Amazing !!! We were fortunate enough to have The Bento Box at work this week. Staff were very friendly and the food was awesome. I shared some of the menu items with a co-worker because there were so many choices that sounded great. We tried the crab cakes, buffalo chicken, fired chips and the pork belly. All I can say is WOW. The flavor was awesome. Portions were ample too. Everyone should experience this amazing food.

The staff are the friendliest, happiest staff I’ve ever met in a metal box on wheels. I tried their buns, a pork belly and a Buffalo chicken. The pork belly was tender the fried chicken well portioned and as crispy as a fall leaf. The buns were soft and pillowy. Toppings(green onion, cilantro etc) were ample but not overwhelming. They were super fresh, cut to manageable size.

Amazing Thai fried rice! Jasmine rice stir fried with spring onions, lemon, coconut, and crushed peanuts. All the goodness! Perfect meal on a October day!

Bento Box added some things I can never say no to on their menu — fried rice and anything with fried chicken in it. The Thai Fried Rice is outstanding. I would say it is one of the best I have had in the area. The jasmine rice is seasoned and fried in ball form(Thai arancini style?). Then they break apart the rice balls on the grill and stir fry it. Then it is topped with crushed peanuts. They also have Sriracha available — be sure to drizzle a little on this fried rice to take it to the next level. This dish is a great balance of crunch and soft with a good amount of salt. They also have a panko coated fried chicken sandwich that I have yet to try but it sounds delicious. In my book, they have been upgraded from«I rather eat an iceberg salad!» to «I will read their menu to see what they have today … and end up ordering the Thai Fried Rice anyway.» Check them out! Just stay away from that chicken meatball bao.

The pork belly bao is delicious! The pork belly was perfectly seared– nice and crisp on the outside and juicy in the center. They topped it with a home made slaw and awesome spicy sauce. My favorite part of the bao is the sauce. Its perfectly sweet, sour and spicy. I wish they would sell their sauce so I can put it on everything. Every bite burst with flavor. Yes the portions are small(about palm size), so its more of a snack than a meal. A definite must try!

Tried the banh mi for lunch, it was tasty, and a nice change from the other places that serve it in the Rochester area. It had some light sweet red sauce on it, kind of like what you might get with spring rolls at some places. Folks in the truck were really friendly and everything tasted fresh and well put together. Some may think portion size is small, but I thought it was just about right for lunch. Would be nice to have a different side option instead of fries, like a salad or something.

I have found the best tasting pork belly bun in ROC! I ordered their BBQ crispy pork bao at the Rib Fest and the seasoning is delish. The pork was tender and the edges were seared; a delightful texture with each bite. The homemade coleslaw was mixed with a perfect blend of sweet and spicy sauce. If you’re intimidated by Sriracha sauce, don’t be! The heat is gently subdued by the sweetness. This is a must try and I’m looking forward to checking out the rest of their menu!
