Completely unsatisfied with my experience at Wehner Mower. Cliff notes version of my experience: I had a simple repair on a simple piece of equipment. I asked if it would take longer than a week and stressed that this was a condition of me retaining Wehner for servicing versus going elsewhere. I was told it would be a week or less, and I paid my $ 45 «pre-service free» which is either the company’s up-front protection for people who don’t return to collect their repaired equipment or Wehner’s way of enforcing you to go ahead with the repair. The tall gentleman with the crew cut did not even bother to go outside to inspect or secure my equipment when I dropped it off, preferring to say: «I see where it is, and I’ll take it inside later». He also failed to provide me with an estimate of the cost(probably because he couldn’t be bothered to go outside to inspect it), and instead stated the ‘the $ 45 assessment fee will go toward the repair’. Four days later, and I call to find out Wehner had not even ordered the part! Two weeks later(after hounding them by telephone every two days since they never bothered to keep me appraised of the delay), I finally get my equipment back. I picked the equipment up, and then realized they have not reinstalled a vital piece of hardware needed to use the equipment! I then have to return for it at my inconvenience(definitely they could have offered to bring it to me given the horrendous service I’d received to this point). Summary: slow, poor customer service, some rude employees, careless after-customer care, and VERY expensive. The gentleman who took in the repair, and with whom I dealt until the repair was complete, took the stance that he was doing me this massive favor by allowing me to give him custom. I include a two-star rather than a one-start rating only because Pat(another employee/owner) was exceptionally professional, and I think realized the sub-standard service I received on my first(and last) visit. Ultimately, the repair was sound. Unfortunately, I will not return and I cannot endorse my repair experience positively. Please do a google search for this company(my first mistake) – you’ll see several other customers had similar experiences.
