I tacked on an extra star cuz the cashier, who was also probably the cook, janitor and owner was nice, but this place was just awful.
Doubt many readers here will find themselves in this part of the «west side» but if you do, don’t flash your jewelry, and second don’t wander into this dump.
I only went here cuz a groupon was advertised for it a few months ago and the (obviously) stock photo they use to entice you into buying a groupon for a restaurant made my mouth water. It didn’t resemble in the slightest the crap in a styrofoam container I picked up from here.
Quite possibly some of the worst soul food Ive ever had. I guess the fried chicken was passable but the rest of the food, a stray dog would turn his nose up at. Bland collard greens out of a can, a gelatinous cake of black eyed peas. WTF is up with using Tops brand american cheese to make mac and cheese? and I could sharpen my kitchen knives on that pork chop. Eww.
The grease they used to fry the chicken and pork chop was obviously older than dirt and left a charred residue, I’m still tasting it days later. How they have the nerve to peddle this slop off as soul food is beyond me.
Shame on you groupon!
