So far, I have had the Philly cheesesteak(twice) and the shrimp and fries. Both were fantastic and hot. The shrimp were big and seasoned well. There was no need for sauce on the Philly as it was delicious and tender. I eat at this place at least once a week. I wish there was a location in Charlotte.

Interesting take on a Gyro. They use a sweet onion instead of a red onion. It is very good. Not much of a selection, but if you like a good gyro, you can’t go wrong.

I have passed this place several time since moving to Rock Hill. Initially, the dining room was messy and so was the register area when I placed my order. I ordered the gyro with fries. It didn’t take long for the order. The fries were lukewarm and soggy. Thank god for the yogurt sauce in the gyro because the meat was dry but it also lukewarm. I really wanted to like this place and its food. Shame…

I tried the flounder platter for my first time here and I don’t think I would be back. For the price of around 12 dollars it was not worth it. There were three hushpuppies and they were all almost black burnt and the coleslaw was gross. It looked gluey if that is a word. The fries, shrimp, and flounder were pretty good but it felt like there wasn’t much in the platter. Overall I will not be back, it wasn’t worth the price for the quantity and quality of food. I have to say though the staff is friendly.

Meh. Ordered the shrimp po boy and it was okay. Nothing special. This place is pretty expensive for the quality of the food also.

My husband and I just ordered from the drive thru today. We both got the gyro and wing combo. When we got home and started eating, my husband’s gyro had a huge piece of plastic in it and he had to immediately stop eating it. In desperate hunger he decided to try out the wings at least. The wings are just fried and then have sauce poured over them in the container so they weren’t even completely sauced. For the price you’re paying you would think you’d be getting good food but it is far from. Would not recommend to anyone and don’t intend to go back. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Had a gyro and wing combo. Turns out neither were very good. The gyro had a soft pita, but it needed to be grilled. There was only 1 pc of onion on it. On the plus side it did have a lot of meat in it. The wings however were really bad. They had the extra piece of wing that you can’t eat still attached to the two bone portion. Deep fired without and seasoning or breading and a really cheap thin watery sauce that was flavorless. Would not come back.

Ok sandwiches and Sara Lee cheesecakes but it’s not somewhere I would go on the regular.

This is in the former Del Taco building. Interior is identical. Menu is decent but most every combo has«gizzards» and wings. I had the fried fish and fries. Very good! Tartar sauce is just basic stuff. This place loves styrofoam. Everything comes with styrofoam. Dining in? You’ll get a to go styrofoam container. All drinks are in a 16oz styrofoam cups. Ahhh!!! I felt the menu was a tad pricey for what you got. Quality seems to be there and the place was quite busy!

Finally stopped after driving by too many times, although I had to get it to go. Got the gyro combo #4. Was a little bit upset at the price but not with the food. The pita was good(10″ I think) thick and soft. Although obviously not made in house or even made in the last 24 hours. The meat was thin and well cooked. Tomato, onion, and a lite coating of tzaziki sauce on the bottom with a lump plopped on top(I think gravity made it slide to one end as it was standing up in the bag, as you can see in the picture). Good flavor overall, but I would have liked a little bit more tzaziki sauce. The fries were large, thick and well done, just the way I like them, and covered in seasoning salt, tasted like Lawrey’s. Bad part was they were obviously cooked in the same oil as some fish(probably all sides in one vat). Although it was not over bearing today and did not hinder my enjoyment of the fries, I can see it being an issue when the oil is a little more«ripe». only other comments would be to not bother with a drink when taking it out. looks to be one size only, a 16oz. Styrofoam cup, but they do have fitting lids! price was $ 8.99 + $ 0.72 tax. I would have felt better at $ 7.50. next time I may go to McAllister’s(I really dig their pecanberry salad! and it is much healthier) unless I am really craving an gyro(like today).

Very disappointing I ordered fried gizzards and they were horrible. Soggy, no seasoning, very greasy. I had to tell them to please put paper towel to catch the grease. I also ordered hot wings and they tasted like it was already pre friend and they just heated them up. The skin was very tough, like a foot roll up the kids eat. I knew something wasn’t because as soon as I ordered my food, it was ready. The wings itself should only take 7– 10 minutes and the gizzards 5. As soon as traffic dies down I will be going back to reoder my food.

I ate in nicks at St. Andrews, I loved it. They have a delicious Philly cheesesteak. I found out that they opened a new one in Rockhill. Now we don’t have to drive both me and my wife to columbia to eat at nicks , We love nicks.

Disappointing. Five people in our party, and we got five different things. The kid’s chicken tenders got a thumbs up from the five year old. The fried whiting got good reviews. Philly cheesesteak and chicken cheesesteak not great at all. Menu did not specify toppings, and came with mushrooms and mayo. Penn station just one mile away is far and away better. Gyro was so-so. No better than Showmars. Nothing was outstanding, and the workers were still trying to figure out what is going on. Very large menu, which is also frightening. Will probably not go back, except to try fried okra.

Love the new addition to Rock Hill SC. The wait time was well worth the food. I got a philly cheesesteak and fried okra. Much better than Shomars. I will definitely go back. The service was friendly and helpful. They will see me this weekend.

Updated review: My first visit was a bit disappointing because it turns out they don’t know how to make Cuban sandwiches or even have all the right ingredients to make one. I went back a few days later for dinner with my wife and had a much better experience. My wife got lemon pepper wings and I got a chicken gyro. The wings were good and crispy, yet still moist, not dried out. The chicken gyro was very good, too. The fries are also good and they give a fairly generous portion with your combo. I have them 2 stars for the botched«Cuban» sandwich, but after my second visit I’ll raise it to three stars.

Food was pretty good, not as good as Showmars. Price was a little high for Rock Hill. Service was slow for only 2 orders ahead of us. Packaged tartar and ketchup is a letdown. Will try back in a few months after the dust settles. Everything else at this location failed.

Went for dinner tonight with the family. For the price we could have went to Chili’s and been better off. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. They messed up our order but fixed it without complaint. I ordered shrimp and they use Kraft brand tartar sauce which I am not a fan of. Overall the food was ok

6÷6÷15 I have been waiting patiently for Nick’s to open and today was the day. Wife and I were pleased with clean and neat update to Del Taco site. The menu takes a little effort to figure it all out and the cashier was very pleasant and advised us to use the printed menu which she stated had some coupons to save some $$= nice I got the gyro and was politely informed to say heer-o. Wife got the shrimp and scallops. Service and wait time was very good=(made to order). Gyro was tasty and not dry. The flavor was just OK, much like the Shomars version. The order of fries was huge and a little too salty for my taste. The seafood was lightly breaded and vary tasty. We could tell the shrimp and scallops were freshly cooked rather than sitting in a warmer. The coleslaw was the creamy style and good. Pricing was a little more than I expected but fair. Overall, the seafood was the better choice and I will get the shrimp and oysters next time.

6-5-2015 UPDATE: Nick’s on CHERRYROAD in RH opened today at 11AM! I dropped by early BEFORETHEOPENING and spoke briefly to the manager. CORRECTION: I learned that the two Nick’s I mentioned previously are NOLONGER a part of this Nick’s network. The franchise website is under construction to reflect changes. There are two CURRENT locations in Columbia… one at 7355 Two Notch Road and one at 780 St. Andrews. It appear that this«franchise» is in its infancy and two early partner sites I mentioned below are no longer affiliated with this Nick’s network of restaurants. The manager of the RH site mentioned that his family had the Deno’s location at 1611 E. Main Street in Spartanburg, SC, also. This is a SOUTHCAROLINA enterprise in its infancy… I plan to support it as much as possible since I enjoy many of the items on its SOMEWHAT eclectic menu offering a wide variety of seafood, wings, livers, gizzards, pasta, salads, Greek gyros, and even an angus burger. Original Pre-Opening Alert… Nick’s is outfitting the old Del Taco location on Cherry Road(next to Aldi). New signs are up, and there was a food services truck there last week. Locations I mentioned on Broad River, Columbia & the location on N. Rivers Ave, N. Charleston are no longer affiliated with the franchise. Reviews for other Nick’s locations average about 3.5 to 4.5 stars… but some menu items get higher marks. There are several patrons who have rated the first two locations with 5-stars for their experiences there. It seems like«wait time» can be an issue, and long lines are mentioned several times. Perhaps long lines also suggest a number of happy customers who return regularly, but do not post reviews. I am looking forward to going to Nick’s as soon as it opens to try some of the following items that have been declared 4-star &5-star by multiple reviewers… gyros & philly cheesesteaks get high marks from customers(some from PA). Other favorable mentions for livers, wings, crab legs, and shrimp. I have had to include a «star rating» to post this PRE-OPENING review to alert folks that Nick’s is COMINGSOON to Rock Hill. I will update a with a new review(including more stars if warranted) when they have opened… a gyro will be my first order.

The food here is always fresh. I had the Tilapia with black beans & yellow rice. A great seafood dish. The chicken wings are delicious and their Philly Cheese Steaks are awesome. Ask for their Boom Boom sauce. The employees are always nice.

The Gyros here can’t hold a candle to Dino’s down the road. I got about 30.00 worth of assorted food including burgers and other fried food for me and my friends. And one Gyro to go it just wasn’t good food, bland and dull. I like to see any restaurant open on Decker and you will get my business if your good. But I don’t see myself coming back here when I have 6 or 7 better options right down the road.

Nick’s is my lunch time favorite. Living outside of Philadelphia for several years, this is the closest I’ve come to a Philly in SC. The Gyros are the BEST… huge! Seriously, I order an extra pita and split it. Fried green beans, yum! The menu is huge, something for everyone. The staff is friendly, they know our favorite order by heart, and have it ready to go when we go to pick it up! Delicious!
