Silk is the last bridal shop I visited, and the place where I found my dress! The store is small but gorgeous, with the same upscale atmosphere as salons I went to in Phoenix. I can’t say the same about other bridal salons I went to in Rochester. The sales consultant I worked with, Jenna, was excellent. She was friendly, laid back, and helpful. She steered me in the right direction as far as price point and designer, and then gave me time to browse/pull dresses that I wanted to try on. Since I had already tried on a fair amount of dresses elsewhere, I really appreciated the flexibility to try on specifically what I was looking for. The store was very busy but Jenna acted like I was the only appointment she had that day. Unfortunately, the owner did not handle the stress as gracefully as her consultants. She criticized and talked down to consultants in front of customers which made me really uncomfortable. It was unprofessional and gave me pause about where to have my dress altered. I can’t stress enough how many beautiful gowns there are to choose from. As someone who was not looking for a strapless ballgown, it was such a relief to find so many modern and classy dresses at Silk. Each dress had a price tag so there were no surprises. I tried on a bunch of dresses that I loved, but eventually tried on a dress that Jenna suggested at the beginning of my appointment(another bride was trying it on at the time and looked like she was going to buy it). It was an off the rack gown in my size and fit perfectly!!! All of the consultants and the owner came over at this point, and there was no doubt this was the dress for me. We celebrated with(okay, fake) champagne and they were nice enough to take some pictures of my Mom and I. The best part is that I was able to take the dress home with me. I highly recommend the dresses and experience of shopping at Silk Bridal. Their price range is approximately $ 1000-$ 3000, and the value/quality of gowns is so much better here than anywhere else around. I would suggest making an appointment and bring just a few people shopping with you.

I purchased a dress from Silk, and my experience was great. My only complaint is that they don’t have dresses in a range of sizes, so when I received my dress, I did not like it. I would have appreciated if during the appointment the consultants were more honest in what would be best for my body. For example-the dress I purchased I could not wear a corset bra and I’m a triple D. Things like this would be beneficial especially when you’re being stuffed into a too small dress. Had I known this I would have gone with another dress and I would not have ended up having to purchase two dresses. Overall Silk is a great studio, but I would have liked a little more direction.

I cannot speak highly enough of silk bridal and thimble tailor. I tried on TONS of dresses and Silk was my last stop. They had fewer gowns in the store and I liked more than anywhere else I looked! Fatima is absolutely incredible and talented, as well as the girls who work in the boutique. Every time I went for a fitting I felt like I was going to visit family, and she without a problem tailored and pressed all of my bridesmaid dresses and my husband’s suit on a last minute request. I LOVE this place. There’s no reason to look anywhere else!!!

This was the best bridal experience I’ve had(after going to other salons in Manhattan and Connecticut). Here’s what I like about it: –They only take 1 or 2 brides at a time, so you don’t feel like your at a bride mill like some places. –The store is amazingly beautiful and chic. –The associate was helpful and not pushy, which is refreshing. –You have the ability to look through the sample gowns on your own and pick out what you want. The dresses aren’t in tacky bags. Plus, they have some really gorgeous dresses. This is what a wedding dress shopping experience should be liike.

This store could not have given us a better first impression. The sales consultant was so sweet and let us in even though we hadn’t scheduled an appointment. The décor was different than any other bridal boutique I’ve ever seen! My sister said Yes to the Dress at Silk and one of the women working there immediately popped some bubbly for our group. The owner of the store was extremely knowledgeable about everything we thought of to ask her – from flowers to «mother of the bride» dresses. She knew it all and could not have been a more genuine and lovely store owner. They also have a clothing boutique connected(owned by the same family) and the selection in there is amazing. What a great atmosphere! I would encourage any and all brides to give Silk a shot, you won’t be disappointed.

LOVE this store. I have used the tailor owned by the same family(Thimble Tailor) ands was really pleased with the service so I am thrilled that they are expanding. We went to 3 other bridal stores in Rochester with my sister and had such a wonderful experience at Silk. The dresses are beautiful but more importantly their customer service is wonderful. She was able to find a high quality dress at an affordable price, and they made an effort to make it fun for the whole group. Must go!

This place is FANTASTIC. I can’t say enough nice things about the selection and service. I had gone out to Rochester to look for wedding dresses, and was about to head home but stopped at Silk unannounced and on a whim. I would have totally understood if they had turned me away for not having an appointment, but they were so welcoming. I said yes to the dress and they took pictures for us, gave us sparkling juice, and offered great advice on accessories. I ended up spending way less than I anticipated on a wedding dress and I couldn’t be more thrilled with it.
