Hanny’s

Hanny’s is a store in the subway level of Mayo. First, the pros. It is convent to shop at Hannys if you are waiting in between doctor’s appointments. It is a locally owned business, which I appreciate, and it also carries a large assortment of high quality clothing for the over 50 crowd. Ok, the cons. It carries nothing for the under 50 crowd, the so called «sales» are really just price hiked items with a mark down for the people coming from out of town to the Clinic to think they are getting a steal. The hours are pretty bad. Basically, if the hospital closes, so does Hannys. If you want to waste time at noon on a Wednesday, stroll through Hannys. If you want to do some solid shopping, head to the mall.

The Hanny’s stores are located in the subway level of the Kahler Grand hotel complex. You will find them near the Mayo Clinic and Methodist Hospital walkways. I’ve visited both the men’s and women’s stores during my recent visit. Staff are great and happy to provide advice or even place an item on hold while you’re considering it.
In the women’s stores, you’ll find great collections of Hobo and Longchamp bags, Smartwool clothing and socks, Spanx, Kuhl and a number of contemporary labels.
The men’s stores carry Smartwool, Kuhl, Filson and a number of contemporary labels as well. You can also be fully fitted for a suit.
Overall, I found the stores to have a lot of smart casual looks and more professional options as well. Staff are helpful with fit and sharing an opinion. I happened to visit when the spring lines were arriving, and I found some great deals on winter closeout.
