This place is a classic example of «you get what you pay for» I do not reccomend

Excellent food quality. Took customers here. Fast service. Very good service and with flair. Menu was great. Prices are great. Lunch was under $ 30 for 2 of us. Very clean Parking can be a challenge.

My wife and I went to Arnie’s quite often years ago. They were a little high priced but the outstanding food quality, portions and service made it worth it. Especially the torts! We went there last night and everything had changed. The service was slow, the meal was missing items, she never offered to refill our drinks and I had to flag down another waitress just to get our check. The food wasn’t as good either. A «loaded» baked potato used to have a large potato, lots of cheese, bacon pieces, green onion, etc. What they serve now is a small to medium potato with a small pinch of shredded cheese and literally a few bacon bits thrown on top. As much as I used to love their Scandinavian Torts, I just couldn’t bring myself to ordering one. I had enough disappointment for the night and I didn’t want to take a chance on another disappointment.

This place has a secret ingredient… my wife and I call it «No Taste». Lots of places use«No Taste», and this place uses it liberally. Nothing is really«bad» here, but the food is like nursing home cafeteria food(which seems to lure in their target demographic). You can keep it down, and you know you ate something, and you don’t need to eat again for awhile… but that’s about as good as it gets. The service is of similar caliber to the food. Right between«acceptable» and«marginal». It’s a shame because the building has a great location, and it is a neat historic building. I’m also a little put-off because(to the best of my knowledge) Arnie’s seems to put a big helping of absolutely nothing back into the community. They don’t participate in festivals, and I never hear of them doing any charity work in the community… at all. Nothing. Save your money and go to the Corner Bar. The food is a bit better, the atmosphere much livelier, and they are actual contributors to the community.

Was here for a catered dinner upstairs — we had one server for about 24 people and 3 food options. To be honest it felt like something they don’t deal with very often. When we needed to add like 2 seats it seemed to confuse them. Their basic salad was decent. Fruit in my salad is always a win for me. I had the filet, it was decent. Definitely needed some A1 to go with it though. The cupcakes were tasty! :)

I will definitly miss this place now that the family vacation home has been sold. They have great soups like the canadian cheese soup and french onion soup. The sandwiches were great with the Cuban being my favorite. All the bread is homemade and are excellent. You get a free cupcake with your meal which I have to say is the best tasting cupcake Ive ever had. There are 5 or 6 different kinds, but I always get the triple chocolate. We always get some cupcakes to go when we leave. We will definitly miss this place.

Arnies has a complete menu, but all six of us ordered the Half Soup — Half Sandwich Special for $ 8.99 You can choose from 4 – 6 soups and 8– 10 sandwiches as Pannini or Foccia or you can have a Gourmet Salad & Sandwich for $ 8.99 they listed several salads, & i chose the Bacon & Spinach Salad with Hot bacon Dressing! A+ + Arnies always provides a «FREECUPCAKE» with every $ 8.99 special Dana was A+ as our server The Food was A+ The Red Velvet Cupcake with cream cheese frosting was A+

Excellent food, service, and view! We sat right along the river with an excellent view of the dam. The restaurant has a calm and homey feel with collectibles covering the walls. The food is always outstanding! The portions are big(sometimes too big!) and you get a free cupcake! The cakes and desserts are delicious and unbeatable. The service is excellent. **edited to correct another review I read on here, Arnies does participate in charity work. I know for a fact that they always donate baked goods to soup kitchens in Grand Rapids! Not that charity work should have anything to do with a restaurant?
