The worst service I’ve ever had in my life, I actually witnessed other couples walking out for not being acknowledged after waiting to be seated, they seated themselves, and still didn’t get any service. Our story was similar, we had to ask the guy that was mopping to seat us, because no one would come to greet us. Our waitress came to the table and rudely said«Ya’ll ready to order, what ya’ll want to drink?» No name or how are you, or anything of that nature. When I asked her name she said«Just call me ma’am», and laughed. The manager was there while all of this was going on so I guess she has no control over her staff. By far the worst service I’ve ever seen, and I could actually keep writing about the bull crap we seen tonight. May as well bring a bulldozer, and push over the establishment if it’s not going to be ran any better. Truly an awful experience. Oh and thanks for the half of a shake, the cup was mostly whipped cream.

Food is good, customer service is Terrible!!! I used to go here at least once a week with my family and the service used to be great, I’ve gone 3 times in the last month and each time I’ve left angry due to how rude the staff was! I will not be going here anymore and advise anyone else who expects good customer service to stay away from this location!

We sat in the Drive Thru for 25 minutes for milkshakes that had chunks of ice throughout the entire things! Really?! A Milkshake should be smooth & creamy and not have hard pieces of ice in them, am I right.

Son and I went through the drive-thru on Saturday for lunch. Son had the garlic burger. I had the Cajun burger. Excellent taste and quality for both burgers. Fries were not hot and had no salt. Service was great.

Nearly 20 minutes in the drive through so far. They took my order then asked me to pull around. Waited. Then they asked me to repeat my order because he forgot to put it in the register. Still waiting here…

Been sitting in the drive thru line for about 15 minutes with no hope in sight. I can’t just drive off, because I promised my daughter french fries for a good week in school. This is hell. I swear they’re taking one order, making it, and giving it to the customer before they take the next car’s order.

Yum. My husband loves steak and shake. I enjoy it myself. The burger is thin patties but good. I had the chocolate covered strawberry shake soo good! This location has table service. Good place for fast cheap lunch

Steak ‘n’ Shake has become my new favorite fast food restaurant! The prices are so cheap, you can get two meals for the price of one at other fast food establishments. Plus, they treat you like a real restaurant when you dine in by seating you and servers wait on you. I have yet to have a bad experience there and the food is really good. When every meal is less than 4 dollars and it’s good food, you have my attention. Families that have children have to love feeding their families here because it does not put them in the poor house. I know they’re not perfect, but they are what you expect them to be, fast food that is good and relitively quick.

I love Steak n Shake BUT this group of employees is so ridiculously incompetent it’s unbelievable. Our cashier struggled to take our order, took a very long time, tried to give us the wrong order, overcharged us. When we pointed out the mistakes they did the bare minimum to rectify this and gave us overcooked and undercooked burgers respectively and forgot our milkshake. Horrible horrible horrible staff manager included.

Ok… well, where to begin?! This is the second attempt at eating here. My husband and I are from larger cities and have eaten at many, many places in our 50 + years on the is planet and we can say without hesitation that this particular Steak ‘n Shake is by far the WORST we have ever been to. The first time was a night a few months back. My husband was recuperating from radiation treatments and we wanted to treat ourselves to a shake… the staff was more interested in talking and laughing with each other than serving the customers. One staff member even took the time to sweep the aisle and under the tables right next to us as we ate… dust and debris everywhere!!! Very appetizing… cough…cough…cough…Today: we thought we would give it a try again(5/3/2015)…we were there between 11:30 and 12:00 noon… the place was packed of course. Our server was nice enough, but the food… it was brought to us approximately 2 minutes after we ordered!!! 2MINUTES!!! And do you know why!!! Because it was slapped together in that time!!! It looked like slop because that is exactly what it was!!! I ordered the BLT — how hard is that to screw up? Apparently very easy!!! A squirt of mayo, limp lettuce, a sloppy tomato, and who knows what that was that they were trying to pass off as bacon!!! It was hideous and then it was topped off with some cold fries that literally looked as if someone took a handful of fires and threw them on the plate(which I’m sure that’s what they did)…my husband ordered the guacamole burger and what he got was a sloppy piece of meat thrown onto a hard bun, an unmelted piece of cheese with a dab of what looked like stale, week old guacamole!!! The fries were presented in the exact same manner as mine. We just stared at our plates as the waitress walked away very proudly as if she had just handed us filet mignon and braised asparagus!!! We looked at the mess presented before us and said, «Oh, heck no. There is no way we are eating this and much less pay for this!» We waited for our waitress to make her way back around and we explained to her why we were more than a little displeased. She agreed with us and asked if we wanted to send it back and get another… of course we know that always turns out! We told her know that we were sorry, but we were going to leave so we did just that! And we know that our absence from Steak ‘n Shake from here on out will not make a dent, but this restaurant is not thinking of it’s customers at all. I do not know how it stays in business… probably because it’s the only one around here and they are taking their business for granted. We cannot give this place any stars what-so-ever! But you have to give it at least one star to post. Sorry, Steak n’ Shake we will not be back or visit any other of your stores in the Charlotte area!

Spent $ 15.97 on me and my girlfriend, forgot to give me the coke, had to wait for him to come back to the window. Asked for large meals and got small fries. Asked for a large chili mac and received a small little to go container with literally naked noodles. 4.99 for chili mac and these people give me a tiny bowl with just noodles in it !!! Minimum wage cooks are awesome !!! This store has totally gone down hill. I used to love me a Frisco melt !!!

My first time in one of these. The food was just okay. Prices are excellent. Service was a little slow but the waitress was nice. I would go back if I was in the area.

This place is a pretty steady hit or miss. And when they are on their game it’s great, when they are off it obviously isn’t, but they always make it up and apologize. Being that they’re 24 hour and have happy hours and coupons almost every two weeks makes them a great late night bargain in Rock Hill. But some nights they are clearly understaffed, so have patience and the wait staff will be your new best friends!

This place is open 24⁄7. All shakes and drinks are ½ off for happy hours on weekdays from 2−4pm AND2−4am. Prices are average and they offer a huge variety of different flavored milk shakes for about 3.50ish each. From snickers flavored to banana strawberry, to milkshakes split in two different flavors. I got the mint cookies n cream and it was great! Lots of flavor and cookie chunks and topped with whipped cream, Oreo like cookies & a cherry. My bf got the chocolate fudge brownie milk shake. topped with brownie chunks. whipped cream & a cherry. It was also delicious, but thicker than my milk shake & not as chocolatey as I’d like & expect. Extremely friendly and polite service too and he happened to be from NJ too — born and raised in a town next to my town. We bonded and chatted for a bit — it was really nice.

Best price/value ratio for any of the 24hour food places in the area. Food tastes better than most of the fast food places and costs about the same or less. Plus you get to sit down in a full-service environment to enjoy it. Highly recommended for late night snacking or a cheap place to go with a couple of friends.

Decent motor diner style restaurant with slow fast food. Restaurant wasn’t busy but we still waited a long time for food. Family member ordered a supposedly gluten free item, the waitress assured us it was cooked on a separate griddle and she even went back to check. Family member still had a bad allergic reaction. Gluten free fad is different from a true allergy. Good service, tasty shakes, bad kitchen.

Steak N Shake has a nice angle with its 50’s style diner motif. The inside is clean and vibrant and practically begs you to buy a milkshake. This is a great place to take your kids and let them be themselves. The upbeat atmosphere encourages kids to enjoy themselves and caters to them by providing old-school paper hats, a menu to color on, and a piece of cardboard that folds into a car. However, the gumball and claw machines in the entryway may be hard to hustle your kids past. The food here is typical of burger diners. The burgers and melt sandwiches are greasy and good. The fries are thin and crispy and salted well. The milkshakes? Very nice! The hustle and bustle of the place can make for a hit or miss experience regarding the expedience of your visit, but it’s usually pretty quick. The prices are also quite fair. I took my two children and we all had a meal and shared a milkshake for a $ 20 bill. Not bad considering the tip was over 30%. I have gone back to Steak N Shake on multiple occasions. Sometimes you just crave a steak burger and a milkshake, and this is pretty good for a chain restaurant. Try: The Frisco Melt and a milkshake Avoid: Counting the calories in your head while eating the Frisco Melt and drinking the milkshake
