to ask for everything.

Love the BBQ! The ribs are awesome and the pulled pork is the best I’ve ever had. The service is faster than other restaurants with similar for and they have free ice cream. I made a root beer float.

Stopped here the other night, the brisket had no smoke flavor and was chewy, the jalapeño beans had no taste very bland. The rolls were good and the ice cream, I’ll just keep smoking my own Bbq much much better…

My potato was cold, hard and dry. My son’s ribs were cold and chewy. I gave it one star because he said the Mac and cheese was spot on.

My opinion, not so good pork ribs. Seems like brisket is getting good reviews so maybe I’ll go back one more time. Without the sauce, the ribs I had were tasteless. Menu said they were smoked — sure didn’t taste like smoked BBQ to me. Beans and Cole slaw were not bad. Bun was meh. Just a so so kind of BBQ meal. I will say, the ribs plate had very ample food. For my money, John Hardy’s still best BBQ in Rochester.

Great tasting food and pleasant environment. Staff made us feel right at home on our first visit. Couldn’t be happier with the experience! The two teenage football players I brought there enjoyed the food so much, they didn’t have room for the free ice cream. Can’t wait to go back! :)

Great food and great service! Yum! We had the 3 neat meal and split it 2 ways. The choice of bbq sauce was nice as I liked the mild. It was also very quick and we got our food within 5 minutes. The free ice cream at the end is also nice. Will return

I’m a huge bbq fan, so was anxious to try this place when they opened. I made it there for lunch today and here’s my opinion: the brisket was delicious. It was tender, juicy, had a great smoky flavor and little fat. The pulled pork was also awesome. However, my favorite at any BBQ joint is ribs, and these were a little salty for my liking. The baked beans were pretty good, but the green beans were overcooked and not so great. The second time around I tried the turkey breast, onion anglers and fried okra, all of which were very good! The staff here is very friendly, the atmosphere cool and the music awesome. Overall it was some very good bbq. I’ll definitely be back! –It’s been a few months since I posted this review and I probably eat at Dickey’s 4 – 5 times a month. It’s great bbq and a very cool place. Undoubtedly the best bbq in town.

Has potential. Went tonight because it’s in the neighborhood and I love good BBQ. Initial impressions were that the place is very loud. You walk in and unless you look straight up you will not see the sign to place your order. We actually got in the checkout line by mistake because that’s where the line was. Yes, the menu is hanging from the ceiling so that’s a «sign» I missed. You place your order but because they don’t write it down we got asked a second time right away what we ordered by another person. Then you proceed to the checkout area. Our order was screwed up twice! Delightful lady at check out with wonderful smile. Brisket was slightly dried out, pulled pork was very good. It’s new so I’ll try the place again but I think management should know that the music makes it hard for their staff to hear the customer which in turn leads to the order being potentially messed up.

Take it from a Kansas City native, this is the BESTBBQ I’ve had in Rochester. Had the beef brisket, pulled pork, and spicy sausage… all phenomenal. Many sides to chose from including fried okra, BBQ beans, and baked potato casserole. All 3 kids loved their meals too… AND kids eat free on Sunday’s!(Did I mention free ice cream too!)
