It should get NEGATIVEZEROSTARS! Run away fast from this disgusting diner. I would not even get a water from here. It is so dirty. There were some dirty looking people working here with dirty uniforms on. This guy was mopping the floor with BLEACH while people were still eating. Unless you just shot a bag of heroin, do not go in here. Ever. The Dept of Health needs to shut this dump down.

If there were negative stars to give this Greek diner We would rate this negative five stars! Zorba the Greek would run from this place! He’d be embarrassed that these folks call this a Greek Diner. We ordered a Greek specialty Spanakopita! It came with a Greek salad ! It was greasy like it had been fried in dirty old oil! Awful. Salad was mostly iceberg lettuce! The other entre was chicken French a special! Thought that would be safe! Apparently not! It was a standard frozen 6 oz piece of chicken and you guessed it deep fried in the same grease errr I mean oil. It came served over pasta! We asked that the pasta be freshly cooked al dente! They said NO! It’s already cooked we were told. I wouldn’t serve what came out as scraps to a homeless dog! Woof woof! Did I mention it came with a salad? That consisted of a bowl of same iceberg lettuce with yellow onion slivers bitter and two small pieces of tomato! Left 95%! Left the entire pasta disaster ! Looked like it had soaked for hours on a hot table! The coup de gras was that we were both sick all night last night; my guess is probably from the old oil. A complete and utter disaster.

Went here one evening with a friend. I ordered the soup and chicken wings. Everything was hot and delicious. The service was also prompt and courteous. I asked to bag my food to go, but when I left the restaurant I realized I also left my bag of food there. Doh! Even so, the waitress was exceptionally nice to wait for me to come back and remember that I left my food there!

This place is close to my place and for some reason it took me 2 years to give it a try. I went twice recently, both for breakfast, and I was pretty impressed. First time I got banana nut pancakes and they were definitely the best banana nut pancakes I have ever had. The 2nd time I had a waffle, which are only available during certain hours and it was also pretty good, my only gripe is that I thought it was possible it could have been a little undercooked but I couldn’t tell and didn’t complain so that’s on me. Never had anything other than breakfast but if youre looking for cheap and lots of options this is a good spot. Parking lot is a huge plus also!

Fish was very fishy tasting. Old fish. Could not eat. 2 of us ordered it. Told them and they pretty much said to bad. No offer of something else or discount bill poorr management. Never again

Formerly known as Gitsi’s, the Avenue Diner, same owner with a new look, is much brighter, and the revamped menu is very pleasing. Gitsi’s was always my favorite diner next to Jay’s, and their quality is still tops. Reasonable prices, made our lunch experience great, along with the fast, friendly service with a smile. Definite must eat at. Highly recommend.

This is your basic diner. Sometimes you’re in the mood for a simple breakfast of eggs and bacon, and not something fancier or more exotic. This place fits the bill. This diner is located in the old Gitsis location, and it has been updated(cleaned up). The waitstaff is pretty efficient, although we didn’t get enough visits. The prices are a bit higher than before, but the updated location warranted an updated menu. I got the early special, which is Eggs, bacon or sausage, French toast for 5.70, I also asked for extra home fries. My friend got a breakfast bowl, don’t remember the name, with sausage gravy, eggs, home fries and pepper. Good eggs and bacon, OK French toast and home fries. The breakfast bowl was tasty. We ate the whole thing! I wish the home fries were crispier. But at the end, for the price and location, I think I will be visiting this place often.

This place had the quintessential diner menu, along with a couple of specials thrown in there. It was my first visit and I was pleasantly surprised by the menu and the food after having a few underwhelming breakfast’s at Char Broil in Brighton. Not to say that there’s anything wrong with Char Broil, but this place is clearly better. $ 20 all in for 2 of us for heaping plates of food with a couple of sides and some tea. I call that a good, cheap, successful weekend breakfast! Would recommend a Saturday or Sunday morning visit.
