We just visited this in about two months ago, our second visit in two years. Every time it has been fantastic. Very warm and welcoming host family, fantastic food, and on top of it all they are pet friendly with beautiful accommodations. These folks really go out of their way to make you feel at home, 24 hour day coffee available, homemade cookies available also throughout that time, and a large communal space on the first floor with tons of great coffee table books and other resources on the Rockland area. And they are about a five minute walk from the downtown, can’t beat it.

Our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The jacuzzi was spectacular!!! But we must have encountered the owner, Ed, at a particularly bad time, for he seemed quite cool toward us, to the point that I was a bit uncomfortable. Of course, it didn’t help that in the morning, I spilled a full cup of coffee on his living room floor, and in the process of cleaning it up, knocked a plant over and broke the pot it was in. Sigh. After that it was a slippery downward slope that culminated in «hard as rock» fried eggs that had been ordered as «over easy».

Such a great inn! And I’m not really an «inn person.» I like hotels. But for a romantic trip, this was fantastic. We checked in with the owner Ed, who was very nice, and gave us a tour. There’s a comfortable common living room and an expansive dining room with 24 hour free coffee, tea and water. Upstairs is another water machine and ice. Our room(8+9) is a suite. A soft king bed took one room with a classy living room and 32″ flat screen tv in the other. A large bathroom and whirlpool tub(which would be a squeeze for two adults) is attached to the living room. The breakfast menu(from 8 – 9 am and included with the room price) looked delicious. Unfortunately after some cocktails the night before we slept through it. We ate down the street, but Ed was nice enough to offer us scones when we checked out. They rivaled any Portland bakery. The prices were very reasonable for the area and while it may have less frills than some of the other inns(per Ed… I thought there were many great frills) this was the perfect inn for our stay.

We loved our stay here! The Granite Inn is located right on the harbor and a very short walk to the downtown area. Super easy to find. The owner(Ed) is very nice and informative but also leaves you to do your own thing. The rooms are the perfect size with great beds that had me snoozing the second my head hit the pillow. The bathroom is a nice size for a B&B and the shower had wall mounted containers with great shampoo’s, conditioners, and body washes(although they weren’t labled) For breakfast. oh, man… Ed is a chef and you can tell he loves cooking. Quiches, oatmeal pancakes, fritatta’s and great coffee(from Rock City Roasters. whoo hoo!) My wife loved the lobster quiche and Im was a big fan of the fritata’s and oatmeal pancakes. Breakfast is served between 8 – 9 but he does put out fresh coffee at 7 a.m. which I really appreciated. There is a kurig and teas available 24 hours if you want. I loved everything about this B&B I shall return.

This was a cute bed and breakfast. No frills, great location! The breakfast is amazing! Probably one of the more affordable places to stay in the area! I would return!

Great experience. Great location downtown, nice owners, beautiful building decorated with mid-century furniture and quality art. Lots of local magazines and books to peruse. It was so pleasant sitting on the front porch with a cup of coffee after an amazing breakfast of poached eggs with asparagus and prosciutto, strawberry stuffed french toast, sausage, fresh fruit. YUM! Will definitely be back.

Absolutely wonderful! The rooms were spacious, clean, and beautiful. The owners were so friendly and offered a lot of suggestions/advice about the area. Breakfast… I wish I could eat there every morning! Asparagus and goat cheese frittata, blueberry Johnny cakes, lemon scones, fresh fruit, coffee, and fresh squeezed orange juice. Everything was so yummy! We weren’t hungry again til dinner! They also have a keurig machine and water coolers available all the time. The price was affordable and the stay enjoyable, I highly recommend a stay here!

This place was pretty great. The owners are a low key and friendly couple who made us feel very welcome. The way the place is decorated is really beautiful and unique as well with an impressive succulent plant collection in the front room and lots of mid century modern furniture and dramatic but homey lighting. The breakfast was a really delicious and plentiful buffet that included a lobster baked egg pastry thing(amaze), a yummy homemade muffin, and some fruit and other things. Our room was on the small side but cozy and nice-feeling and the jacuzzi bath was definitely a big plus. Also definitely within walking distance to the«downtown» area.

Lovely little Inn on Main Street in downtown Rockland. We stayed in room #7. It was nice, clean, modern. All I need in a hotel room. We didn’t get to try the homemade breakfast, but it looked and smelled fantastic
