Great hot and cold sandwiches. Recommend the hot hero, but others are very solid as well. The cold Nelson or the Rochester. The do box lunches, hand dip ice cream and have a small selection of okay cheeses.

Sandwiches are pretty simple and could definitely be made at home but when you’re out and need a quick lunch, it does the trick. The macaroni salad is good and they usually have good choices for ice cream. Prices don’t make you feel like you’ve struck a deal but you don’t quite feel ripped off, either. I usually get the hero or the city chicken. The city chicken has a good amount of chicken on it, which is probably why it doesn’t feel like a rip off. Fills me up and pretty healthy. Not a lot of parking but I’ve always managed to get a spot. Place is clean.

Good Bye Nelson Cheese. The service has been going down for the past year while prices have gone up. I was in at height of lunch rush. I asked for coffee and it was not made yet. They offered me yesterday’s coffee at a «discounted» price. I assured it was hot, but it was lukewarm at best. Two people that ordered after me got their food before I did.

I went in for cheese, since«cheese» IS their name. Low and behold they do not even sell cheese. Their ice cream is made by Kemps. My sandwich was pretty pricy, considering the bread isn’t even home made artisan, just average grocery store ingredients. Meh… I can do that at home.

very easy to overlook as it is tucked away in a little plaza with very limited parking. Great place to grab a lunch sandwich to go — or a quick ice cream cone… good quality — tiny store — so can be crowded at lunch time…

The Nelson Cheese Factory is a deli and part of the Nelson Cheese Factory from Nelson WI. This Rochester branch was started in the early 70’s. The pries are pretty inexpensive for the quality and the portion. I paid under $ 7 for a fantastic Pork BBQ sandwich and a Snapple drink. I loved the cheddar cheese and onions. It’s hard to beat quality Wisconsin cheese. The deli is easy to get to. HWY63(Broadway) and Civic Center Drive intersect to the north of the strip mall where this deli is located.
