My parents and I saw a sign for a show at 8 PM and decided to check it out. The venue is super home-​y (their baked goods are definitely homemade and delicious… and it looks like you’re kind of camped out in someone’s living room) and the owner spoke to the crowd to introduce the group (Modern Man) and was very entertaining. I’m not sure if it’s because of the performing group or because of the normal clientele, but I was definitely only one of two people under the age of 30. But I really enjoyed the cozy, small town atmosphere of this venue! And the group that played was hilarious! Definitely recommend this place!

I have been meaning to write a review of The Mainstay for quite some time now.
I was fortunate to catch a bluegrass show performed behind The Mainstay last summer. Superb. It was the perfect blend of small town good times with good music.
This little down home spot really brings in some great music of all genres. Check out their website (for performances) if you are planning a trip to Rock Hall.
Also, during FallFest (in September) The Mainstay provides live music on the street.
