A simple review about their service as I never received any and therefore can’t review their coffee. Stood yesterday for about 5 minutes as the four women behind the counter served drinks, chatted and cleaned. Asked if I could order and was pointed around to the other side. Went and waited some more as they literally looked at me then the other way. Too many cooks in the kitchen and none wanting to work? The bodega across the street served me up a simple and effective iced coffee after I wasted ten minutes here. I was a server in high school and college and get it when you are swamped but this was just rudeness.

This place is AMAZINGOMG. Every time I go visit my boyfriend’s mother in Rockaway, I really look forward coming to this coffee shop. The workers are REALLY friendly. The drinks are amazing, I think the best in New York, wish they would open up in Bushwick. I love the interior design and the ceiling is unlike any other haha.

Their acaí bowl = life. The coffee is amazing and their smoothies are tasty. The service can be a little slow and spotty but that’s my only gripe. Otherwise the ambience is perfect for a local coffee joint. Local art is featured, big windows and cushy seating.

A nice little coffee shop near the beach. Nothing crazy but they have fresh juices and I ate a pretty good quiche. Not a bad place to chill and work near the beach for a few hours.

Stopped by on a weekday morning to catch up on some work. Wound up being a great place to chill and get my thoughts in order to do a creative project. They played 80’s new wave hits throughout the morning — *major plus* — served great coffee and free wifi. A block away from the ocean. Would hit this place up again for sure.

Nice spot to chill and read the paper. I get protein shakes here. Its worth the price. Its nice to have a juice bar I can go to thats just 5 minutes away. They have free wifi. They have a restroom. They have acai, and chia bowls. Different juices, smoothies, and shakes. Get your health on or your coffee on!

All I can say is the frappé here is better than Starbucks. My fave is the cookies and cream with 2 shots of espresso. With the combination of the décor and music it’s a really chill spot you don’t really see in Rockaway. Only part that sucks is that they close type early.

I have never seen a coffee joint in Rockaway that actually gets crowded on weekends until here and now. That should tell you everything you need to know. Thanks for doing it right, Rockaway Roasters! Wish you would expand to 129th and 116th Streets. And don’t ever get rid of your couch! So perfect.

I’d give this place a 0 if I could. Nastiest place in all of Rockaway. Got a cup of coffee at 3:50 pm on a Saturday. First thing upon ordering was told«after I give you this cup of coffee, you have to leave.» I laughed, but the girl didnt. I asked why, she said«because we close at 4.» I got the coffee and it was awful. I said«this isn’t fresh or hot.» The girl replied, «well, we’re closing so of course it isn’t.» If I’m paying in excess of Starbucks prices, my coffee should be fresh and hot. I’d rather go to a coffee stand under the A train at 2:30am then ever come here again.

Rockaway Roasters is the final destination of my 7 miles-plus beach trek starting from Fort Tilden. Here, I refresh myself with a shot of espresso, upload my photos onto Instagram, read, and write. The ambience is pleasing: the walls are graced by sea-inspired artworks; traces of surf culture are everywhere(for this Southern California-raised girl – yay!); there are magazines to absentmindedly flip through; the music selection is great(I especially like it when they play Erykah Badu); the bathroom is exceptionally clean; clientele is diverse; and best of all, every single time I’ve been, I have found seating! It is true that the prices are fit for Manhattan, but the ladies who work behind the counter make up for it. They see me and my faux-furry hood roll in through the door, and they start pulling my espresso. So cute. I also sometimes try the pastries and desserts. Once, I got a peanut butter and brownie cupcake that sounded mouthwatering in theory but was hard as a rock in reality! If they can get that to be chewier, softer, and seperable from the cupcake paper(I ended up eating a good amount of it), that would be amazing. I have no idea what this place is like during the summer as I tend to stay west of 116th during that time, but for right now, I am happy to be enveloped in RR’s warm, cozy arms.

Only roaster in the Rockaways so they’ve got the market cornered there. Coffee was pretty good, enjoyed an americano, a nitro and a couple of drips. They’re a bit pricey but not terrible when comparing to other coffee shops in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Have a range of smoothies, juices, chia bowls and other healthy food options. But also your standard donuts and pastries. If you’re looking for a strong cup of coffee in the Rockaways, this is your place. Also, get the chia bowl!

The best coffee i ever had! The Stumptown Coffee is really great, you can get it in different stores in NYC. The Coffee Roasters are located really close to the beach. Go there and get an iced coffee and enjoy it at the beach!

Awesome coffee shop that goes beyond caffeine with organic smoothies, protein shakes, and fresh organic juices with wheatgrass. Must try if your in the area.

The Rockaways are my second home in the summer, so I’m glad to see a cool roaster opened up in the ‘hood. I had a banana peanut butter smoothie, which went down nice and easy, paired with some cold brew that was super smooth. But be warned: It’s not cheap! I spent around $ 13 on the aforementioned. Manhattan prices for the weekend crowds for sure. It’d be a good spot to chase away a weekend hangover, or fuel up after some time in the waves. And if you’re not into the beach, it’s nice and dark in here for reading or computer time.

I was thrilled to see such a clean coffee spot in Rockaway. The vibe is generally laid back, but the owner might want to play some tunes to cover the buzzing sound of one of the coolers. If you are not a local the staff knows, don’t expect the friendly service described by others. In fact, anticipate no smile, eye rolls, and being tortured by listening to the staff discuss their personal opinions regarding patrons’ drink orders(after they have left, of course). So, the coffee is good, location is good – staff and ambience need improving.

I’m a freelancer who works remotely much of the time and am so so happy that Rockaway has somewhere like this now for me to patronize in exchange for a workspace that is not my home :) The coffee is great(although damn the coldbrew is expensive!), the juice delicious, and I ate a glorious chocolate cookie the other day. The staff is quite lovely as well. Two main suggestions: 1) Better music selection. Of course, this is subjective, but they seem to only play commercial radio and would be great if they could branch out beyond that world. At the very least, a paid subscription to a radio service so that customers don’t have to listen to long stretches of commercials. 2) Once the weather gets nicer, an open door! There is off-gassing from the new paint/varnish that was used, and the place needs to air out a bit.

This is an update from my last post. I came in today to see if the last mishap was just fluke. I have to say, the service was good and my iced coffee was good too. The place is very unique and funky. I think this area needs more businesses like this.
