Visiting from out of town, I relied on Unilocal to find a place for dinner on Sunday night. This Irish pub was just what I wanted. The shepherd’s pie was delicious, as were the salad and glass of Cabernet. The place was very comfortable, and the service very pleasant. Upbeat(recorded) music was also fun.

Classic Irish pub. Ate here Friday night with my wife and daughter. There was live Irish music which was great. I had the French Onion soup which rivaled high-end restaurants I’ve eaten at. The Turkey Reuben was awesome; best in a long time. Everything else was great as well. A truly fantastic time!

Awesome Irish beers on tap — go for the Guinness or Magner’s. Shephard’s pie is super flavorful and rich. You’ll leave with leftovers. I recently had the Irish snack box which is good if you want something small. The bangers have a good snap to them and the fries are cut thick. The Guinness Stew was also a win as it was hearty and well seasoned and thick like a gravy almost with large chunks of beef, potatoes, and carrots. The atmosphere is great and there’s often live music or an open jam with fiddlers and traditional Irish music, which only adds to the experience. It definitely has the vibe of a local place where everyone knows each other so you feel out of place walking in, but then instantly welcome as everyone including the staff is so nice and friendly. Parking is a hassle, I just went for street parking down the side street off Mt. Hope to avoid any mishaps.

My first visit to this fantastic Irish pub. Swung in for a lunch by myself to try some of the food that I saw on photos on Unilocal(kudos Stan, your photos were great). So many great reviews by the best Unilocalers I know(Jan, Hope, Marissa, you really nailed it) that I had to try. I was not disappointed. So many dishes to try, which is just another reason to come back, but I decided on the white chicken chili and the the Irish snack box. It was the perfect combo for me. The WCC was fantastic. The chicken was delicately tender and the flavor was rich with just enough kick. Plenty of meat too. The Tabasco habanero sauce made it just right for my tastes. I believe that this will be my regular dish. The Irish snack box(although a meal in itself) was a nice accompaniment for the chili. The bangers were moist and tender. The bangers had enough flavor to eat«naked» but a tray was provided with 3 kinds of mustard for any enhancement you like. On the tray was malt vinegar to that I generously splashed on my fries(hmm, now a fish fry comes to mind). What to drink… well I had a Guinness but was pleased to see the selection of Irish beers on tap, including Harp, a delicious and underrated lager in my opinion. I don’t want to leave but I know that I’ll be back. I have to try the Guinness stew and Shepard’s pie.

Food is amazing and on point, the server/bartender lacks personality. Will come again! Fries, Ruben and Shepard’s Pie are on point. The Sheridan plate was God as well.

A few of my gfs and I came here to celebrate International Women’s Day and I am so glad that we did. The food was ridiculously good. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but it’s a nice decent size dining area. Our Sunday lunch crowd was minimal so we didn’t have to deal with it being packed as I’ve read in some reviews. Even without a crowd, expect to find parking nearby because they only have 4⁄5 spots in front. Most of my friends parked across the street. I parked on the next street, but I don’t think you’re allowed to. Oops. Their menu consisted of bar food, but also a section of traditional Irish dishes which was my main focus. Most of us ordered different dishes so I was lucky to get tastings of each(luck of the Irish). Anyhoot, I ordered the colcannon which was a delicious mound of garlic mashed potatoes with sausages and topped with an over easy egg. The sausages were very light in flavor and texture as though they make their own. The tators were whipped with kale and diced red onion. The onions were very fresh and maybe too many were mixed in so it overpowered the flavor for me, which was the only downside of the dish. I had bite sized samples of the shepard’s pie(so flavorful), calamari(light and not battered), the reuben(omg, I’m going back to order one), fresh cut fries(a tad too much salt but good). Overall, I was really impressed with the food and I look forward to coming back for the whole reuben sammie!

Had lunch at Sheridans on St. Patrick’s day. Corned beef and cabbage was delicious! The corned beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender and not fatty. The cabbage was roasted not boiled. It went perfectly with the boiled potatoes and carrots. The delicious meal was topped off by the most delicious buttered and grilled soda bread and a pint of Guinness. Yum! The food at Sheridans is always good and the staff and patrons friendly and welcoming. I can’t wait to go back!

Good beer selection. There are plenty of menu items that looked so appealing. Super lucky to be with UnilocalERS that share. We started with Irish nachos, loaded with great toppings. I got to try the box, the sausages were good, fresh cut fries fantastic! The Shepard’s pie was also delicious with a nice ratio of potato to meaty love mixture. The special corned beef hash dinner was a bit heavy on the diced red pepper for me, you couldn’t really enjoy the corned beef. Sadly the over easy egg was a bit well done. But, we were a big group, maybe it got away in the mêlée. I think I had the dinner winner ordering the Guinness Irish stew, it was rich and full of flavor, a little shy on the meat. The accompanying soda bread was toasted and soft… so good! I wondered if our reservation messed up the flow of the place. There was live music but they were situated practically in front of the door making it hard to maneuver around them. Some of their adoring fans really jammed the place up.

To celebrate International Dinner Night with our Unilocal!crew, we went out to Sheridan’s Irish Pub. What better place to get the party started for the St. Patrick’s Day Holiday week here in Rochester. The atmosphere was very welcoming, right down to the owner of the place. Our server brought us to the back private area immediately, where he then turned on the private TV to CNN. The atmosphere made you feel like you were in a real pub in Ireland. The band that played on the floor, was an old school Irish jig, with fiddlers playing along to the music. They had a wide range of Irish Beers to choose from on tap at the bar, which our server was helpful in explaining each one to us. I choose the Magners Irish Cider, along with the Red Baron Irish Beer. Both came in a really TALL beer glass! The magners beer tasted light, and still had that hard cider flavor. The rest of the team had the traditional Guinness, which they all seemed to enjoy. Refills kept on coming, so thankful the server kept up on it. At one point I did have to go to the bathroom where I actually NEEDED my jacket cause it was cold in there. Finally a patron and I made an executive decision to CLOSE the bathroom windows, I think it worked! The server was attentive ALL night, and gave us the specials of all of the food when we got seated. Here comes the Irish fanfare of food. APPETIZERS: The Irish Nachos was a great start to the evening. I love the taste of fresh baked chips. I think that is one highlight Sheridan’s did a great job with. Plus the owner brought out more baked chips with vinegar on it, after we finished the Irish Nachos with the thick cheese and crumbly bacon bites. ENTREES: As a team we ordered everything that was going to be a traditional Irish favorite– Guinness Stew(Special) — this was the BEST of all of them. You can tell the stew was stewing in the pot for awhile. The beef was soft, and the stew texture was thick. The fresh carrots topped off this hearty stew nicely. The Irish Soda bread was the added bonus to the meal. Shepard’s Pie– it tasted OK to me, You can taste the seasoning in there, but no HUGE flavors that wowed me. The mash was whipped nicely on top, but could of used more of a golden top finish. Corn Beef Hash(Special) — this would of worked better if the egg yolk was more runny than well-done. So the dish as a whole did not come together, but separately the components tasted fine. The corn beef hash was not over-salted. The Colcannon Dinner: The egg yolk in this dish was in fact runny, and it tasted great with the sausage. The mashed potatoes underneath were buttery, and had all the traditional Irish flavors with a hint of bacon. Bangers and Mash– love thick seasoned sausage, and this one was no disappointment. Again, creamy mashed potatoes. I have to point out, that also there French Fires are freshly cut. I felt like i was eating a REAL french fry seasoned well. Overall: Great Pride of the Irish, Tasty selection of Irish Beers, Irish Nachos, GUINNESSSTEW, Colcannon, Fresh Baked Chips, Irish Bands, and the Fiddlers… I will be back.

Had our third meal in a few months last night at Sheridan’s, and it was really good, as were the last two times we ate there. Sheridan’s menu is bar food(burgers and wraps) with a couple of Irish items. There’s nothing really exotic on the menu, but there’s an attention to detail in everything they make. The fries, for example, are always perfect — hot, crispy, not greasy. I’ve had the full Irish breakfast and everything on the plate was good. Service is attentive, polite and quick, even on busy nights. It’s clear that there are a lot of regulars there, but there’s no attitude. If I hadn’t wandered in here with a buddy when our first choice was closed, I wouldn’t have stopped at Sheridan’s. It’s kind of a hole-in-the-wall and parking looks like a bit of a PITA(it’s not — you can park in the big lot across the street). But don’t let the appearance fool you if you want some good, basic bar food, because I don’t know anywhere better in Rochester.

Sheridans is one of my absolute favorite places to go! I love Eddie Sheridan! He and his wife are both so super nice and they have such a great staff! The bartenders and wait staff are so attentive and you can tell they all really like working there. Drinks are very affordable and every time we eat there we are very happy. The crowd is great too and they have Sunday sessions of traditional Irish music! Definitely check this place out if you are looking for a great pub to hang out at, you will not be disappointed!

We stopped by for dinner — lot of fans but no A/C? Nice little Irish pub with a good number of tables inside and outside. Ordered a Guinness on tap and their reuben sandwich w/thick-cut fries and a pickle spear. It was so good! Not greasy at all with a good amount of corned beef in the sandwich. Will be back to try their chicken pot pie when the weather is a bit cooler.

Was in town for the week, and looking for a place that served Guinness on tap. A great little Irish pub, but the food was superb. The Sheridan burger with mashed potatoes on top is one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The beef was excellent Angus, and flavoured quite nicely. The homemade chips on the side had a nice flavour as well.

I spent one year in Rochester studying at the University right next door to that place which became our headquarter with my friends. The service is awesome and so is the atmosphere. The food is ok but you mainly go there to drink beers, have a good time with friends(and in our case playing darts).

Great, friendly atmosphere! Beer garden out back. My favorite menu items are the shepard’s pie and Sheridan burger– there’s mashed potatoes on the burger!!! Traditional Irish music sessions on Sundays and the occasional traditional Irish breakfast which is very tasty and hardy! The owner– Eddie, from Dublin– is very personable. Staff is friendly.

Sheridan’s is pretty fantastic. Fresh Guinness and really really good pub food. Live Irish music sessions every Friday afternoon. Friendly atmosphere, although I can’t shake the feeling that this place used to be On the Rocks? Remember that place?(If you don’t, the name says it all). The pub is filled with patrons of all ages and you should definitely get the fish fry on Fridays, the shepherd’s pie and the Irish nachos. The bartenders are super friendly and if you’re there on a Sunday afternoon, you’ll for sure enjoy the lively traditional session music. There’s also frequently live music on Friday and/or Saturday nights. Downsides to Sheridan’s include the parking(it’s terrible) and the crowds. It’s a small place and during Lent you may have to wait up to an hour for your table on a Friday. Otherwise, it’s a great place to catch up, have a pint and enjoy some good conversation and music.
