Steak hibachi is delicious and a perfect portion size. The service is… Weird. The waiter kinda emerged from the back after we got sick of waiting at the counter for a table and sat down. This has happened both times we ate here. Food has been great and it is a cute little restaurant.

SOGOOD. I had the kimchi ramen in veggie broth and my mom had the pork ramen and both were very tasty! The garlic broccoli was suprisingly really good too! Definitely would recommend!

Try to visit here once every few weeks for my Ramen fix. Love their bowls. Their pork buns are AMAZING as well. Our standard order includes two Ramen bowls and the buns. We have left other restaurants and come here on multiple occasions because they have the best Ramen in town. Love the park Ave location and the outdoor seating makes it a great spot.

I’ve been to Furoshiki a few times and it gets better each time. Nice to have this Asian fusion restaurant on Park Ave. The Ramen in the wintertime is a great way to feel cozy and warm. Taste was good but nothing exceptional, if you are an avid ramen consumer, I would say there are better restaurants in Rochester. I personally like the Miso Ramen and always have had enough leftovers to take home for another meal. Lettuce wraps are great in the summertime. I’ve only had the tofu. Pork Belly Buns are doughy but good. Overall, pretty average as far as food goes in my opinion, but the location is great.

I had a kale salad with a watermelon beer. It was good, the kale and mandarin toga there are a great summer pairing! The watermelon beer was good too, it was a wheat beer so it was on the heavier side but it was unique if you’re up to trying something new. The waiter was super friendly and the outdoor seating is nice. It’s on park so it’s a great spot to relax.

Everything I have eaten here has been delicious. We’ve been 3 or 4 times. The pork ramen is probably my favorite. The spice bomb is definitely good but a little spicy for my tastes. One time we stopped in, we tried the hibachi special. I’m not sure if that’s something that will be permanently on the menu but it was still good. I realized the biggest draw of hibachi is the show that the chef puts on that we missed out on. The service has been spotty the few times we’ve gone, which is why I gave 4 stars. The first time we went, we had used a groupon and thought the iffy service may have been a fluke. The last time we went in, the waiter was attentive enough to provide refills, which was impressive enough to be memorable compared to previous visits. Hasn’t been bad enough to stop going. UPDATE: we went back another random week night and had great service. It was cold and rainy out and there were only maybe two other tables while we were there. The ramen restored my will to walk back to the car afterwards. Hibachi has become a permanent part of the menu as well. We tried the pork fried dumplings too. Small portion of 4 dumplings but they were served with a delicious sauce. Price Rite also has a coupon on the back of their receipts for a free app less than 6 bucks.

(Rochester N.Y.) Looks nothing like your typical Japanese restaurant, which is actually kind of refreshing. It was around 12:30 in the afternoon and we were surprised that it wasn’t filled and we’re a little skeptical about how the food would be. But, soon after we ordered our food the place began to fill up. By the time we left, the place was packed. Jeff, our waiter, somehow was able to take care of everyone as if it were a piece of cake. We ordered the tempura fries green beans. The beans were cooked perfectly and the breading was well seasoned and crisp, not soggy nor greasy. The accompanying sesame aioli(I think it was) was a great match. My ramen-o-meter(husband) said he liked the broth which was a nice balance between the pork broth and miso. The portion is large and my husband barely finished it. The only thing that he said he wished he had was a leafier cabbage(what we are used to in our hometown) instead of the usual head cabbage, but perhaps this was what was locally available at the time. I loved my Asian BBQ sandwich with the spring mixed greens, but if you are a meat lover, I need to warn you that the portion of pork is a dainty one. Not bad for being so far away from Japan.

Ended up here as a happy accident after having a few drinks at a local brewery. Delicious soup bowls! Add the ribs, they are very good. I hear the ramen burger is very good so that’ll be my plate next time i return. Also check groupon for a coupon. Paid 17 $ for a 30 $ gift card coupon kinda deal. Awesome!

I’ve been back a few more times since my last visits. The consistency is now there and the broth is richer and I love the noodles… Give me all the noodles. The ramen is perfect for a cold day. My latest favorite dish is the miso ramen — deep in flavor and filling. Lately, I haven’t thought to add meat to it, but if I do, I have the pork. I still love the fried green beans appetizer and sochu bloody marys. I love that they’re open on Mondays as there’s not too many places that are so if you’re hunting for a place to eat out then, this spot is a good option. Service is great, always friendly and accommodating. It’s a pretty casual space — I often come for a night out when I don’t feel like cooking.

This place has really good ramen! Big bowls of flavorful(not salty) broth with veggies & meat(if you want). The pork bone ramen was really good. The kimchi ramen had a kick to it, but wasn’t overpoweringly spicy. They have lots of choices for drinks: sake, beer, wine & cocktails. The drinks are reasonably priced. Lots of local options and specials too. The restaurant had a very comfortable atmosphere with friendly & fast service.

One of the few places in Rochester for Ramen. They have excellent broth and noodles cooked perfectly however I feel the add-on’s and sides are too expensive. They make you pay extra for spice sauce, or rice. I haven’t tried anything other than pork bone soup, but friend recommended the kimchi ramen with an add-on of pork belly, and I think the pork belly fits the ramen so much better than pork bone. Good drink specials with every day happy hour from 12−6pm. $ 10 sake bombs and 2 for $ 8 beers.

Pretty good if you’re in the mood for soup. Trendy spot in a renovated Resturant. Good atmosphere, clean bathroom and good soup! 3 star rating: it was good, not great!

First of all, you can’t use NYC ramen joints like Totto, Ippudo, or any other as the benchmark. This ramen place is good in its on way. They’re not the traditional Japanese style, like Totto, it’s a lighter and delicious. The server/bartender was very pleasant and accomodating. It’s a small place and it can get busy during dinner time. They also have happy hour. Worthy the try if you’re craving for Ramen.

First and definitely not my last time here! The food was delicious! Despite the giant portions, I left wanting more. The place itself is somewhat small and it got busy around lunch time, but our food came out very quick. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. We got one veggie ramen, one chicken ramen, shoestring fries, and garlic broccoli. I would highly recommend everything. The staff is very nice and welcoming. We literally did not have to wait for anything due to the speediness. The cocktails were not bad, I got a «Red Dragon»(I think), but it just tasted like wine. I got a glass of wine too and that also tasted like wine, as it should. As for shots, they do not have vodka or gin — they use sake… which is [rice] wine. I think I’ve exceeded my «wine» usage for this Unilocal post. The drinks were the only cons regarding this place, but not enough to knock off a star. The portions are huge and prices are very decent. A bowl of ramen is about $ 10 and we got 4 shots for $ 8.

I’ve been on a kick of trying more Asian and Asian-fusion restaurants lately. One lazy Thursday night my girlfriend and I decided to walk down Park Ave and get something to eat, and when we got to Furoshiki we had to stop in. It was pretty quiet. There was only one other couple in the dining room with us, but it was nice to have some privacy and a little extra attention from the server. The pictures and paintings and poetry on the walls are beautiful. While waiting for our food to come out, I couldn’t help but get up and wander around the room to look at all the cool decorations everywhere. The menu isn’t super big, and I like that. I’ve been really enjoying places that only have a page or two of menu items lately. Some places have so many options that it gets overwhelming and almost feels paralyzing trying to decide what to order. The service was great and the food came out quickly and hot. Everything was delicious. When my girlfriend couldn’t finish all of her ramen, they were even kind enough to package up her leftovers to go. I know it seems like that should be how it is, but I’ve been to a lot of places recently that just hand you a container and let you pack up your own leftovers. I don’t usually have a problem with that, but when you’re dealing with soup/ramen, it’s very nice having a professional pour it into a take away container. I will definitely be back to try more on the menu. I’m lucky that Furoshiki is only a short walk from my apartment.

I was here for lunch on a weekday and it was packed. I got to try a couple different things. First, the fried tofu bites. They were okay, heavily seasoned with salt and black pepper. Second, the kale salad. It was good, especially with the mandarin slices and house wasabi ginger dressing. Next, I had half a ramen burger but couldn’t finish it. The beef patty was very thick and the ramen buns were not helping. The texture was a little off too, it was too soft and not very crispy or crunchy. Last, the pork bone ramen. I had high hopes for this one, but it did not deliver. The broth was lackluster. And broth is everything. Overall, it wasn’t too bad for a Park Ave eatery. Disclaimer: Keeping in mind that I’ve had damn good ramen on the West Coast, I may be just a little harsh with my review.

Furoshiki is a nice little Asian Fusion spot in the Park Ave neighborhood. It has a cool vibe with the art on the walls, and music playing. There are two boothy seats, and the rest are tables & chairs. There is also bar seating, and outdoor seating when the weather is nice. They have a kitchen that is open late(til 10pm), and after it getting close to 8:30 for dinner, I decided to pop in for a ramen bowl. They have a Happy Hour from Noon-6pm with 2 for 1 beer, wine, and sake specials. From 9pm-Close, they have a featured wine, beer, and sake. I ordered the Miso(pork bone or veggie broth + miso + ramen + scallions + egg + corn + greens + sprouts). It was delicious, and there was enough for me to eat for lunch the next day. With all of the soups/ramen bowls, you can add spice bombs for an extra $ 1 to clear out your nose. There are a few extra add ons with meats and eggs as well. Phở Viet is still my favorite, but Furoshiki’s ambiance and location is worth a drop in. The service was amazing when I went, and I will be returning in the future.

Absolutely loved the Ramen bowls. Ordered the pork but subbed the pork for chicken. It was absolutely delicious. Soooo much food. I also ordered the avocado salad. The dressing and the choice of veggies was perfect.

I heard that Furoshiki had gone through some changes, and I meant to go back to try it again. Somehow all this time passed and I never made it back. But after an hour walking in Park Avenue in the cold weather, my friend and I decided that bowl of steaming noodles would be the perfect dinner. We ordered the chicken wings, honey sriracha. That was the first pleasant surprise. I am particular about wings, in the sense that I want crispy outside and tender meat, with a delicious sauce. These wings delivered on both fronts. They are breaded and fried very crispy, a warning for purists, and the sauce was deliciously spicy. I loved the fact that the sriracha flavor was more prominent than the honey. Then we ordered the ramen. I wanted the miso ramen to share(pork bone broth and miso), but my friend told me she didn’t care for pork bone broth, so she ordered the chicken ramen. Both were tasty, but the Miso ramen was definitely the best, my friend tried it and regretted her decision to order the chicken ramen. Don’t get me wrong, the chicken ramen was tasty, but the miso ramen was much more flavorful. The quantity does allow for sharing(they charge an extra 1.50), so I would recommend ordering a few appetizers and sharing a ramen bowl for a delicious meal. We wrapped our leftovers and left very satisfied with our meals. My friend told me that if I visit her in the winter, I should stop by Furoshiki to before going to her house.

Ate dinner here the other day to check out their new cold-weather hibachi menu. My husband had the mixed beef and shrimp hibachi and I changed my mind at the last minute and went for the okinawa soba. We’ve been here several times and always enjoy it — ramen with the spice bomb, garlic broccoli, pork belly steamed buns, salads, hot sake — definitely always feels like comfort food! Our latest was more of the same — the hibachi was a nice potion of fried rice, veggies, seasoned steak and 4 – 5 large shrimp. Flavor was great, it looked pretty and it wasn’t so huge that there were leftovers. My soba was awesome — tasted like fresh-made noodles in a savory sauce with strips of fried pork(you could also get it with chicken) and lots of veggies. I loved it and would get it again in a second! Service here is very good too — we seem to always get the same waitress who somehow also remembers us and our preferences for hot sake and extra pepper — love feeling welcomed and attended to like that! Overall, we are thrilled to have Furoshiki on Park Ave and hope they stick around!
