Jamesons Pub

We visited Jamesons Pub in Rockaway Park tonight. Great idea because it was 2 for 1 night off the pub menu!!! We decided to have the Jameson burgers because they sounded so good. Burgers were topped with pepper jack cheese, red cherry peppers, avocado & chipolte mayo. Both burgers were slightly overcooked but were still large & flavorful & came with steak fries. The featured drinks of the night were $ 5 cosmos & chocolate martinis… can’t argue with that. The chocolate martini was excellent! The cosmo just ok. The post Sandy renovation was well done. Several large television surround the inside bar. Service was friendly but slow, however the place was crowded. The outside space is now nicely enclosed with space heaters for warmth. Tonight the place was nicely decorated for Halloween. All in all a tasty & economical meal!

Wow, 2-​for-​1 burger deal on Wed. can’t be beat! Nice décor, pleasant surroundings on a charming street near the beach.
Burgers were mediocre (asked for medium-​rare for both, got medium-​well), and unexceptional. The server seemed perturbed to actually have to wait on patrons, between checking their Facebook updates, and barely cracked a smile or made us feel welcome. The fries were good.
Still, can’t beat a great deal near the beach and the company was good!

The interior was done really well after the storm, and it’s on 129^th, so the pompous, dirty hipsters are no where to be found thankfully. That’s about where the good ends. The chefs do not wear gloves, and you can watch them cross contaminate your food through the window, it’s absolutely disgusting, they also don’t take credit card, even though they did before they added the ATM machine a few weeks ago, pretty scummy move.

Our experience was the opposite of what I have seen written. We had a barely passable meal that was topped off by a bunch of underage kids smoking weed as if it was cigarettes at the table across from us. As appalling as that was things were compounded by the homeless man who strolled into the garden to beg for money. When we complained to the manager he actually had the audacity to defend all the underage drinkers and pot smokers by claiminig they were smoking rolled cigarettes (filled with weed)!. Clearly this behaviwor is sanctioned by management which is sad
because you can see the owner invested a lot of money to rehab the place after Sandy.

Excellent neighborhood pub! Best burgers around and great filet on toast. The staff is friendly and efficient and it’s fun!

My friends’ band played the other night at Jamesons. We happened to already be at the beach all day so this was an extra special treat to hear great live music from serious homeslices AND chill out with some beers and decent eats. When it comes to pub fare I have to have chicken fingers — and they were pretty good. I asked for 3 sauces (buffalo, honey mustard, and bbq) and out waitress didn’t bat an eye, sweet gal.
There were a few families and a sports team eating outdoors when we arrived, nice chill vibe. When the sun started to go down waiters lit a bunch of lanterns, tiki torches, and there were some white Christmas lights — cute atmosphere. The sound system sounded surprisingly awesome for only one speaker — they had a nice little set up and stage area.
I didn’t spend much time inside other than to use to the lou, but everyone seemed like they were having a good time. Kinda tacky décor, but outside cocktails in the summer — can’t beat it. We played a rousing round of dice, mixed crowd, good times. If I had one suggestion it would be to get some music going outside — would have been a great atmosphere enhancement before the band began or even during meals/​drinks.

Good pub on the busy street of 129^th in Belle Harbor. They have a fully stocked bar, a great jukebox and a grill for some pub grub. I love the burgers… in the summer on Tuesdays they have a 2 for 1 burger special. Also in the summer they have an outside dining area to the side of the location. Check it out on your way to a day at the beach.
