Staff are super hard working and friendly. The drinks are huge which I love and some of the food is amazing to eat. I’ve had a couple bland dishes but I’m not expecting it to be a full blown restaurant at a movie theater. I love the experience and atmosphere. Very clean and unique with a touch of fancy.

Will come back. Good food, but my husband ordered a double shot whisky and cranberry, it was all cranberry. But we will still go back, we’ll just order at the bar.

Took my daughter and mother here last night for the 9pm showing of Kung Fu Panda 3. My daughter had been before and this was the place she picked to celebrate her recent scholastic achievements. I’d never been and wanted to check it out so we went. I read many reviews about the service and food quality not being so hot so I warned my mom to just lower the expectations and just go with it. I purchased tickets online through fandango and picked my seating earlier in the day. Arrived about 8:20pm because I was unsure of any lines or the ordering process. To my surprise there were only 2 people ahead of me. It took seconds to get my ticket and walk in. When you pass the front desk there’s a pretty nice bar/seating area. The theater wasn’t open yet so we sat and relaxed for a few and browsed the menu. They were all pretty sticky. Could use a wipe down at some point. Was told someone would come around and announce the theater was open. Never saw that person but around 8:45pm I saw other family’s walking in so we followed. We all ordered drinks. Mom and daughter ordered burgers(mom also added the tempura green beans) and after reading reviews I went with a safe choice, Italian sausage pizza. My daughter(remember she’d been before) says«I hope you’re not starving because the food takes forever.» I laugh because I’m already expecting this. I go to was my hands and the drinks are there before I get back. I’m actually surprised. Then all of the food comes about 10 minutes after. We had everything before the movie started and orders were all correct. My daughter even ordered no onions and they had that covered.lol. No the food was average at best. Both burgers extremely dry. Mom couldn’t even finish her burger because it was so bad. She raved about the green beans. I tried a fry from my daughters tray and they were actually pretty decent. The pizza was maybe skating rink quality but it was fresh so I was ok with that. All in all like many others I love the concept. The service was actually better than expected. The food was subpar for the prices but the movie is in a very comfortable setting and really good quality. It helped that I went in with low expectations but enjoyed it overall.

I have mixed feeling about this place. I was really grossed out and washed my hands several times. I really do think that this place could be amazing with a little more TLC. The negative: The seats where you actually sit seemed clean. However, the sides of the arm rest were not clean. Don’t accidentally drop something between the seat and armrest, there is old food and crumbs. Same around the post connecting the table and the drink holder where filthy with old food and crumbs. A vacuum and attachment with a good wipe down is a must in this type of environment. The bathrooms looked clean and VERY bright until you went into the stalls, half the toilets did not flush and some were missing the manual flush button. The Mens bathroom trash was over filled, two sinks didn’t work and soap dispenser was clogged.(Per my fiancé). We had a hard time placing our order, possibly because my fiancés button did not work. The light came on, but I am giving the benefit of the doubt. Our order took a while to get, as people finished their meal around us, maybe because we ordered a lot. Not sure. I know the above can and should be fixed. The Positive: The food! It was good and warm. We ordered a lot because my fiancé and daughter eat like lumber jacks! The only issue was the server mixed up the burgers(veg and meat) and gave my vegetarian daughter my fiancés burger. The menu looked great, could use a better way to keep the menus clean. The service was good, attentive, and very polite. Our meal was great– Beer was cold(New Castle) Ordered pretzel bites with both sauces Potato skins BBQ bacon burger Mushroom and Swiss black bean burger Margarita flat-bread pizza The screen, sound, and lighting were great. We went to see The 5th Wave. I will give it another try and hope It is cleaner than the last time. I have never sat down to eat and felt the need to wash my hands twice before eating, especially in a theater.

I had the lettuce wraps and I COULDNOT tell what kind of seafood was in it. Now THAT’S not a baaad thing its just a thing. It wasnt great but I wouldnt order it again. I then ordered the Mahi Mahi… HUGEMISTAKE. ITWASWORSETHANHORRIBLE.

I am not going to write a Review I am going to tell a Story: The love of my life was looking forward to going to see star wars. So she bought us tickets ahead of time so that we could get good seats and see it at movie studio grill. We got there and everything was fine. We got the 2 for 25. She wanted cheese and pretzel bites. We also ordered the burgers. The Pretzels came. To my surprise the cheese was cold at best but it was like putting a pretzel in greek yogurt. I beeped for help to come back. I asked could we get some warmer cheese. Well they did bring back the warmer cheese. When I looked at he cheese it looked funny. I took my finger and pushed it the cheese move and bounced back at me like a jello salad that your grandma made in the 70’s. It was like hard to break the seal. Once in the cheese was better but still luke warm. Once I put it in it was truly salty. Once our burger and fries came they were truly salty. The moral of the story is if you like fake cheese, salt this place is for you. I will stick to going to dinner some where else and going to a regular movies. I gave this place 2 chances, but its not worth the price youu pay for salt when I can go down the road and get in and out or something a little better for my body at half the price. Alrigth I will admit the sound is good watching the movies.

SMG is a nifty idea. The food and drinks are pretty good. I ordered the veggie flatbread pizza with no cheese. It had all kinds of fresh veggies and a mildly spicy sauce. They also have a black bean burger which they were out of so I didn’t get to try. The strawberry mojito was good but I’m guessing they only use 1oz of liquor per drink because I had 2 with no effect. It is pretty nice having someone bring your food and drink to you though… A big complaint I have is that there are only 8 stalls in the women’s bathroom. If you have to go, plan on waiting in line.

It was our first time coming here after hearing of this place from several of our friends. Tonight we had the opportunity to catch Star Wars in the 138 seat theatre. Parking was plentiful as the theatre is in a huge lot off to the side of the shopping center. And a clean brand new building awaits you with a blue tile water fountain in front. When you get into the theatre, you will be seated in oversized cushion backed chairs, with a side tray for your food items and a center console armrest which also serves as a cup holder. You really get to stretch out and the slope of the theatre is such that no one is blocking your view. While it appears that the chairs might lounge back, that didn’t appear to be the case, which means don’t pick seats up in front of the theatre! When the movie started, the screen was bright and crisp, and the sound system was awesome. Really had chair shaking audio and crisp clean sound. Food was served by pressing the red button on your tray table, and ushered in the server who was able to assist with the menu items. We ordered the California burger and the Flatbread steak pizza. Although we didn’t know what to expect, it was on the level of a BJ’s for food quality. It was really better than we expected and very tasty. Large burger with an ample side of sweet potato fries, and the wife’s flatbread pizza had lots of steak, cheese, onion and peppers. I washed it down with a beer and the wife had a soda. This was the first time we got to have an alcoholic beverage in the theatre legally. Operation really seemed to be running very smoothly and they seemed to have an army of servers to assist in the theatre. If you are already planning on doing dinner and a movie, why not just combine the two and check out Studio Movie Grill. We had a great time!

I defy anyone to find an establishment(automobiles notwithstanding) where it is socially acceptable to conspicuously enjoy Syrah with buttered popcorn and chat spiritedly for the 30-minute block of trailers. The premise here trumps the execution, but only on a few fronts: 1. The menu just doesn’t lend itself to a pitch-black dining environment. As a means to accommodate the consumption of fussy menu items with nearsight veritably limited… 2. …Wall sconces remain lit throughout the movie, which is incredibly distracting. I dare suggest a utensil-free menu that one could handily finish off in a dark room. 2. The restrooms are an olfactory nightmare. Still, I rather enjoyed it here. It could become a date night ritual, but we are on the heels of Oscar season so talk to me afterward.

I honestly thought that having servers walk in and out of the movie theatre to deliver food and drinks would be more distracting than it was. I really didn’t pay much attention to them and was able to concentrate on the movie. We were seeing a mediocre comedy with another couple and this place was in the middle so we decided to give it s try. The theatre is well kept. Clean and inviting. The food was aright, better than a traditional theatre’s food with a much larger selection. The price is surprisingly reasonable considering it’s a movie theatre. You still pay an arm and a leg for pop corn and soda but that’s to be expected. I like that their are assigned seats so you don’t have to show up hours before a good show to get decent seats. Additionally, the ticket prices are about the same as any other theatre so why not go here? I mean, they have margaritas!!! Overall this place exceeded my expectations. Enjoyed myself and will gladly return!

Very similar to the sister theater in Simi Valley except for some odd reason they have NO waiter service in their resturant. They want you to queue up at the bar and order yourself; this is a very odd decision, but probably has to do with chaos associated with the self seating theme here. This unfortunately gives it a FOODCOURT feel to the place. Theaters inside are nice with plush, large, and comfortable seats. Waiters come take your order when you press a button at your seat. They then deliver your food directly to you; nice. So far so good will update more after the movie.

Well its been about a year since my last review and the improvements I had hoped for are just not there. As one person put it so perfectly, I have a struggle with this place. I want to give it more stars but I just can’t. Service again is inconsistent. I have been here about 3 other times since my review and they mildly improved but this night was terrible. Came to watch Star Wars this weekend. Busier than normal of course but still no direction for people walking in. Had I not been here before, I would still be lost. We come 30 minutes before showtime and was not seated until 15 mins before. For this movie and for a packed theater, I find this unacceptable because that just means the likelihood of running major food service during the movie was very high. So I chose the last row on the bottom of first section behind the counter seats because I wanted an open walkway in front of us. Well soon my view of the movie screen was greatly obstructed because an obese woman sitting on a scooter who would be unable to sit in a regular seat sat a head and half above everybody else at the counter. I tried to be sympathetic but I just couldn’t see past it, literally, so I asked a server if they could do anything. He looks and says, «oh sorry we can’t but I can let my manager know.» Surprisingly about five minutes later, a manager comes and takes a look. He says, «its not bad but it is enough. I can move you to different seats.» Somehow there were seats open in top middle row which was fine but now through all that I have missed the beginning of the movie. There is alternate handicap seating in just about all the theaters there that could have better accommodated the height and they should not have allowed her to sit at the counter that way. Not only was she in my way, but also obstructed about 4 – 5 patrons behind her and the wait staff could not use the end of the counter to serve. Had they not moved us, I would have walked out demanding a refund. Anyway since that is an isolated incident, my most major gripe was the service, lack of communication, and lack of care from the servers. Our orders were taken within minutes of sitting down and I thought great! I never saw that server again the rest of the night. Other people did the rest. Our cold popcorn came first. YUCK. It is usually warm but this time it was stone cold and the butter tasted like margarine. We barely ate it. Food came quickly. They dropped my husbands drink off but not mine. I asked where’s mine? they said its coming. I wait and wait. I ask again. Service says, «its coming.» I am now half way through my meal and cannot eat anymore without a drink so it is now cold. I ask again. She says its coming and starts walking away. I finally said, «This is my THIRD time asking. It is obviously not coming!!» I think she got the hint and got it herself but even then it took awhile. 20 mins has passed. Then my husband needed a refill. Same thing. Waited 30 mins. Asked 3 times. Guy on the third round says, «you mean you still haven’t gotten it???» Suffice to say, tip was small. I get you are busy but please don’t blow smoke by telling me its coming when you really don’t know. Wait staff should also have addressed woman in the scooter to management prior to my complaint as she was in their way too. They need an overhaul in customer service training because I get the feeling that the wait staff really could care less and unlike most theater jobs, you can earn tips! If they could get consistency that In and Out Burger gets with their folks, I wouldn’t feel so bad and buying myself $ 150 in SMG gift cards this past month. I give em’ another year, but this left such a bad taste in my mouth that it ruined my Star Wars experience.

First experience was pretty darn good. Considering it was to watch Star Wars. ;) we were nervous with the food ordering and people movement that we would not enjoy the movie, but it really wasn’t a distraction at all. The servers do a great job of explaining how it all works(if u ask and tell them it’s your first time) and oddly enough the red call button at your seat, really does work. We pushed it twice and both times they were attentive. I’m giving this place a 4. The food was ok to good. Nothing spectacular. I think some menu changes or additions will make this place definitely a 5. Be prepared to pay $$. We had: 2 for $ 25 meal: coconut chicken and burger(both with fries), a Sprite order, a kids pizza order with milk and a $ 15 Star Wars collector popcorn bucket= $ 60. We probably could have done without the popcorn, but we had to get the collector tin bucket. Service is good and the theater is new and clean. We’ll be back for sure!

We came to check this place out! Great concept. I used to go to one in Olathe Kansas.(It’s pretty much the same) We noticed that we could go online and order our movie, pay for it, and pick our seating!(The system shows a chart of what’s taken and what’s available!) This part is AWESOME so you can show up on time and still have GREAT seats! No more of that ONE person saving 10 seats for friends and trying to figure which spot is the the better seat! Lol. The food was GREAT! No more of that old fashioned days of being starving and having to scarf down that over cooked hot dog! We had the order 2 meals and one shared appetizer for $ 25. We both enjoyed the spinach dip and chips. Funny. We both ordered the chicken fingers. The Thai coconut chicken fingers with spicy chili sauce. Great flavor but not spicy. It’s great to enjoy a glass of wine, too. We came to watch the new James Bond movie. We chose a Monday early to avoid a crowd and enjoy our movie. Everything was GREAT for us! Only one complaint! The elderly gentleman who sat a seat over from us ate his dinner and passed out! He was snoring soooooo LOUD that everyone looked over! The kids working just walked by him. Maybe a little training on sleeping beauties! Overall: Great concept. Better foods offered. Very well kept up. Clean!!! We would come back…

Let the games begin!!! First time here. In essence(someone took the idea from home, of vegging out in front of your«Huge,» flat screen), in your recliner and marketed it as a Movie Theater. Great idea! Tried to get in these pics, but no luck! :( Either way, Loved it !! Had Coconut shrimp with Rum & Coke. Such a great way to spend with friends and family. My only issue; The Seating/Chairs. Yes, I know, they’re nice leather seats, with a swivel tray; but, you can’t adjust or recline! Ughhhh I couldn’t enjoy the 2 ½ hour long Hunger Games movie. Now, my back is killing me. :( Next time bring a small pillow for your lower back. Happy Viewing!

Sadly, In the past year since opening, this place has really gone downhill. We have come here twice in the past month & have realized both times that the carpets and seats are QUITEDIRTY! Food stains all over the carpet, crumbs in the seat crevices and gross cup holders. On Sunday we were here and my cup holder looked to have wet, slimy mold in it. I really wish that management would enforce cleanliness. After the movie, i used the restroom. There are 9 stalls &5 of them had signs saying«out of order». Another major complaint that I have is one of the commercials that is ALWAYS played from Day 1 while we are waiting for our movie to come on is a dental implant commercial. This shows a mans decaying mouth before and after his implants. Usually we see this while we are waiting for our food, but it has also come on after our food has arrived. WHOWANTSTOSEETHISIN A RESTAURANT?! Certainly NOT me. Commercials really should be thought out since this is an entertainment establishment. We do still love that we can pick our seats and we still love the big comfy seats. We have faith that this can still be a wonderful place to come to… but C’mon SMG, pull it together!

Finally made it out here and LOVEIT! we went to a 10:30pm showing with lots of seats open to choose from and I think the back seats are the best. We started with drinks like the Pineapple Crush(adult beverage) and their meal for 2 at $ 25 add $ 5more for dessert. Seats were comfortable and service quick and great when you push that service button on your tray. Our food was brought up and plated up nice, coconut chicken tenders EXCELLENT I give it the thumbs up. service throughout the movie with water and drink refills it did not interrupt our movie at all. Servers were great, bill a little high cause my family kept on ordering from the menu during the movie LOL Certainly go and check it out

The SO and I went here the other night to see one of their family films — Harry Potter! The tickets were only $ 3, so no complaints there. I would recommend to others checking out their calendar ahead of time to see what movies are coming up. The older movies definitely fill up fast. We got there a little bit early; right when the theater opened up. We were able to sit down at our assigned seats and order before the movie got started. That was nice, so we didn’t have to speak quietly once the movie started. I ordered the chicken salad and the SO ordered a veggie burger. My salad was pretty spot on and the veggie burger was OK. The experience of eating during a movie was pretty fun. I wish they had little lights though so you could actually see what you’re eating. It’s completely dark in there. The staff is A+ and very friendly. The theater is also brand new. I would recommend to anyone in the area looking for a fun dining/movie experience.

The Husband and I came to Studio Movie Grill for the first time a few weeks ago to see Jurassic World. What fully cemented our decision to try Studio Movie Grill above other places is that the movie had been out awhile so they had a $ 5 ticket coupon code online so we were both able to go for $ 10. Yay! I have seen these specials a few times so make sure to check around before paying for your tickets. I liked how I could reserve my seat online before getting to the theater so I didn’t have to arrive at an hour before just to get a good seat. I also liked that if I decided not to go after purchasing my ticket, that they would refund me up to an hour before showtime. The theater is located right off the freeway so it’s easy to get to, and parking is easy to find though you may have to park a medium sized walk from the theater the way the parking is set up. When we purchased the tickets I fully intended on eating lunch while watching the movie but the Husband thought otherwise so we didn’t end up ordering any food. This is good because I heard the food is only OK, but bad because then you have to suffer through the whole movie while smelling your neighbors food. Grr… The service was good and wasn’t as distracting as I thought it might be during the movie. I would say we were definitely in the small minority of people who chose not to eat. I loved how there was plenty of space between the aisles so I had room to stretch my legs, and the chairs were nice and spacious so I had room to stretch out. My one complaint was that the headrests on the chairs stuck out too far, so my neck was in an awkward uncomfortable position the entire movie. #tallpeopleproblems I would come back to Studio Movie Grill again and hopefully get something to eat next time!
