Came in for the first time ever this weekend. Can’t say I was impressed — the food was average, the service was average, and the tables were so close together that we were on top of the other diners. The atmosphere was pretty blah. I believe that all restaurants deserve a second chance but my experience wasn’t a good one.

First off this restaurant is tailored to an older crowd like others have mentioned. Has a small kids menu but the regular menu is definitely tailored to an older adult crowd minus the grilled cheese and a few other menu items. Place was very dead for a Thursday. We had a party of 11 but no orders were very special minus a request such as extra dressing or no tomato. I have worked in food service so I know that this shouldn’t have been the cause of slow service. Server was notified in the beginning of split checks. Service was so slow! We were there almost 3 hours! Kids meal was incorrect. We ordered a cheeseburger and got a grilled cheese. Kids cheeseburger was a good size. I ordered the grilled cheese without tomato and enjoyed it because it came on thick bread. My fiancé had it with tomato but was not a fan. The BLT that was ordered was enjoyed. Their BBQ soup I was told did not taste like BBQ. Another guest at our table ordered artichoke French and stated it was very rubbery. Prices are a little high. I was considering getting the asiago chicken salad but it was $ 12 for chicken, lettuce and bruschetta. I will say portions were a good size. The tomato sauce looked very generic that people had on their pasta. Had a coupon for $ 8 off so for 3 adults and one child to eat it was $ 34 with discount and not including tip. Will not go back unless invited to go with others. Not a choice I would choose in my own.

We ate here a few weeks ago. I had never been here, although my wife has several times. Although the restaurant was not at all crowded, it took about 10 minutes to be seated. I ordered a calamari app, it came without any dipping sauce which I found to be quite unusual. I was unable to attract the servers attention to request some sauce. It was ok, but not great by any means. Everyone at the table ordered some kind of chicken dish, most came with pasta sides. The food was alright but nothing exceptionable. Meh, I might be back, but I’m not in a hurry to do so.

Always excellent food and soups, and service is top notch! Very reasonably priced meals with plenty of food for each offering. Recommend highly to anybody who wants a simple or extravagant meal, you will never be disappointed here!

Staying in town looking for local stuff. Unilocal says this place has a lot of local beers. It does. Since there really isn’t much of a selection for places to eat late at night, I decided to try this one when I got out of work. Unilocaler reviews were fair. I give it a three star rating cuz the food was fair, the beer selection was as described, and the atmosphere was ehh, ok. Since the only local type restaurants are this one and an Italian place next to my hotel, I chose this one tonight since I tried the Italian place last night. Another night in town, not sure where I’ll eat tomorrow.

Keenan’s has come a long way. Yes, you’ll still see old people in walkers coming in for the early bird special, but the business is slowly transitioning to a younger crowd with more discriminating tastes. Sean, the bar manager installed a new twelve tap system a couple years ago, and regularly rotates an awesome lineup of hard to find craft beers that is sure to please any beer snob. No Bud Light or Miller Lite on tap here friends… sorry, not sorry. Keenan’s hosts frequent tap takeovers by names like Anderson Valley, Smuttynose, and Dogfishead, and offers flights of their tap offerings to allow customers to sample several beers without having to purchase a full pour. It is becoming a popular destination for local craft beer fans who know they can always find a solid lineup of local and national craft beers. You also get $ 1 off craft beers with your FCBA card. Recent offerings included Anderson Valley, Cider Creek, Stone, Ballast Point, Allagash, Founders, and Left Hand. They also have two nitro lines. And if you haven’t had a nitro pour yet, you need to try one. Smooth, creamy and delicious. Last night’s nitro offerings were Old Rasputin and Founder’s Rubaeus. Service is personal and the employees have a great rapport with customers, knowing most of them on a first name basis. Décor is a bit dated, but the food is solid, with great burgers, wings, and bar food, as well as consistently good apps. Bacon wrapped scallops, philly cheese steak, and grilled romaine salads we tried recently were all solid as well. Come for the beer, stay for the food and service. Irondequoit’s best option for a beer and a bite.

Most of the food here is typical family restaurant style food. It is ok, but maybe not somewhere that you would go out of your way to hit up. The best thing on the menu was the coconut shrimp. Everything else was just average.

Nobody makes a better Chicken French! They have a nice bar with many beer choices. They also have a party room. My mother & father in law had their 50th wedding anniversary here. The had a private menu made up!

Seafood Bisque was cold and you could tell it came from a can. The Ruben sandwich I had tasted rubbery and old. Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.

I needed a place to host an after-funeral reception of about 50 people(one never knows how many are going to attend). I stopped in to Keenan’s, and Jim Romano took charge! After I picked out the buffet, I could cross ‘reception planning’ off my list. Arriving at Keenan’s after the cemetery, I found early-arriving guests enjoying drinks in the solarium. There was a table set up for memorabilia. Kimberly immediately approached me to fill me in on how everything was set up, and I had a very welcomed glass of wine in my hand in no time flat. After that, she kept checking with me to make sure I was pleased with how the luncheon was going. The buffet was wonderful(I chose the Special Lite Buffet, and everyone loved the Chicken Fingers French). Everything in the buffet was fresh and delicious. I heartily recommend having your small event at Keenan’s. It has a private room, which works for about thirty, and the solarium(semi-private) is a beautiful spot and can hold about sixty comfortably.

Got this deal on Groupon $ 20 for $ 40 of food. I live close and heard good things. My boyfriend and I went last Friday and were both very impressed. The service was great, friendly, the food was delicious. The menu has a LOT of options. We will definitely be back! thank you! We were looking for a new go-to place for date night. We found it.

I start off with the highlight of our meal, the honey mustard! Not great when that’s the best thing that happens when you goto a restaurant but it really is amazing. I tried the JDBBQ Wing Sauce(run of the mill bbq, nothing special at all) which of course was glopped on so heavy that it ruined any chance of the wings having any crisp. Also tried their medium wing sauce, which had no heat and basically tasted like butter. The Wings were huge and fatty, and could have been cooked for about 3 more minutes. The French fries where these huge wedges that stuck together, some of which were as big as my hand. I would have given the place 1 star but they really do have some amazing honey mustard!

This is your typical plaza restaurant where the blue hairs rule the day and the night belongs to the baby boomers… The prime rib is the draw here and the french onion soup ain’t half bad either… The service is fine and the room in a little dated and dimly lit… I guess you could call it old world charm? An alright place to bring the folks for a meal…

Good«diner» type food. They have good salads, wraps and homemade soups. The offer a good selection of entrees but I have never had a «dinner» there per se.

The evening to meet a friend for a beer and a little food started off well. We sat in the bar area. We ordered a sampler of beer that the bartender didn’t bother telling my mate what was what — that was the first red flag. We figured it out but we shouldn’t have had to. Tina, our server, was exuberant. We asked for a few minutes that turned into probably 10 when Rebecca(what happened to Tina?) came over. Rebecca was okay but didn’t bother informing us that the menu was being updated. Indulging myself before I attempt to shed holiday poundage I ordered the nachos with extra cheese. Ground beef, lettuce, salsa, extra cheese. The lettuce sounded especially refreshing. When they arrived they were slathered in [sweet] chili with the ground beef no where to be seen or tasted. There was no lettuce and the chips were soggy due to the chili. Waiting… waiting… waiting… Where is Rebecca!!! My mate is eating his less than great garlic parm chicken wings(with slathered on garlic parm sauce rather than flash-fried and crispy as is the norm.) I’m waiting and waiting for the waitress to come back to see if everything is okay. RULEOFTHUMBFORSERVERS: Check back within 2 minutes to see if anyone needs anything! Really?! Why do I have to tell you this. Basically, the situation escalated as it shouldn’t have. Rebecca made excuses for not checking back, she offered to comp the nachos but I suggested the entire meal should be comped. She argued«Why would I do that, you already ate the wings.» I said because you ruined this entire dining experience, etc. etc. I asked for the owner who came over to continue the argument with me; defending Rebecca. Ughhhh! He ended up comping both the nachos and wings(«I’m not going to argue over $ 10.00») rather than a sincere apology but we got a bill for the beer sampling… Joe Keenan, this is NOT how you get return customers. But apparently that is not your goal at Keenan’s. Right down from the gym, a nice atmosphere — thought this would become a good place to meet my buddy for a beer once in a while. But no…

Having worked a little later than normal, and driving up to my hotel nearby, I suddenly found myself with a lack of choice for dining options. Thankfully, the nearby Holiday Inn told me that Keenan’s keep one of the latest kitchens in the area, and I headed over here. I sat down at the bar, and Nate took care of my orders. I wasn’t familiar with some of the beers that they had on tap, and he was gracious enough to let me sample a few before I settled on the Ommegang. On the food side, their Keenan burger was good, and the sweet potato fries better. Best of all is the price, which for someone used to downstate NY prices was exceedingly fair for the meal. Solid place, nothing spectacular, but I’d look to come back next time I’m in the area. The staff are friendly, the food is good, and sometimes you just don’t want anything more comforting than that.

Generally good food. Chicken French is very good. Seafood bisque is amazing. Just everyone beware that their truck comes on Fridays so if you come here on Thursdays especially during holidays you may fall victim to them being out of something you wanted for dinner

My husband and I had an enjoyable dinner at Keenan’s. The first local beer we ordered was subpar, but the waiter was great about exchanging it for something else. We both ordered a meal from the specialities section of the menu. I ordered the Elaine — the chicken breast was cooked well and the sauce was flavorful.
