Best Vietnamese in town. A superb value. Friendly, clean, delicious. Highest recommendation.

Great restaurant!!! Ambience: they recently renovated the place, now there is much more natural light, it is much more open and it is place where you can sit for a great meal with your friends for hours. Staff: super friendly, knowledgeable about the food they are serving and great at giving the customers space. Food: Vietnamese heaven!!! Their Lo-Mein is outstanding!!! The crab wontons are to die for! Very well seasoned food, super flavored and made with fresh ingredients! Highly recommend it!

We’ve eaten here many times and the food is consistently delicious. Service is friendly and fast. If you have any specific requests they are very accommodating. Get the spring rolls and crab rangoons. My favorites dishes are the vermicelli noodle bowls, although nothing beats a big bowl of phở during a Minnesota winter. The owner is a sweetheart.

I LOVE phở and this restaurant was great. I order phở with tofu which apparently I was the first customer they had to order this before but they made it for me and it was delicious. Great place to try. The service was great as well.

Delicious! I tried the shrimp spring rolls and carb Rangoon as appetizers. I ordered beef lo mein and it was much better if than your typical fast food style, it came with chicken friend rice which made the meal very fulfilling!

Went there to eat around 8:30 in the evening with 5 others. The staff told us that they’re dining room was closed. So we left. They must have giving up $ 100 order just to close early.

Food is authentic and good. Staff are nice and friendly. Place is a bit too small for the number of tables though! Would still recommend and come again.

Let me first say I am not super well versed in Phở or Thai or anything of the like. We went to Phở Chau solely trusting the Unilocal stars it had seemingly earned. We were not disappointed. The place was very busy for a Wednesday night(a good sign). The menu was very long and a little confusing to someone who doesn’t know their way around Phở. The food came fast and was very good. Don’t skip the crab Rangoon — so good! The staff is very hurried and there’s a quick smile with service but it is still there. Nothing fancy about the décor but when you’re slurping soup who needs it. Will definitely go again! Super affordable. Parking sucks but deal with it — it’s worth it.

Order their Crab Rangoons; they are amazing and our favorite item on the menu so far. We went a 2nd time in the same week because I was craving them. On that occasion, we picked up two orders. The second appetizer we’ve tried was their Banh Cong(Vietnamese Deep Fried Shrimp Cake). I loved them, but they were too big for my wife to eat in one bite and are kinda messy/hard to eat if you need to cut them up. We’ve tried a few items on their menu. Typically, we usually prefer the beef broth Phở when we order at other restaurants. At Phở Chau we really like their chicken broth instead. Even though their house special(Beef noodle soup w/sliced beef, well done brisket, well done shank, soft tendons, tripe, and meatball) is a beef broth, we’ll order their Mi Thap Cam(Combination Egg Noodle Soup — Egg noodle chicken soup with shrimp, squid, chicken, BBQ pork, shrimp balls & quail eggs) instead. My wife just loves the quail eggs and I’m a huge fan of the BBQ pork. We both were impressed with the tasty, fresh, and perfectly cooked squid in the dish. All their Phở comes with the typical fresh veggy sides for a great price. On our second trip we decided to try their main dishes too. We loved their Tofu Pad Thai; a great tasting dish with extremely fresh ingredients. On our next visit, it will be difficult to decide between their Phở or any of their Pad Thais. Our second dish, #56 with grilled pork and vermicelli noodles, was good, but paled in comparison to their other dishes. Overall, we highly recommend this place. The service is extremely fast. The staff are all very friendly and the owner works very hard to make sure that all of her customers are happy and enjoying their orders. The prices are very fair and a couple can stuff themselves without breaking the bank.

Pretty good, I’d recommend the green beans and their fish sauce is the best I’ve had in the area. Lemon grass noodle bowls are good too. Their prices are very reasonable. Staff is friendly. The place is clean and comfortable.

Best Asian food in town hands down. Comes out REALFAST. The owner and her family are on their game when it comes to your basic stir fry dish. *no frills or thrills and their shrimp spring rolls are meh :/ Their baked, claypot rice bowls are very authentic. Their bowls of phở are the size of your face and are delightful especially on a cold winter’s day in minnesnowta. Phở Chau = Phở wow.

Probably the best ethnic food of any kind in Rochester. Incredible value, incredible tastes, and friendly service. Some of my favorite dishes there include their Shrimp Pad Thai, traditional Phở, and the savory crêpe.

Since I eat a lot of Vietnamese food all over the US, I thought I’d try this place out. One of my favorite types of soups is phở and at least for me, that’s the thing to try out at any Vietnamese place the first time. The phở here was better than I’d expected for sure. Compared to other places I’ve had in many other cities, it’s above average. I also had one of the pan fried pancakes. Pretty good flavor on it, but it crumbled too easily — too much stuff in it. In any case, I’d come here again if I were in town.

Friendly staff, ample seating. Was disappointed with the broken rice dish and it didn’t taste or was presented authentically. The phở however is fabulous. I love the other phở spot in town but this place is just sligghhttly better.

There is a reason Phở Chau is considered the best phở in Rochester — they provide a reasonably good phở(and other dishes) at fantastic portion sizes that make it a great value. Their ‘phở dac biet’(they call it phở chau, I believe) is one of the better I’ve had with plenty of protein and noodles in a gigantic bowl of broth. In terms of taste, the broth is a little on the mild side and not nearly as complex as their other competitor in town. However, what they lack in taste is made up by very quick service despite being on the busiest Asian restaurants in town. The dining hall is very cramped and have been full the past three of my visits. I can also highly recommend their ‘che 3 mau’, which is a sweet dessert drink with coconut milk.

Really enjoyed getting take-out from here! I actually read the reviews and got beef lemongrass vermicelli, spring rolls, and chicken ginger curry. The portion sizes are huge and so flavorful. I didn’t try the pad thai, as this restaurant is Vietnamese, but I hear it’s good. There seem to be a lot of raves over the Vietnamese crêpe and pork dishes. Highly recommend, especially for takeout. The restaurant décor is really simple and casual. Even with Hugh crowds, dishes come out super quick. Prices are fair and on point :)

I’ve had good Vietnamese food all over the country, and I am surprised and pleased to say that Phở Chau is some of the best I’ve ever had. Family owned and friendly service. Not to mention absolutely delicious food. I was home for the holidays and came here for lunch twice. Once with a large group of 20, and once with my family. For the large group of 20, they were extremely accommodating, despite the fact we took up more than half the restaurant. Service was great and they brought out all of our entrees promptly, at the same time, and hot and they didn’t mess up a single order! That’s quite a feat. Prices are EXTREMELY reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. The spring rolls are good(not the best I’ve had). The appetizer you cannot miss is the Vietnamese crêpe. It’s HUGE(bigger than my face — that’s saying a lot after the amount of eating I’ve done this year) and can easily be eaten as an entrée. I ordered the beef lemon grass vermicelli noodle bowl both visits because it’s that good. The beef is seasoned well, vegetables are super fresh but the fish sauce. OHMYGOD. The homemade fish sauce is the best fish sauce I’ve ever had. I can’t even describe how good it is. You will want to drown in it, I’m not kidding. The other entrees I sampled, phở and sweet and sour soup, were also divine. Highlights: service, Vietnamese crêpe, lemon grass noodle bowls, FISHSAUCE, price(SOCHEAP) :D
