I was born into a family that probably loves meat more than me. As a result, I occasionally get dragged against my will into meat dominated franchises such as KFC. Therefore, this is not a review based solely on the food, but instead the atmosphere, customer service, location and specials. This KFC was newly built, on Chili Ave, a few years ago. It is located directly on Chili Ave., but sits across from Hinchey Rd. You will see a small strip mall next to the restaurant. Upon entering, you’ll notice that everything looks relatively newer. We went on a Wednesday and they are currently running a mid-week special for three pieces of chicken with a biscuit, mashed potatoes and a side of coleslaw for $ 4.99. On this particular evening, the place was packed full of people. We stood in line for about 5 — 6 minutes and then waited for an additional 6 — 7 minutes for our order to be completed. This seemed to be the average wait for each patron. We were even told by another customer that, «Wednesday’s are always busy.» I think that this could have something to do with the special they are offering. Customer service was pleasant and accommodated special requests. Overall, it seems to be smoothly operated, however we did have one small hiccup on our order. We requested two thighs and a leg and ended up with two legs and a thigh instead. This error could have been fixed by simply notifying them, but we didn’t check until we had already exited the building. You will want to check your food immediately, prior to leaving to ensure that your order is correct. This KFC is owned by the same folks that own the one on University Ave., so there is a familiarity to this location. As far as the food goes, KFC is as KFC does and it’s pretty standard for the most part. My husband personally feels that the chicken is too salty for his taste. This could be a personal preference. If the sheer number of people is any indication of good food, I will say that they had a very high volume of customers during our visit.
