I decided to try this place because of a Groupon I came across — $ 4.50 for $ 8 — can’t complain about that. I’ll come back because the food, service, and prices were awesome. I have to admit up front, my wife and I did wait in line for a bit to order. There was one guy taking orders and serving food for the entire restaurant… at noon. It took longer than I anticipated because a couple of people in front of us were ordering fairly large orders to go. Even still, we waited longer to order then to get our food. I had a combo plate — chile relleno and enchilada with rice and black beans. Everything tasted great. Absolutely no complaints. My wife had a chile verde super burrito and loved it. It’s hard to find good chile verde, but this place knows what they are doing. The free tortilla chips were fresh and cooked well, and the available salsas were flavorful with the perfect about of heat. We also had a side of quac, and that was great as well. Finally, we ordered 2 churros — one cream filled, and one caramel — and I loved them both. If you aren’t a huge fan of caramel, just stick to the cream. Without the groupon, we would have spent about $ 20 total. Overall, the only thing I have to complain about is that I ate way too much and my stomach was mad at me about that. I will be returning, and you should too!

I’m kind of surprised to hear the negative reviews on the tacos. I absolutely love trying new food, but I’m picky with it. Food must be well executed for me to enjoy it. The Asada crispy tacos here are my favorite on the planet, I crave them all the time! if there is one food I could have everyday for a while, it would be these. I’ve brought tons of family and friends to try them and they absolutely love them! The salsa is also my favorite, I can go through so many cups of the salsa mixed with the Mexican crema. to die for. I love this place, and I love their tacos! as for the rest of the food, I can’t have an opinion about, I only go for the tacos!

The two crispy, shredded beef tacos were as follows: * Covered with a thick layer of cheap, powdery, salty«parmesan» cheese * Grease soaked, half limp corn shells * Steamed beef with gristle running throughout the meat… very chewy and tough * One half of a slice of under-ripe tomato * Melted, heavily processed white cheese * A few shreds of light green lettuce The salsa bar contained three very watery substances that were salty with no fresh ingredients identifiable. The free chips were stale. The rice was mushy with little flavor. All of this for over $ 9,(and a drink). Really, do you want to eat there?

If you want authentic tasting Mexican food then you found the right place! I ordered 2 jumbo tacos and received complimentary chips and salsa with my meal. The tacos were made like authentic tacos are with 2 corn tortillas surrounding the ingredients. I was pleased that there was fresh guac on the inside along with the grilled chicken. The chicken is superior to chipotle’s and had much more flavor. I’d recommend this place to lover’s of real Mexican food.

I was just turned away from this place by employees or management really not sure. I drove from the other side of Rocklin with my 3 kids and husband specifically to try out this place. Its 7:38pm when we arrive and my husband gets out to check when they close and make sure they will serve us and if so what we can order. He goes in and is told they close at 8pm very firmly and that the kitchen has been cleaned and closed up. My husband proceeds to tell this employee how we drove about 25 mins to try the restaurant that our whole family is in the car. Horrible attitude and will never come back. Do not recommend this place solely based on first impression and unwillingness to serve customers 20 minutes before posted closing time!

I would probably give this a 3.7÷5 on a scale compared to other mexican restaurants. But mexican food is my favorite and I’ve had it from all over north America. Restaurant was clean Food was good Good for the price You can get a burrito that’s 20 inches long, and 4lbs, for like 12 bux.

This place is fantastic! We first stumbled upon this joint when looking for a restaurant to beans and rice catering trays for our daughter’s school. Not only did they accept the request but donated the trays! Recalling this catering donation, I ordered a tray of rice for a family event. They threw a large bag of chips in at no additional cost. So we have covered the taquiera’s generosity, let’s talk about their food. Probably the best in Rocklin! This place is a hidden gem for Mexican food. Their chips are delicious, crispy tacos are awesome, and their carnitas… holy cow! Go now! And keep going. Let’s keep these guys in business!

I don’t normally order tortas, but the lure of fresh baked bread was too irresistible. It was really delicious too, the tortas I have had at other places were all really soggy. This one was not, held together well with carnitas that had just the right amount of crisp. Anxious to try their burrito next time!

I’ve been here several times because I go to school at Sierra college, prices are very good. Food is great, recommend a super burrito with Al Pastor. Also if you’re brave you can order a giant burrito which is as long as 2 super burritos and it’s at a good price. Over great place, love the food and I recommend this place

This is the best real Mexican food around! I come here very regularly and always see Mexicans eating here too. That should say enough for how real it is. The food is always fresh and tastes amazing! Love this restaurant!

The tacos were great. Three of us had tacos before a show at the Victoria Theatre. The staff was efficient and friendly enough. Great choice of salsas, large variety of drinks. Some of the patrons were down and out, only one was disruptive. I would give more stars based on the tacos but the tables and floor really needed attention, lots of crumbs and small trash.

As noted before, there has been a name change and the sign outside doesn’t reflect the current name. Ordered the torta adogodo(sic.). This is basically a wet torta. I’m afraid the bread did not hold up to the sauce and turned out very soggy. I had the al pastor which was good. A word of caution to those who can’t tolerate very spicy food, the sauce was muy peco! A nice touch was that the torta had onions which were marinated in orange juice which is a great traditional recipe. A very weak point were the chips. They were not stale, but not crispy and fresh either. The chips were replenished as we were waiting for our food and the girl used a hugh bag to refill the ones at the bar. The large quantity of this bag might account for the lack of freshness I experienced. Also the chips were just average and reminded me of the tortilla chips you might purchase at any Gringo grocery store. TLC is probably worth a visit if you are driving by the area or want a lunch off campus from Sierra College which is just across the street.

This is the first time that I have been here and I came because I bought a Groupon. This place is great! My boyfriend and I got carne asada and pollo asado tacos and nachos with carne asada and shared them all and were stuffed! The salsas were amazing and not too hot, and we got some churros-the caramel filled one was delicious!

Another one of my Groupon adventures. I purchased a $ 16 groupon which gave $ 8 to spend on 4 visits(total $ 32 value). I have used three of them already. Little bit difficult to find the restaurant(still has old name) and parking(across from Sierra Clg). The salsa and chips are just okay. I got the super burrito with chicken which was pretty good. I have also tried the chicken quesadilla which was a little bit too salty and too cheesy/oily. So for my 4th one, I will probably get the burrito again :)

Taqueria Los Cabos is located across Rocklin Rd from Sierra College(in the same building complex as Little Caesars Pizza). As noted by another reviewer, the prior business name(Taqueria Alteno) is still on the outside of the building. The restaurant is counter service for placing your order and the food is then delivered to your table. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available as well as a help-yourself chips bar with a variety of salsas and peppers and radishes. Drinks are self-serve at a fountain next to the chips and horchata also offered. On my last visit I had the Torta Al Pastor which for about $ 6 was a nice size sandwich. You can order tortas with any meat you like(or go veges only). For those unfamiliar with the Torta, it is a sandwich served on an oblong bread roll, most commonly called a bolillo or telera(but also birote, or pan francés in different regions of Mexico). They are sometimes grilled or toasted in a press(like a cuban sandwich or a panini). The pastor was nicely seasoned and all other toppings tasted fresh. This Torta was pressed like a panini giving the bolillo a nice toasted texture. The self-serve tortilla chips were not warm and seemed on the verge of going stale. The salsa I tried, however, was very good with a nice amount of heat. 4 stars for the Torta and salsa, 1 star for the chips = 3.5 stars overall.

This place still has the old sign out front Taqueria Alteno if your one that goes by signage instead of addresses. Steak super burrito– 2.7 stars and this one just wasn’t doing it for me, I think it was the steak meat because the sope had the same weird tasting meat.(maybe an off day?) Steak Sope– 2 stars and I tried some of the meat by itself off of this and I didn’t like it and the corn disk didn’t have much flavor. Pastor taco– 3.7 Carnitas taco– 4 stars and this was pretty good and moist. Salsa bar– average with about 4 kinds So if you live near here or frequent the area I would say give it a shot and you can probably find something you like because the menu is pretty large and cheap, but would I recommend driving from Roseville or Citrus Heights, No.

This place is AMAZING! We eat here almost every weekend! It is under new ownership and their food is so YUMMY! I often order the super nachos with added meat and it’s only $ 7.25! It can literally feed three people! There is an open chip bar with different types of salsa and other items to add to your food. This place is definitely AUTHENTIC! We will be going back again and again and again! LOVEIT!
