While we have only eaten there a couple times– we mostly go for their huge selection of IPA Beer. Its a welcome addition to the area– Something different, just wish they were open all year.

Cute little place in a small town. Service was fairly ok… but food and coffee didn’t warrant a second visit from myself and my family.

Last week we went in and purchased some coffee beans which were great. Today we went in to have a late lunch and it was nothing special. The panini was good but very oily. The bread was drenched in pesto on both sides. The chips were toasted bread which was not bad and it’s a unique idea, something I would see in the city. The burger had no flavor. My hubby put A LOT of salt and pepper and kept putting more after each bite. They only have a handful of beers on tap and you can’t drink the ones that are on display in the room. It’s really hard to find a good place to eat in upstate NY, especially in Sullivan county but we will keep looking.

4 stars strictly based on the quality of food, especially breakfast. However, there are continuing customer service issues that make visiting Brew very frustrating. They need better management and a larger staff. When you arrive, it is not clear if Brew is a full service sit down establishment with wait service, or if you must order at the counter. It seems to be a strange combination of both. A simple sign directing customers to be seated would solve this problem. After placing your order there is inevitably a long wait for the food to arrive, if it ever does. Often the staff has to be reminded, as it seems they fill orders in random sequence. Many times the details of the order are wrong. This is all very perplexing because they have a modern point-of-sale system. They also refuse to offer refills on coffee, despite the fact that we typically wait 30 minutes for our order. As a local resident I really want to see this place succeed, but at this rate, I doubt they will survive the winter. Brew is a nice concept and has great potential, but they need to find a manager who can effectively run it.

Round three of the Rock Hill Trifecta Weekend. So you have a place with a GREAT beer selection, right off the highway AND they serve coffee!!! YES. Came here for a flight, great service, nice ambiance. Came back the next morning for breakfast, pretty good. My Avocado Tomato and Cheese omelette was tasty, but a tad greasy. I was hungover from a night of beer, grappa, sake, & rye Manhattans, I wanted a nice latte. The espresso machine was broken. HOW!!! I don’t own a business, so I don’t know how long it would take to fix a machine or even how much it would cost. But if you are a coffee shop and most of the coffee menu has espresso in it one way or the other, you should have espresso. plain and simple… Of course I’ll be back, shut up guys.

Stopped in at Brew while staying at The Sullivan(hotel owned by same person). I had passed through here before to fill a growler and thought the place had such a cool vibe. We ate at Bernie’s(the restaurant ALSO owned by the same person) and afterwards came over to Brew for a beer on Saturday night. The girl working the counter was sweet and we had fun chatting with her while tasting a beer flight. The next morning, we came back for breakfast before heading out. I had the breakfast burrito which was delicious and a juice — and we sat outside and ate which is also great because we had our dog with us so it was extra convenient. I love this place and will definitely be back but my two suggestions for improvement would be: 1. Bathroom. There is only one toilet, which is fine — but when you only have one toilet, that toilet should be clean. When I came in here after breakfast on Sunday morning it was gross. I would be shocked if someone told me it had been cleaned that day, or even that weekend. 2. The owner was standing at the front counter chatting with someone who was eating. I think it’s nice when the owner wants to be actively involved in his business but this owner didn’t say hello when we walked in the door or act pleasant during either of the times I came in contact with him during the weekend. He probably should have checked in on the bathroom while he was there too.

Just left the place with the worst experience ever!!! I walked in with my wife to buy few beers to go and they wouldn’t sell to me because my wife didn’t have her ID with her. So i asked my wife to wait in the car so I’d be able to buy. They refused saying we know you walked in here with under age(which is complete nonsense since she’s 25)

Today I am trying what the Brew is known for Beer! In front of me is what is referred to here as a beer flight. I get to sample 4 different offerings so I chose 1. Rushing Duck 2. Sixpoint Resin 3. Sierra Nevada Beer Camp and 4. Sixpoint Jammer. All are craft beer and they are all unique in their flavor and alcohol content. I’ve chosen to put all these samples away with some Thai Chili Wings and I tell you what! Just a great way to spend a Thursday evening after a hard days work. The service is excellent and the food freshly prepared but the craft beer is the star here… you should try it.

Great cheeseburger, I am not a craft beer person and they have no beer alternatives(Coors light). We were in for lunch and left with num /very cold feet Service was slow it seemed. The seem to have many many craft beers in the bottle and on draft so I expect most craft beer folks would love the nice clean bright place.

Big beer selection, really cute inside too. I got a bag of the dark chocolate raspberry coffee to take home and try. My god. It is so damn good. It has the perfect amount of raspberry taste. Not overwhelming at all. Their breakfast inlets are also good. Definitely has the home made meal feel not ready to pour eggs.

I like to try a new place a few times before submitting my review for consistency. I have to tell you, everytime I have ordered here(about 6 times in the past 2 months), the food, quality and service has exceeded my expectations. I am a local and its great having a fresh face in town serving delicious bar food. The craft beer selection is vast with hard to find names available all the time. Huge PLUS: they are open late!!!

Love that my hometown of Rock Hill now has a coffee(and specialty beer) shop. Yay Rock Hill!

What an absolute gem! Excellent beer selection both on tap for pints or growlers, and by bottles. AND, the menu looks very enticing, and reasonable priced — especially considering they are using Hudson Valley grass-fed beef for their burgers. Next time we are in, that is my first order of business. Kudos to this family for starting something new in this relatively out-of-way little town in Sullivan County!

I had a bacon cheeseburger on an everything bagel, and it was pretty amazing! On the expensive side, yes, but what a great business model, bagels and superb coffees in the morning next to a fine offering of microbrews for when you want something a bit different! This place must rock when the sun goes down. Air conditioned comfort for the summer, and a central fireplace for when the mercury drops. I think we are going to have to check them out later in our trip. P. S. The bagel I had was definitely on par with NYC’s finest! Their motto: «A schmeer with a beer» brilliant!!!

So far I’ve grabbed lunch and breakfast there. Breakfast was a delicious salt bagel with Nova & and a large hot coffee — $ 12 Lunch was a Chicken burger and an ice coffee for $ 9. A side of onion rings was another $ 3 and change. The food is really great. I also tried the three cheese grilled cheese with bacon! Awesome! I didn’t get a beer but by the glass they seemed reasonably priced at $ 4-$ 6 or so. Prices for many things are closer to high-end NYC prices than what most locals in Rock Hill are used to. A make-your-own six pack of beers can run from $ 15 to $ 30 depending on your choices. Remember though these are craft beers which ten to price higher than the average(and gross) domestics like Coors or Bud. The beers off the shelf range from $ 2 each and up — some at $ 5 or higher. There is a wide variety in bottle to take home(warm) and a lot on tap, too. The bar is small though, only about 4 or 5 stools. Some things are way overpriced, such as the growlers for $ 20 or more which you can pick up at the Monticello Beer Store for less, some of the store-made foods like the potato salad I saw for $ 14 for a ½ lb or egg salad for $ 6 a ½ lb. The packaged goods they sell are also way too costly such as $ 5 or more for a chocolate bar or a box of crackers. Granted they are higher end brands and unique things like a peanut butter machine that churns nuts for you… much more interesting than you’d find at a Wal-Mart — and you are supporting local business… but places like the Green Market in Monticello sell similar items for less. The inside looks amazing with ample seating for about 25 people. It would be a great place to grab a lunch and some beers/ciders with friends and relax and bring a board game — or even have coffee and do some work on a laptop. I wish it was a bit larger of a space so they could really get a bar feel in the evenings. I am hoping they do well but I think they need to do some price adjusting first. I look forward to going there again but I already know there are some things I won’t buy.

Imagine my excitement when in the never changing landscape of this particular section of route 17; I see a beacon. I mean, this is a joke right? As someone as coffee obsessed and beer obsessed as myself — to find out that there is a specialty beer and coffee shop opening somewhere I find myself fairly often reminds me of that old Simpsons episode where the hot dog vendor makes it a point to just follow Homer around. I’m happy to say, this is in fact no joke. Ever since I saw the signage go up, I’ve been eyeing this place. I’ve even driven in once or twice to see if they had a sign that would say when they are opening. But alas, no news. Today on my drive up — I see cars in the parking lot. So I pull in immediately, we walk in and they are not yet open… But they’re close. Immediately I can see this is a place I’m going to frequently. The owners were incredibly accommodating and even allowed us to look around, they even offered us a sample of coffee and a cup to go! Seriously, how cool is that. We found out they open on Tuesday the 10th of July. Rock Hill, it looks like you’re in for a treat with this place. They have a huge craft beer bottle selection, growlers, bagels a deli, coffee boxes, and roast their own beans. I saw their first tap line up and I have to say I’m excited to grab a growler next weekend and BBQ some meat from the farmers market across the street. If you’re on Route 17 right now, get off on exit 109 and stop reading while driving. You found the place you need to stop at.
